better buy about 3 cylinders along with your new engine cause the chrome plating will only last 500/1000 miles just like they did on the original CG cylinders. this new BT100 is just a sales gimmick to lure in the idiots. 3 compression rings will cause extra friction/heat what a joke.
Javy Mcdeez zeda mafia has a forged head full steel cylinder wall engine its a beast full hp up too 8 hp its a beast of a engine up too 12 hp with upgraded everything will run forever aslong as u dont over heat it
More friction in theory, but look at the ports. More rings but less cylinder wall surface. I'd say it's exactly how it should be. Plus, more rings make for a better-balanced piston. Keep it well lubed, use good fuel, oil, and it should last at least 3 months like the other Chinese-style 2-cycle bicycle engine kits on the market before things start crapping out. No wonder they say these things are for racing. If you're looking for long term reliability, upgrade to a Honda engine and Kevlar belt transmission. I tend to be cheap and lazy about it and get a friction drive kit with a Honda engine, and then I put a Kevlar tire on the wheel I drive. Last time I had 1 it was with a 25cc 4-cycle engine, .930" roller, 26" tire and while it didn't get me past 25MPH at top speed or over 16MPH up any hill, I've never had a similar sized 2-cycle engine that beat it right out of the box, or any size 2-cycle kit beat it over the long haul. Too bad some asshole ripped me off, and I'm not getting that bike/engine kit back. I wouldn't want it anyway. He probably trashed that, too. Anyway, if you want fast acceleration and higher potential top speed for short runs, go 2-cycle and chain drive with manual clutch. If you want slow acceleration but relatively high and consistent top speed for long trips, go with mini-4 stroke and either belt drive or friction drive with auto clutch. For comparison, I figure the 25cc friction drive kit I used could match pace with a 48cc Chinese-style 2-cycle engine kit I used with a 44T rear sprocket several years ago, if only for about 10 miles before something would need to be tightened or adjusted on the 2-cycle kit. The 1.5L tank on the 2 cycle kit or the 16oz tank on the mini 4-cycle kit both got about the same range when hooked up to their corresponding engine kits. If I read good things about the BT-100, I might get 1 if any are still in stock in a few years. 1st I'm upgrading to a 35cc mini 4-cycle engine kit with the same roller size next year, then getting a better bicycle and tires for it the year after that if I still can. I don't expect to win any races against the 100cc 2 stroke engine-powered bikes any more than a 25cc engine powered bike could beat a 66cc engine powered bike in a fair race, but when I can make 100 mile trips in 1 day, once a week, with no signs of quitting for nearly half a year, I know I have some reliable transportation. I can still race the rich-ass neon spandex crew with their short shorts, fancy pants road racing bikes, Oakley sunglasses and Go-Pros if I want to lol... To each his/her own.
Try taking it apart and putting it back together to see the components inside and then make a test run video but off the back I wouldn't spend no 280 for that like you said I would expect a starter
I could do without the starter if it had a 2 ring piston a cast iron liner and a removable head. this variation they are casting now is a total engineering joke.
If you sand and linseed oil your nice wooden bench it will darken, allowing objects on it to compete with less light and it will resist staining a little more.
Man that engine is a P.O.S just like the rest of those chi knee bike kits. Don't waste your hard earned cash. Put money into something that will actually make some freaking power!
What do you suggest exactly? Do you have a bike with a motor that has more power or is better? If so reply a link to it. So we cam all get the best one. Cheers

I have a 29" Schwinn Midway beach cruiser i will have to modify and remove the lower upper tube on the frame and I'm trying to find out if the pineapple joints will work on a 36 spoke 29" rim. I'm seriously considering ordering the BBR stage 4 so a lot of the upgrades will already be done. I dont want to buy a kit and it only last a couple of days. what is your advice on the kit I should buy on a limited income. and do you know if a standard pineapple joint will work on the 36 spoke rim since they are designed for a 32 spoke rim? I watch a lot of videos and IO trust your opinion on these kits since you're one of the few youtubers who seem to know what you're doing with out just throwing your opinions out there. If you like I could give you my email or face book to message me and help me so I don't buy a piece of junk. Thank you.

I am not familiar with the bolt on motor market but if this is typical of whats on offer then they have a ways to go to catch up to current 2 stroke tech you could put this in a 1950s motorcycle and it would not look out of place so I am assuming they are going to be cheap as chips.

