I've followed a lot of YT camper vans. I have to say, yours is the best thought out camper I have seen. It is firmly my favourite for design, practicality and function.

I have had three different types of truck campers. The side steps you built are outstanding. And I like the dogs bunk in the back seats.
We have had several truck campers and took everything we liked and disliked from them and applied it to this build!

I am seriously considering a complete refit of a camper. Do you think your structural insulated panels could be adapted to the typical framing of a camper? Also, how much did each 4x8 panel weigh?
@@ssteele1812 Each panel weighed about 50lbs. They can’t be used with conventional framing because their structure depends on being reinforced internally and externally (monocoque structure).
This is the best camper fit of my liking i will install a retractable awning good to go

Very excited about the new venture! I am on 5 acres in northern NV with a small house and big shop plus a few other out buildings that I built (a couple single car garages and large sheds/shops. I have a bunch of cars). I like it here but would LOVE to have 20 acres in northern ID! Looking forward to see what you are going to do up there.
I'm also a fire fighter/EMT so always cognizant of fire danger. If I were in a high risk wildland area I'd probably do a shipping container for both fire resistance and security when not home. Or concrete walls with metal roof. Then build sacrificial wood deck around and maybe fiber cement siding to make it look like a wooden cabin.

Wow, your property sounds awesome! We actually considered northern NV because of it's proximity to some of our favorite wheeling trails (Moonrocks, Rubicon, Fordyce, etc).
Those are excellent tips and I really appreciate you taking the time to provide some insigh.! There are so many things to think about when taking on a project like this and we're going to need all the help can get!

We took everything we liked/disliked from our Lance campers and built something that was much better suited for our needs!

I really salute both of you. U have a garage fully equiped to build everything. Have all the skill of a craftsman, carpenter n whatnot. U can easily convert your skill to be an Entrepreneur....ie helping other people to convert their vehicles into their dream home on wheels...
