I forgot to mention in the 'cons' that Thursdays aren't quite as slim as Common Projects/Oliver Cabell, which might be another downside if the super long and lean look is what you're after. Then again, it's an upside if you're among the many who find CP/OC too slim! ✰ Also, check out my 10 Best Boots On the Market: ua-cam.com/video/9kuHyyefNGE/v-deo.html
I think what is part of the appeal of Thursday's 3 heritage leather ones (like the cacao), is that they use the same leather which they use for boots, so creasing actually adds character to the sneaker rather than being something one should try and minimize and stress over. @1:41
Based on your review and my experience with the Captains boot, (again, your review) I ordered the Thursday sneaker in black. They arrived today and I'm super happy with them. Fit and finish is perfect. And at a fair price. I could not see paying $300 to $400 or more for sneaks; that's just not gonna happen for me. I love the Thursday sneakers and thanks for a great review.

Thought I chime in as I own the one in white in a size 9. It holds up really well and creases slower than other brands and for the few months I've had it wearing it once a week it's still has no creases. The leather feel great and just a very comfortable shoe. I have a pair of Oliver Cabells in white as well and love them both about the same but I'd think the Thursday boot sneaker will hold better over time. They both get a five star from me.
@@nodieusa I have a pair of Goodman sneakers that are really stiff also and broke them in wearing them around the house while I worked. Took quite some time and I have a suspicion they might be veg tanned leather. More than likely not, however they have not creased like my Koios.
That background tho lol you look like you're at my Tia's 😄 I'm still waiting for my waxed cacao high tops, didn't like their low top white sneaker too much as it kind of hurt my feet after awhile :/ so I'm sizing up this time
Have you noticed a difference in comfort in the white vs black? It seems the white is the only color that doesn’t use the leather insole. The black and tan have the leather insole but im curious if the white will be as comfy without that leather insole.
I have these in the Natural Essex and they're really nice. I wish they had wide sizes, but the construction is very solid. I think the Cacao is overall the best but I got the Essex because I like how it ages and that color fit in my collection best. I'm not wild about Thursday's boots, but their sneakers are a good buy. They're quite narrow though, so heads up.
I was in the Thursday shop yesterday, fully expecting to buy a pair of the Premiers. Normally a size 11 US in most shoes & sneakers, sometimes even a 10.5, but the 11 in the TBC was noticeable shorter when I lined them up sole-to-sole with the sneakers I wore into the shop (J&M Banks). When on my foot, my big toe was brushing up against the front of the sneaker, so I went up to an 11.5. That length was spot on, but I was getting a weird feeling along the outer sides. Not necessarily too narrow, but it felt like there was pressure along the outer edge of my foot coming up from the bottom (not in from the sides). It felt like the inside of the sneaker - or insole - had a lip along the outer edge which was putting upward pressure on my feet. I noticed it after less than a minute, so I know I wouldn't want to be in them for hours on end. Too bad, too, as I like the way they looked, they appeared to be constructed well, and the price was right. Some reviews of the Oliver Cabell say the stitching right along the back of the heel may cause discomfort &/or blistering, so that gives me pause. And I'd rather not spring for what Crown Northamptons are going for, especially w/o being able to try them on first, although the reviews are almost universally positive. Even though they're made to order, I believe CN allows returns, so that may be what I go for in the end. I may give the Thursday sneakers one more chance by trying them again with a non-stock insole to see if that makes a difference.

I’ve been driving my Thursday white sneakers very hard for over two years. The finishing on the leather hasn’t held up particularly well, which is on par with the other white Napa leather sneaks. I’m generally not bothered by the break in process, which is fortunate for me with these bad boys. After a few weeks though, similarly to other leather shoes, they are super duper comfy. They will probably not see me through next summer as the insole+midsole has started to disintegrate. Would still generally recommend ‘cause who can live without white sneakers? I've never in my life worn white sneakers and can't see why anyone does. I won't even buy a show with a white sole. I don't want to look like I'm wearing dirty shoes past week 3.
White sneakers are very easy to wear with a lot of things in anyone's wardrobe. They are easy to combine and they can be dressed up or down, no other shoe has that type of versatility. If you don't like when a white sole get dirty then there is a thing called shoe cleaners. I even have all black sneakers and i clean them every time I finish using them as if I did to a white sneaker. The more you take care of your stuff the more they will last.