Just as well the older two strokes had three ring Pistons of course they're all compression rings it just lasts longer because the Piston will not slap as much. There is a racing piston with a dykes one ring that doesn't last very long but the ring expands with RPM and compression but it doesn't last very long.. apples and oranges on the 4-stroke suggestion we all know about the oil ring on a 4-stroke has nothing to do with the two stroke 3 ring piston apples and oranges

I'm trying to figure out the same thing. I really like how you can change the angle of the exhaust on this motor. But just the fact that bikeberry is the only one i see selling it makes me wonder.
It'll flat- line a little after mid-range power hits... porting should stretch it's top speed a little. It's nice but only for good bottom end power. Though I could be wrong because it does seem to have a shorter rod.
1: Not a totally new engine. Basically a preexisting crappy china motor with some minor, questionable "upgrades". 2: The set that you link to (sponsored or commission link?) features a CDI with a red line that is in fact just stock, the standard crappy china exhaust, and the same NT type carb that you get on every crappy engine, but with a race style carb, and the head is WORSE than stock because its mass doesn't allow as much cooling. It's also horrifically overpriced, even at the "sale" price of 270 bucks. 99% of what you got is just the same kit that I got for 90 GBP, or about 115 dollars, AKA "less than half the price." Amusing that you claim the casting is good, after showing the horrifically poor finish on the cylinder. Those may be different things, but you knew EXACTLY what you were doing.

