►►►►►►LIST OF OUR CAMPERS (PRESENT AND PAST)◄◄◄◄◄◄
►2020 Bigfoot 10.4 Truck Camper - We got our 2020 Bigfoot 10.4 Truck Camper in October 2021. We were contacted by a couple of subscribers (now good friends) who had theirs up for sale in Upstate New York so we headed out on an adventure. We sold our 2014 Bigfoot 10.4 within one day of listing it online.
►2014 Bigfoot 10.4 Truck Camper - We got our 2014 Bigfoot 10.4 in August 2021 from RVOne near Charlotte, NC. Todd was headed to buy a brand new Bigfoot 10.4 just before we got the Lance 975 but when he got to Southland RV, it was sold. That's when we decided to go to the Lance 975. We knew at some point in the future we'd have a Bigfoot again and here it is.
►2021 Lance 975 - We got our new 2021 Lance 975 from Chattanooga Fish n Fun in Hixson, TN in August 2020. After looking at several models, we decided on the Lance 975 (Check out Brad's channel from Chattanooga Fish n Fun, he gives great, thorough overviews of some really nice boats and campers.) We sold the Lance 975 in August 2021.
►2019 Northern Lite 10-2 Truck Camper - Bought and delivered from Mountain Motors in Troy, MO on 12/2019 and sold it in 01/2020.
►2005 Northern Lite 10-2 Truck Camper - Picked up on 8/10/2019 we did major repairs, maintenance and renovations to this one and sold it in 12/2019.
2008 Bigfoot 21RB - Sold 12/2019, we went across country to purchase from a dealer in Pueblo Colorado.
►2006 Casita Spirit Deluxe - Sold 07/2018 when we bought our Bigfoot.
    ►2002 A-liner - Sold 05/2017 when bought our 2006 Casita Spirit Deluxe.

We have a 2007 bigfoot 2500 9.6 that we bought new and we love it. The 30000 btu furnace keeps us warm even when it is-20 outside. Great campers. No problems at all.

Looks very similar to the Arctic Fox 992. Placing the restroom next to the bed rather than the door really opens up the camper.

With the massive gaps under your camper, you could add a pair of magnetic lockers to hold tools or rain gear and tarps to hang off the back of the camper. I've seen Australian truck owners do this all the time. I envy them because they drive Land Rover pickups. Those are VERY capable when off road and they EASILY last as long as any Toyota. PS: nothing wrong with a Dodge product. I drove a Jeep Cherokee for over 12 years and it was very very reliable. I sold it because I ran into an unexpected issue: the 4.0 straight 6 wouldn't die. It was outlasting the components around it! The coolant pump wore out. Had to replace it. The hoses had to be replaced. The Mopar dealer warned me that this was a common problem with Jeeps from the very early 90s: they just don't die!

Great tour of your rig. I really like that you stepped up to the bigger truck with the flatbed. And the layout of the 10.4 is fantastic. The thing I really like about it (and I'm sure you do is well) is the kitchen and dining areas are in the back and there are plenty of windows to see all around. Plus that huge skylight so it must be a real joy to be in there. The bathroom is perfect too.
    Have fun!

    Love your name.
Outdoor speakers a big no no camping. No one wants to hear other people's music while camping. It is all a matter of taste. So many people think they are the life of the party when in fact neighbours are seething. Camping is for getting away from it all and enjoying the sounds of nature. Not rock and roll.
Big foots are great. Your camper looks very comfy. I would replace all those different stairs with one set up though. Would be safer.

Need a soft start for ac just takes the big surge out when it first fires up. Have you ever seen one with heat strips to make the ac a heater too. I’ve never heard if they are good or bad but there would be no heat in basement. I guess just for cooler weather a little heat would be fine if you plug in at a camp ground and you could set thermostat for furnace if it would get too cold .

You guys are well-connected to the truck camper industry, so I’m going to give you a suggestion that could totally change the design of a bathroom by converting a wet bath to a dry one. One, remove the shower from the bathroom. Two, mold two fiberglass seats into the area where the dinette is now and mold fiberglass “lips” into the sides between the seats. Three, put all of you shower controls, including a flex hose, into a recess in the wall. Four, suspend a removable shower curtain from the ceiling. Five, the area could still be used as a dinette or a bed with a table top that would either sit between the seats or on a leg for eating. I’ve thought about this for quite some time and truly believe it’s a doable idea. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Those reflective thermal pane windows are the cat's meow. We've sat in ours watching things outside when animals (or people) have no idea were right there. And they're noise dampening just like the fiberglass shell. Northern Lite has plastic windows, lol.

@@scallywag6768 I apologize, I did not know there were other options. I have never bought a Northern Lite mainly due to those small plastic windows. I'm in the market again and will take a closer look. Thanks.

    • @scallywag6768
      @scallywag6768 2 роки тому

@@bob_frazier Bigfoot and Northern Lite are both high quality comparable campers, both are manufactured in BC.
What I like about the acrylic windows in the NL is that they are lighter than glass. They swing up to open, so the whole window is open allowing for better air exchange. Also they don't allow rain water to enter when open. This feature is important to me as I live on the coast of British Columbia and it rains often here. These windows do need care as they can be damaged but the camper did come with a repair kit to polish out scratches. Our camper is 5 years old and I have yet to use this kit. Our windows are still fine.