I bought the natural chromexcel sneakers. Overall I'm quite happy with them. They did take some break-in, but nothing horrible. My main gripe is that they are a bit narrow. I don't usually wear wide sizes, but these shoes kind of roll up a bit at the edges of the inseams and even after a dozen wears or so they haven't quite reshaped. I'm not sure if they will, though they usually feel better by the end of the day than at the beginning (or maybe I just get used to it, I dunno.)
I have a couple of pairs of Thursday low tops, one in white and the other is a heritage in cacao. They are so very comfortable and look great. I also have a pair of Beckett Simonons in white. Hi Stridewise. I’m planning on getting the Premier Low Top White. I’m still confused about the sizing. Some say it’s narrow and other’s say it’s true to size. I’m wide footed. I usually buy size 9 unless they recommend to go half size up, like On Shoes and I own 2 pairs of that. I have an Adidas Stan Smith size 8.5. The only size 8.5 shoe I have cause I tried size 9 and it’s too big for me. So for this Thursday Premier Low Top’s? What shoe size do you recommend? Do I stay true to size? Which is size 9. Or do i have to go half size up? Thank you for your help.
Hi there! Just got a pair of these in Toffee and they’re really nice. Question on sizing: how do you think these compare to the Beckett Simonon Reid? I have those in 11 but wear size 12 in Adidas, Nike, and New Balance. Would you recommend a size 11.5 to split the difference? They are slightly smaller than the BSR’s when measured heel to toe…
@@jicalzad I actually went up to an 11.5 for the Thursdays and that feels about right. Definitely a roomier upper last than BS though, so keep that in mind-have to really cinch down the laces for my foot to stabilize. I was also an 11.5 in Stan Smiths if that helps. Honestly, I’d order both sizes so you can do a true side by side comparison-maybe the 11s were fine and would loosen up with time. 🤷🏻♂️
One con you didn't mention: Especially with the cacao leather low tops, the top of the backstay cups around your heel really high and tends to rub your skin raw and press into your Achilles tendon area.
5:20 I am sure this is fairly obvious to a sneaker person but why do sneakers not use fully stitched? Why do they almost entirely have at least some form of glued construction?
Another awesome review!!! Thanks again for your HONEST and SINCERE review/recommendation. Thoughts on Thursday suede boots.......I don't think you have any in your collection and no reviews......help!!! Recommendation/thoughts??? Thanks!
I got a pair of those in the mail put them on couldn’t fit them. I don’t understand why I don’t have wide size I was very disappointing because I told my wife I really wanted them and Bree disappointing how do you
So i know service boot aesthetic is a big deal....but have you ever worn or bought an actual service boot?? I recommend at the front who makes the best wwii service boot o the market. I reenact and am also a boot guy and am blown away at them. Theyre 300 bucks so Id love to see you consider their products since they make the OG product.
I think they fit small. I take a US9 in Nike and Brooks running shoes, Vans and Converse, but the Thursday Low 1s I just got are sooo tight. What’s worse is the ankle box gapes. I’m not sure if I should try a half size up. Quite disappointed as I’d heard such good things.
Hey could you tell me how the ankle fits? Is the opening wide or slim? I have skinny ankles and usually like a little cushion around the ankle part or I usually wear a kid or high top cause if that. On the site they look like a wider opening, which is what I’m hoping. Thanks!
So you have skinny ankles but you also want a wide opening? I guess it's pretty wide, I'm always impressed at how well the opening secures the ankle, it's got soft suede cushiness but still a nice firm grip that prevents slippage
@@Stridewise thanks! Yea I know it sounds counterintuitive, but if it’s more stiff with a slightly wider opening, compared to hugging my ankle, my jeans sit better on them making my ankles appear not as thin. Good review! Checking out your other videos
I got the toffee ones. Honestly, not in love with them. Barely any of that nice burnishing you see on the store page, and the quality control was everywhere: askew stitching, uneven tongues, and exposed foam. The last is also more narrow than the boots and I keep on getting blisters whenever I put the sneakers on. A great value it might be, but a great shoe it is not. At least for me. If I wasn't in absolute dire need of a shoe at that time I would've immediately sent it back.
Hey Daan! These are Naked & Famous's Summer Sky, they're real lightweight. This year they have a similar jean called Sky High made with a little hemp, looks about the same though!
I bought these in black. Love the look, and they feel good. However, the tongues move to the side of my foot. It really bothers me. I wish there was a loop to put the laces through that stops the tongue movement.
