When I was in the Tool Business for 35yrs I had numerous trucks over the years. My last truck was a International and tire balance was always an issue and since I drove it 5 days a week and if the tires were out of balance it would cause a lot of problems with the ride. Over those many years I tried all sorts of balance techniques like even golf balls balance powder and so on. The only real tried and true method was spin balance of the wheel that worked for me. Also I found that the Good Year Tires always worked the best for me. Everytime I did a tire change it was 6 tires and that's very expensive. That tire hub you have is very interesting.
It’s hard to believe that you transformed that dated interior into the beauty you have now. Love the counters, the vibrant splashes of color, new fabrics and your re-use of many original parts and pieces. All the technical stuff is over my head, but I appreciate the amazing capabilities you’ve built into this reinvented rig of yours. Thanks for sharing the results with us.

I did the same rear view mirror camera on my 3500 and like I have no camper at the back, Also I bought original tailgate camera with harness and attached that under camper steps and now when I back up, Wlso I have fully functional back up camera. This two was first mods I did after purchasing the truck camper and I highly recommended to everyone to do so for safety. Thanks for great video

So many great ideas! My favorite truck camper build/reno. I’m in a stock Northstar TC and love it but the engineering and ingenuity of your home on big wheels is absolutely brilliant! Well done.
We had vinyl plank flooring in our RV trailer, I found that it trapped moisture against the plywood and caused it to rot. Always a conundrum to seal the edges, or occasionally lift the vinyl planks up to let the wood breathe and dry out.

SO glad you guys went with a dry bath.
I don't carry a generator right now I have golf cart batteries 6 volt in that space. I love the conversion to the lithium that you've done then I can open up that space for storage I'm running on a 94 F350 dually long bed crew cab 7.3 manual. I've modified with reverse shackles up front and then lifted the rear end to balance. Currently running 300 w solar with an inverter I'm not going to give up my basement that's where we carry the skis I just replaced my stolen e-bike and my daughter's stolen e-bike this Christmas. Hers has arrived she doesn't know it yet, mine's on its way my wife hasn't decided what kind she wants yet. We love our Bigfoot the dry bath. Been to Mexico to Washington Arizona Nevada California we recently got a windrider 17 sailboat that we had out this summer that we tow. Cheers from California

Excellent camper build and video. A lot of engineering work had to be done. Read that the manufacturer Loki Basecamp is opening a factory in Colorado in 2022. All your upgrade ideas are definitely Chief Engineer level ideas. Entire Camper has all the comforts of a six figure cost level camper

Wow , you have turned truck camping into a science . It is a lot of fun adding improvements to livability and function . I saw a comment that you guys are from Sugar Springs . I am too . Have lived here for 17 years and spend the winters at our digs in Arizona . We have an 03 f350 dually with a recently acquired 10 1/2 Northstar camper , after selling our Lance . Been busy making it ours and readying for our annual trip . Quite a camping rig you guys have .

We have a 2020 Arctic Fox 811 on a 2019 Ford F350 and are having a great time with our outfit. Our 2015 Jayco 5th wheel has been sitting on the RV pad since this transition.

One last thing my Tool Trucks were never off road so stuff stuck in the tire tread was not an issue for me. I just sold my Cirrus Camper and F350 a few weeks back. For the time that I owned it I had Mechellin Tires and they were great.

Pretty cool. I have been researching a slide in truck camper. My wife & I are both teachers & basically empty nesters that love to travel. I just feel like this type of travel rig would fit our lifestyle and the way that we want to travel. I don't see us being able to go as extreme as you guys, for several years. However, I would like to look at getting a smaller & lighter camper to try out and see how we like on a few trips. Then possibly upgrade if we see that it is something that we really like.
We have a custom built, convertible teardrop camper that I built in 2013. We have traveled all over the eastern half of the U.S. with it, but I think that a truck camper might actually fit our "let's just go & see" style of traveling better.

Hello, and thank you for producing so many fantastic videos presenting your experience travelling on the road.
My wife and I are planning to drive the Pan Americana next year that is why we are watching among other videos from other vlogger your Serie “Go North” and were amazed from the way you are presenting the trip and your equipment.
Once looking at your new videos about the setting of your new camper we were chocked about your contradiction concerning your energy concept.
In the “GO North” electrical setting you tried to present to the viewer that you care about the nature and you do not like to spoil the surrounding with the noise of a generator and you convinced the viewer that the mounted battery was sufficient for your need during that trip despite the fact of the lack of incoming solar energy due to the geographical aspect.
What made you change your mind are the 540 Amp batteries are not sufficient to cover your daily need bearing in mind that you are traveling now in a southern Latitude were sun are shining longer than in the northern Territories.
I am sorry if my comment might create any inconvenient to you but it is always good to trust a vlogger and his content had I do not care about you I would not bothered to write this comment
The Camper we bought already had a generator built in and we just have not removed it yet. It only has run a few hours since we bought it, so it's not really needed. We also have not yet added a second alternator to the truck. We would like to reconfigure this to how our Alaska setup was but just have not got there yet. The solar power is adequate for 90% of our needs. Will be adding a second alternator soon.