Take two rings off
You only need one anyway
Won't mess w it at that price +..Az has awesome laws but yr round sunshine., My dog Has to wear a swamp cooler vest just to walk around the yard.
It looks like the cylinder doesn't have a steel sleeve. If it's all aluminum it might last a few months.
It’s never powerful it’s basic serial engine
Try taking it apart and putting it back together to see the components inside and then make a test run video but off the back I wouldn't spend no 280 for that like you said I would expect a starter
I could do without the starter if it had a 2 ring piston a cast iron liner and a removable head. this variation they are casting now is a total engineering joke.
Leave the guy alone, if u didnt like the video you could always click on another one
6 minutes to open the boxes...not looking good
Having spark issues on a Thundershirt motor kit replace the CDI coil have not replace the stator any comments or thoughts would be appreciated
brent_sr@yahoo.com
AF80 is on the connecting rod, not the crank...
Lol I know
Yeah. I noticed he messed up
I’d hook that to my blender and make some frozen margaritas
Why did you take it apart. I bought a lawn mower and I didn’t take it apart. !! I USED IT.
To see what's on the inside! So you guys dont have to.
Would like to see what you think, and see it on a bike running.
now i REALLY miss my evel knevel stunt cycle
At 10:45 you state that it says AF80 on the crank and it looks to me to be on the rod. Just saying.
Only thing I like is the 50mm piston...
Why can’t Americans design bike motors and make them here ?
Zeda motorsports has a made in the USA billet aluminum case motor for sale. Itll set you back about $600 though
5 min,to open box good by...thumbs down
Thanks for watching! 👍 There was also a link to skip to the engine in the description.
@@MotoredLife ya there's a way to fast forward on UA-cam... they don't know that?
John Wunder You know John,We have a fast-forward button on the phone. Another hatter in the crowd.
John Wunder I have a finger I can give you. And you know which one that is.
Hi brother can you help me.How to install electronic starter in 80 cc 2 stoke bicycle engine.kindly please make a video on this.
I would think it would be more trouble than it's worth. I would try to find a good pull start instead.
Cheers
How much is that cool package set you back at
the cylinder is really the only difference but most likely they changed the stud spacing to keep it kosher
Hey Alex I for one love to watch your videos, I'm about to build my first project. Thank you.
Leonard, they're all junk. Even the high dollar ones. Get a cheapie and do your own mods. You'll learn more and when u shell somethin it'll be cheaper to replace
I am not familiar with the bolt on motor market but if this is typical of whats on offer then they have a ways to go to catch up to current 2 stroke tech you could put this in a 1950s motorcycle and it would not look out of place so I am assuming they are going to be cheap as chips.
It’s 100cc if I remember
79, 100cc is just what they call it,
Illegal to use in europe for road use. when you get cought with one your on the public roads you are in serous trouble. 100cc engine makes your bicycle for the law a motorcycle. that on its own gives you fines for driving without a license , avoiding lot of taxes etc.
Unpacking was a waste of 6 minutes of my limited lifespan.
Miracle is you could have just fast forward like anyone else in a hurry... so only one to blame for the waste of time in life is you, dude makes a huge effort for a small niche community be more kind.
Great videos Alex. You should come run that BT100 in the 5th Annual Midwest Scarecrow Run...a 65 mile Motorized Bicycle ride taking place June 8, 2019. This event is just west of Peoria Illinois. We have had riders come from Bloomington IL, East Peoria, Iowa, Colorado, Missouri, Conneticut, Oklahoma, Michigan, etc. The ride host some cool bikes and cool people. You would feel right at home.
Sounds neat. I have a 1947 Honda type A motorized bicycle that I was hoping to take on a group ride, I will have to look into this one.
I've heard about this ride an wish I could bring my bikes to ride in that event.im on Facebook Bikelife flying motorbikes page.all are welcome to join.
Does the motor put out six or 12 V
Six, they make a little 12v coil but it's a poo
I think that timepiece was meant for the wall, not your wrist.
Haha I love my gold gear s3 frontier!
Two strokes usually tend to have only two sets of rings, the lower set in a 4 stroke is an oil control ring.
I wish you younger guys knew more about the history of all engines including two strokes especially
I just love those little engines. Can’t wait to see it run. I’m thinking the price point is a little high. Around 200 would be good If everything checks out. I’m really interested in seeing it mounted and tested.
They need to change the direction of those fins
they? you mean job security joooos?
@@javymcdeez3958 no. I mean the people who designed it for motorised bikes
How long is the stroke
Also a question JLZeda or Zeda Motorsports, which one is better or is it the same.
From what I understand, Zeda motorsports is a tuning/styling manufacturer based in thé USA, JL Zeda Is the chinese produscer of thé engines only Stock.
Yes, jlzeda is the manufacturer in china. Zeda motorsports began as a distributor for jlzeda. Long story that isn't important. Keep your eyes on jlzeda, huge things coming soon. :)
JL zeda is the legit one zeda Motorsports is a hack that sells other people's shit and are straight up con men.
@@JamesPiccone not true my $700 motor from rob is amazing faster then my 212cc I've got the torque monster from zedamotorsports.com love it worth every penny i spent & minute that I had to wait since I waited a month for it I would order it again
@@mbrrideitlikeyoustoleit8436 ua-cam.com/video/P3_Nqc2iN9Q/v-deo.html keep telling yourself that bro 👍. You must be new to this but everybody in the motorized bicycle community knows zeda Mafia AKA zeda Motorsports are con artists hacks. A simple search on the forums would tell you that.
I'm excited to see that there is finally some forward movement in the motorized bike kit market!
I highly recommend you check out Robert bianchi's water cooled engine, look him up on UA-cam zeda motor sports
@@silas__modz4020 I'm talking about ready-to-buy kits, not really modded stuff. The only engines that have dominated the market so far is the 66cc china girl, the electric start BT80, and the 49cc Huasheng 4 strokes. There's finally a new engine, even if it's still borrowing most of the china girl design
Was this motor worth it or is the dy100 better after you used it a bit?
I'm trying to figure out the same thing. I really like how you can change the angle of the exhaust on this motor. But just the fact that bikeberry is the only one i see selling it makes me wonder.
They need to make a 250cc
cant even make a 80cc could never make a 250cc stay running longer than 100 miles
It'll flat- line a little after mid-range power hits... porting should stretch it's top speed a little. It's nice but only for good bottom end power. Though I could be wrong because it does seem to have a shorter rod.
Buy a ktm 50cc franco Morini motor.
I have one for sale if you know someone that wants a "Moroni".
99% of what you got is just the same kit that I got for 90 GBP, or about 115 dollars, AKA "less than half the price."
Amusing that you claim the casting is good, after showing the horrifically poor finish on the cylinder. Those may be different things, but you knew EXACTLY what you were doing.
The box is worth more than the motor
Use a chainsaw piston Stihl or Husqvarna
@Pops Fereal because its a better piston
@Pops Fereal do I have a 47 mm cylinder? Or a 48 millimeter?
Bigger piston does not make it more run hotter, the lack of cooling fins does.
run 100 percent gas, will run a little cooler
This cylinder is designed to be forced air cooled. Passive air cooling won't cut it.
What’s up bro! I’m the fire fighter you talked to today in Peoria. Would love to connect and collaborate I also have a channel!!
Teaser i want to see it on the bike lol
I hear ya! Working on it now lol. I can't wait.