I have a pair of the white one in the mail. I've been wearing my other Frank and Oak white leather sneakers for about 2.5 years and they are getting a little beat up. I have high hopes that these ones will be a good replacement :)
Sneakers rule!! Thanks Nick for this video. These sneakers look great and you look super in them. Is that your apartment? Definitely not your office. Thanks for this one Nick.
Hi, what about sizing? I'm in UK and size UK 9. Really want Thursday's white sneakers and going by UK to us sizing I would need us 9.5. But found website saying that thursday boots are made half size larger so I would need us 9. Not sure what to order as return will not be easy and waste loads of time. Can anyone help?
Are they comfortable without socks on? I couldn't see in the pictures whether socks were on. The look of going sockless is better for me, but some wear no show or liners which don't make sense.
I did a video on no show socks right here: ua-cam.com/video/hXGyV4bB2E4/v-deo.html The shoes are a bit stiff to go fully sockless, which I hate doing anyway bc of sweaty feet!
Best pair of sneakers I have worn in that style Nick has been Magnanni's but they cost nearly 3 times the Thursdays and these look great ... Love your video's... This has to be the best sneaker for the money out there in this style, just like their boots, which I believe for the money are the best out there, all things considered...! GG...IN
I went with the distressed grey and I think they're a good value. I own the Koio Capri White's and find them much more substantial feeling, if that makes sense. I considered the white Thursday's but the metal eyelets deterred me.
I’m debating between Thursday’s white sneakers and Koio’s triple white capris. I know you said you deterred from the Thursday ones bc of the metal eyelets, but for the pair of Thursday sneakers you do have…if you were to go with only one for the value, quality, comfort, etc., would it be Koio’s or Thursday’s sneakers?
@@mikecapalungan Hi. There are several factors to consider. Price being an obvious one. Foot shape and size potentially being another (Koio doesn't come in half sizes, I sized down a full size from my Brannock). All things considered, I'd still choose Koio. A friend of mine has the white Thursday's and loves them though.
@@DMorgan77 yeah I’ll probably go with a size 8 going down a full size from my true shoe size being a 9. I can spend an extra $100 on quality shoes as they still seem better than alot of $300-$600 white sneakers (the koios). The Thursdays are nice, but I hear people have had many issues with it digging into you heel and causing bleeding. Though I heard they upgraded them so they don’t do that anymore, but I still just feel like the Koios seem/look better for quality overall if you put price aside
@@mikecapalungan I did the exact same thing. My Koio's are an 8 and my Brannock is 9. They felt snug at first, but I keep shoe trees in them after I broke them in. I haven't had the heel issue with my Thursday's, but they did cause pain in my little toe (they're my Brannock size for reference). I knew for me, I wouldn't be satisfied with the white Thursday's, so I understand spending a little more for a better product and getting what you want.
I know you said that these beat out even Koio for the value with its pricing, but money aside…which would you opt for over the other: Thursday’s white sneakers or the Koio capri triple white sneakers?
Mostly price, also Koio are slimmer which a lot of guys prioritize in shoes like these. Thursdays are more comfy for more dudes as they're a little wider. And like I said, some don't like the shinier eyelets.
@@Stridewise ah I see. I’ve heard and seen reviews that the Thursday sneakers dig into the back of your heels and have caused them to bleed and blister. So that’s what is putting me off a bit on those shoes. I don’t mind and quite frankly like the eyelets on the shoes, but I’m really digging the more minimal design of the Koio capris. Are the capris comfortable with the insoles they have?

Definitely a roomier upper last than BS though, so keep that in mind-have to really cinch down the laces for my foot to stabilize. I was also an 11.5 in Stan Smiths if that helps. Honestly, I’d order both sizes so you can do a true side by side comparison-maybe the 11s were fine and would loosen up with time. 🤷🏻♂️
One con you didn't mention: Especially with the cacao leather low tops, the top of the backstay cups around your heel really high and tends to rub your skin raw and press into your Achilles tendon area.
thanks for content. would love a review on some of their heritage leather sneakers
5:20
I am sure this is fairly obvious to a sneaker person but why do sneakers not use fully stitched? Why do they almost entirely have at least some form of glued construction?
Do they have any / much cushioning/ I'd prefer more of a running shoe comfort over something like a air jordan 1 or converse.
I don’t understand why I don’t have wide size I was very disappointing because I told my wife I really wanted them and Bree disappointing how do you
How's the width I wear a 14 regularly but sometimes some brands make there shoes narrow. Are these narrow compared to regular shoes?