My Gosh. You two are unbelievably creative in the designs and upgrades to your truck-camper. Both the outside and interior modifications are utterly impressive. Do you still have your Lance Camper? That was also quite a masterpiece. And above all, both you Caitlyn and Tom are just super narrator and make the video so much fun to watch. Ha ha ha, hope there are no porcupines in your new travels.
Well done. You could have done a 24v upgrade but did a 12v with your electric upgrade. Probably simpler. I appreciate the depth of knowledge and experience with your content.
I put a composting toilet in my camper and it was a game changer. I will never have to search for or pay for an RV dump station again. I would recommend getting one for sure.

Life should be an Adventure, but few actually make it a priority or can. I passed on the 5th wheel and am looking at an off-road/grid tc with the rig to get me on the roads less traveled. The transformation of your Big Foot tc is amazing. The best part is the way you present and share so many details and things to consider before making a bad decision too late in. Love this set up. The water limitation is a major factor for truck campers. Have you tried a couple 5 gallon water jugs or bladders in the back seat? It looks like you have a little more room in the cab.
This is like an earth roamer. I assume it might be less than one considering that they did more of the work themselves. Absolute unit of a camper. Can’t wait to see what’s next

Wow I’ve seen a good 500 refits remodels yours is number one
Just outstanding job dude & dudeet.
One word idea/suggestion, "water", into welding and fabrication. How about welding 8 inch truss partitions down the width of the bed. Then installing inside those partitions 24 x 8 high x 72 inch long water tanks. That's about 60 gallons each x 3 for 180 gallons of water, then do the 4th tank as the new black & grey. Weld on plate to top in hardpoint areas, then re-mount the camper.
Then ditch existing basement black/grey tank for more battery space.
Yea!!! showers all the time.
That is also why I suggested the F750,,, 170,000 PSI frame rails, very stiff up to 25,000 GVWR in a small package. Flat bed, tow 5er,, or load camper for off road. One vehicle - 2 options.

You built a great rig, sell it, profit, and build an even better one that also tows the 5er.

@@MortonsontheMove Also one more important piece of data, if the truck has been lifted, make sure the (bottom out) bushing above the rear is matched in height of the lift. If not you could tweek the spring set past factory spec as it compresses. Been there done that in a Ford design. (sumo springs)= google.
160 gallons of water is 1120 lbs, it can carry the weight low on the body, the camper is light and tall. Just for cross checks, crawl under a 6500 and see what it has that you don't.
May just be a couple springs, and a front torsion bar upgrade to make it even more badass on the cheap. to carry 160 gallons of water.

Pass on the compost toilet when you pass 5500 to 6500 of weight rating. Your well past a compost toilet at that weight. Enjoy the comfort of being that heavy.

Cool rig! Have thought about redesigning the truck bed/camper system to include all these great modifications as a bolt/clamp lock on attachment. Lock on the truck bed, camper or whatever!!! Chat with some other specialty truck apps thinkers! I had this idea of a ruck front that can attach to many functional attachments from dump beds to campers, flatbeds, regular beds, 5-th wheels or whatever!

Awesome build! I am incredibly impressed. Your videos are even greater! I had a smaller and older big foot on my f350 that I sold to some lucky soul. Now I am in the middle of building out my Sprinter 144” 4x4. I was wondering why you use three solar 75-10 controllers for your three solar panels. I saw your battery video analysis 🧐 so I am certain you have a very good reason. 30 years ago, probably before you were born I had a flat flexible solar panel on my sail boat that was very inferior to rigid panels. Recently a utube in Arizona reported loosing a couple of his flat panels because they did not have enough air circulating behind them, the hot summer AZ rays may have fried them! I don’t know. I grew up in Michigan, where were you there? Go BLUE! Looking forward to many more of your thoughtful videos.

Depending on the year of the truck, you can either have the worm gear in the transmission changed and or they can do it through the cpu. Your speedometer will read true then.

First time I've seen your vids, congratulations on you wonderful remodeling.
Would like to see you guys upgrade refrigerator to a Norcold N8DCSS (compressor). It has the same installation dimensions, and you blank-off the roof vent and side-wall access cover for better insulation and safety. Add’ly, consider upgrade to a super efficient Esper diesel heater and run air intake back inside your camper beneath cabinets in a closed loop setup for excellent moisten control and insulation.

Balance Masters are very similar to the Centrimatic (sp) that you have, except they have a heavy liquid in them similar to mercury. Their are totally silent and work great!!!