My wife and I are trying to move away from our van and looking to buy a 2020 RAM 3500 Tradesman Flatbed 4x4 and a Northern Lite truck camper. My question for you is how to get both of these insured? The truck is considered a Commercial Truck. Do you have any recommendations on how to get this truck insured?

stay away from the arctic fox. My 2016 AF 11' is completely falling apart and come to find out the customer service is as bad as the build quality. I am replacing the 1x2" pinewood framing with angle iron since the 4' that hang off the back of the bed are sagging badly. I replaced it with a 2021 Northern lite which I estimate is 1,500 lbs lighter. The slide on the AF makes the truck lean way to the right which is scary. The Bigfoot was my second choice but I like the floorplan in the N-L.

We now have a 2020 Lance 1172 that we just got and surprisingly the mattress that came with it coupled with the Froli is VERY comfy so I don’t think we’ll change it out. Would like to inquire however; don’t have and have been interested, watching many vids, but concerning your 2 30lb gas bottles, would you consider more bottles, secured to the steel bed since you have “that monster 300k btu heater” in some colder climates for extended travel or stay? Just that 2 that size seemed small for a heater that capable. Thank you sir.

Hi Ed Wilson, We love both the NL and Bigfoot. They each have their pluses and minuses. I feel like the Bigfoot campers are structurally built better but they are both great campers. Just my opinion for whatever that's worth. Thanks for watching!

The new 2024 Northern light has more head room in bedroom now more than Bigfoot. Also a wet bath give you more room in the shower & more height too.
Dry bath have a step up into so less Northern light has a 80" bed full Queen too.
Arctic Fox have plenty of head height but build quality is not as good as Bigfoot & Northern light are the only campers that are spit design like to boats together one upside down so no leaks & last longer & both are considered the best & 4season.

Just curious you didn't show it and I know it's in the back on the driver's side at least on my Lance it is but where do you hook up the hose to drain your tanks usually the storage is close to where you hook it up to to drain.

Once getting on the roof of an RV years ago at a camper show and from owning several cargo trailers. The problem with the roofs on campers they literally have over 100 holes through the roof. Cargo trailers don't have all the holes through the roof. The best solution to repair roofs on cargo trailers and RV trailers is the aluminum and tar like tape they sell at Lowe's or Home Depot. I personally wouldn't buy that eterna Bond tape people talk about it doesn't have the thin aluminum top facing up. Because with aluminum it doesn't break like the eterna Bond type of duct tape stuff does. If you use this peel and stick aluminum and tar like tape mine has lasted for years because when I do something. I want to last as long as I can or for a lifetime. I can't say I've had the experience to mess with an RV roof but as long as the RV roof doesn't move around this aluminum and black tar like peel and stick tape or work perfectly. On a warm day, clean and install this aluminum and black tar like peel and stick tape from Lowe's or Home Depot around every screw. And afterwards I paint mine with a white roof coat. I get at Home Depot the Uncle Henry's type I don't remember the part number. It's a step up from the thinnest stuff they have. And it works great. They have all kinds of roof coats. But all RVs and cargo trailers will eventually leak over time with a heating, cooling and UV light breaking down the lapping compound that's used on them. Cargo trailers if you buy one new you could go for several years before you might see a leak. But with a camper as the dealer States you want to recaulk and maintenance the roof every 6 months. That's way too much time and money spent that's why I say do the job right the first time with whatever it takes. And once you get a leak you ruin the insulation on some of these campers with the cheaper insulation in them. But any leak causes mold and mildew and that's a very serious and mess of a problem. I know I had a neighbor that kept having leaks come into my apartment still it's the same thing and I had a serious mold problem so bad I moved out. Because I couldn't fix the neighbor with all the water problems she was having and on top of that she could have cared less.

Toad & Carla can you tell me which is lowest bed height from the ground to the flat bed vs you old dully truck. Is one of them much lower than the other? I tryin to determine which has the lowest center of gravity. Flat bed or 3500 pickup bed? Best regards to you both.

If you're shopping for a dependable diesel truck. I want something that's dependable and lasts forever I went with the older non-def 2006 and older Dodge Cummins manual transmission. You can find them you're going to pay quite a bit because they're so valuable. Because so many people are sick of all these emission problematic 2007 and newer def trucks. It's so bad in trucking it's the same way as the smaller trucks. But a lot of smaller trucking companies with newer trucks or totally going out of business because they can't afford all the shop repairs in downtown of not trucking being in the shop. Most everybody in trucking doesn't want a newer emissions truck because they're not dependable they're a nightmare. I was helping out a friend and drove his new nice looking truck it broke down twice. It had to be towed and cost quite a bit of time and money to fix it. And now he's out of business. But if you've got to make the payments and buy a newer emissions truck you're going to really pay in the long run. I'm so glad years ago I bought me a very dependable Dodge Cummins with a manual transmission. That's something else you can't even get in the smaller diesel trucks is a manual transmission. Manual transmissions last a lot longer and are way cheaper in the long run.