How would you condition the leather both the standard and heritage version of these sneakers?
So i know service boot aesthetic is a big deal....but have you ever worn or bought an actual service boot??
I recommend at the front who makes the best wwii service boot o the market. I reenact and am also a boot guy and am blown away at them. Theyre 300 bucks so Id love to see you consider their products since they make the OG product.
Woul you say the this Thursday Premiere low fit the same as a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor? (other than the converse being high top)
How do these compare to Oliver Cabell's? No real comparisons between the two and both under $200. What is your opinion?
I think they fit small. I take a US9 in Nike and Brooks running shoes, Vans and Converse, but the Thursday Low 1s I just got are sooo tight. What’s worse is the ankle box gapes. I’m not sure if I should try a half size up. Quite disappointed as I’d heard such good things.
any sizing recommendations if I'm EU43? really on the fence if I should get 9.5 or 10
Hey i am EU43 and have the white one's in size 10 they fit me perfectly
How do these compare to the Coke Haan Grandpro topspin?
Also, thoughts on Cobblers Union boots???? Wanted your recommendations.....and thoughts. thanks!
I am not sure is there any better sneaker for same price! If so, please recommend.
You sold me on these. Jack purcell’s are what i usually wear in summer between boat shoes and jim greens
i bought them and they were pretty horrible.
@@louiscyfer6944 How so?
@@12012channel the leather feels like plastic and the shoe is very uncomfortable. i got the allen edmonds courtside sneakers and those are very
good.
Great job brother !!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you !!!!!!!!
I love Thursday Boot foot wears, (boots , snikars , shoes )
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Just bought pair of Thursdays toffee sneaker, very comfortable but already started to crease where to bends...
Yeah, that's leather for ya. ua-cam.com/video/bgDiGWxEQvs/v-deo.html
got a pair coming in today!
OluKai released Pahaha leather minimalist sneaker. Are they any good. Non half size. Made in China.
Got them because they are available off the shelf. Not so expensive.
The paint is cracking and falling off on mine after one wear
Contact Thursday. Great customer service
@@teikohdotcom isn’t that outside their warranty period and considered normal wear?
Hey man awesome review!! I am still waiting for your Thursday wingtip color #77 review though. Please do it
Hahaha I haven't even done the President review yet! Got so many to go
Does a sneaker like this have a heavy weight and a stiff sole? the white one looks flexible
Does the leather stretch because I’m usually a size 9.5 in sperrys and 9.5 or 10 in sneakers.
If I wasn't in absolute dire need of a shoe at that time I would've immediately sent it back.
is that a Naked & Famous Summer Sky 10 oz jeans? am I right?)
It is! Good eye. Talked 'em up here: ua-cam.com/video/yaE9fY92MKY/v-deo.html
How is the sole comfort for those of us with foot problems like plantar fasciitis? And high arches/wide feet?
Can't you get insoles?
I'm stuck between getting this or the Greats Royale in White. I already have Greats in black.
Are they meant to sport with out socks?
Hey Stride what jeans are those at 4:08 they look sweet
I belieeeeeeve those are my momotaros! ua-cam.com/video/MmIVCWwwHHA/v-deo.html
Cole Haan makes a great sneaker too.
I'd love to see you review some Oliver Sweeney footwear. They sell Italian made sneakers and boots here in the UK for a reasonable price
I can’t break in my white Thursday boot sneaker . They always break into my heal and hurts the following day . Any tips on how to break it in ?
Hi how I u.i Wich I can get it pls
Hey! I was wondering what brand jeans you were wearing in this video. (The light blue ish jeans). Thanks in advance! ~Daan
Hey Daan! These are Naked & Famous's Summer Sky, they're real lightweight. This year they have a similar jean called Sky High made with a little hemp, looks about the same though!
is the overall shoe narrow? my width is usually E or EE. Should I take half size bigger? Appreciate any input from anyone here. Thanks a ton!
It's actually less narrow than the competitors like Common Projects and Koio, but I feel like if you're sometimes EE you should go a half size bigger
What about the silhouette, does Thursdays shape similar to COMMON PROJECTS ? Which is slimmer in the toe box area ?
No! I should have put that in the cons, it’s not as slim as CP, but that means it’s friendlier on more foot types
I bought these in black. Love the look, and they feel good. However, the tongues move to the side of my foot. It really bothers me. I wish there was a loop to put the laces through that stops the tongue movement.
Just cut one small slit for the laces to go into with an exacto knife and it solved this problem for me. Hope that helps.
I have a pair of the white one in the mail. I've been wearing my other Frank and Oak white leather sneakers for about 2.5 years and they are getting a little beat up. I have high hopes that these ones will be a good replacement :)
Did they cut your heels?
Sneakers rule!! Thanks Nick for this video. These sneakers look great and you look super in them. Is that your apartment? Definitely not your office. Thanks for this one Nick.
Would any of you buy the crown Northampton cordovan sneaker?
Hi, what about sizing?
I'm in UK and size UK 9. Really want Thursday's white sneakers and going by UK to us sizing I would need us 9.5. But found website saying that thursday boots are made half size larger so I would need us 9. Not sure what to order as return will not be easy and waste loads of time. Can anyone help?
Do the materials on these clean up well After getting dirty?
I clean mine after each wear they look good!
Are they comfortable without socks on? I couldn't see in the pictures whether socks were on. The look of going sockless is better for me, but some wear no show or liners which don't make sense.
I did a video on no show socks right here: ua-cam.com/video/hXGyV4bB2E4/v-deo.html
The shoes are a bit stiff to go fully sockless, which I hate doing anyway bc of sweaty feet!
I wish they would make the white sneakers with black rubber sides and soles.
Fit and sizing: 6:18
Are these sneakers true to size?
Best pair of sneakers I have worn in that style Nick has been Magnanni's but they cost nearly 3 times the Thursdays and these look great ... Love your video's... This has to be the best sneaker for the money out there in this style, just like their boots, which I believe for the money are the best out there, all things considered...! GG...IN
I honestly hope the price on these stays this low 😂 If that’s the case I will soon have a whole collection.
@@DMorgan77 after the initial break in period, did the Koios become more spacious or are they snug still?
@@mikecapalungan Yeah! The Thursdays did use to do that but they just upgraded them so they don't anymore
Do hey crease easily and very quick?
Not a crazy amount
These fit me true to size but were a little too narrow. Couple wears fixed it though. . Awesome review strideman
Thanks dude!
I just got mine and they are cutting my heel. Did yours?
@@oscarbarrera6081 not really. the suede padding on the rear heal inner lining seems to prevent that for me
What is their rival? collier?
Oh man, I've been so close to impulse buying the Natural CXL or Waxed Flesh sneakers for a while now
I just got the white ones. Shouldn't they smell like leather? All I smell is a toxic glue.
Thursday boots, killin it again! I've got a Captain and a Duke and I love them both. I grabbed a pair of Beckett Siminon GATs, and also the Royal from Greats which are great lol but the sole is quite hard. Glad to see Thursday back at it, and I'll definitely check them out for my next pair.
Let us know what you think!
How much do they weigh?
Just wish they would open a store in Europe. Shipping for me on any of their boots is gonna cost 50% more just for the shipping. Like $200 boots is $300 for me.
I ordered a pair from Thursday Boots , they run small ,so keep that in mind if you go with these . I ended up returning them , and decided to go in a different direction . They really are well made though .
How small do they run compared to vans? I wear 13 vans but was thinking about getting 13.5 thursdays based on comments like yours.
@@davidsavage519 what size did you end up going with? I too wear Vans and I'm interested in trying out Thursday's shoes
@@steel128 I got 13.5 but it was too big so I went with 13, same as the vans
@@davidsavage519 thanks man, that was very helpful! Any experience with their boots? I was thinking of grabbing a pair of them as well. Was wondering if I should stick to my size in Van's or go a half size smaller
@@steel128 Ironically I just bought their boots last week haha. Go half a size down like they say.
If comparing to the North Hampton sneaker as good, better
That’s what I want to know also!
The difference between watching a Stridewise review and any other gear channel: nice review, but can they pistol squat?
Hahaha! That is my most important skill
I don’t like the back part of the sneaker. It digs into my Achilles. Also curious to know how you kept no show socks on or are you going sockless?
same here. ive bled wayy too much on these sneakers
@@JohnnyVichi yeah it left nasty blisters for me. I even tried wearing thick socks with them but it just wore the socks down raw. Honestly one of the worst purchases in my life.

@@JohnnyVichi nice man. I feel more people need know more about them. Seems like some of these reviews are pretty biased. Some of the other people I spoke to had very similar problems I did.
