I'm not a sneaker guy but they are well made and to order. If you know something about shoes, Northampton is the home of hand-built shoes, which are designed to be resoled.
@Kevin E Both the options you suggest are very good. Go with what you prefer and suits your wardrobe. Shell cordovan is maintained in a slightly different way to full grain leather. If you want to lighten the tone of cordovan naturally, leave the shoes in the sun for a day.

I love my white derbies. They're so minimalist looking it's unbelievable. They might not have a leather insole but the fibre board is still very strong after 1 year of use. They provide an extra foam insert that you can stick on top of the insole for added comfort and durability.
Having watched all the white sneaker video on this channel. This one sticks out immediately on first sight. I dont know how, why, or what. May be it is love or art type of thing. But there is something about this shoes, even just from the video alone, felt very good. I guess Steve Jobs put it best, "Somehow, in the act of making something with a great deal of care and love, something is transmitted there." Thanks You for bringing Crown Northampton to my radar.
Great video. I have several pairs of their sneakers. By far my favorites. I also have a couple pairs of their horween hi-tops. I have had some of these for over a year and I wear them all the time. I find that they are so well made, they look as good now as when I got them. I just make sure to clean and condition the leather periodically. One other thing I like about them is that if you are looking for a style/color combo you don't see on their website, they will make it for you if you ask them. They have done this for me. They are one of the most responsive companies I've ever ordered from.
My favorite white sneakers are the good man brand edge lo-top. You can find them on sale for 100 on occasion, but generally are 200. I have two pairs. I did modified them to remove the branding as I do not like branding on shoes, but for 100 (What I paid), made in Italy and with Morgom sole and built like the CP.
I’m so glad you got to include these in the series. One thing you didn’t mention is that Crown offer a resolving service, which I suspect is not available for many of the comparable shoes in this series apart from the Goral. My only disappointment is that they don’t have a leather insole like the Goral, but on the other hand, they’re much cheaper than Goral. I think if I were in the market for sneakers, I’d opt for these, perhaps in the wholecut style with Hoween leather as opposed to white. I look forward to the next Moc Toe series with interest.
I have the Crown Northampton Overstone Hi Derby in Horween Natural Chromexcel. Best shoes I’ve ever worn! Fantastic customer service and the quality is perfect. Takes some time to wear them in though, but you can send them back to be resoled-just that was a big selling point for me.
How are they a year later, I'm thinking of buying a pair of the Overstone hi derby shoes because I want a pair that will last. Also I live about a mile from the village of Overstone and used to play for their cricket team.
@@tehcolemanator4179 Still my favorite pair of sneakers ever, worn in, looking good and i will send them in for resoling this winter. I recommend them.

One of either the Made in USA or England versions. They are advertised as using "premium materials" and it would be cool to see what you think. Also interesting would be a Danner boot teardown. I have a pair of gore-tex Mountain Light's that have held up pretty well for 5 years or so. Keep up the good work!
I have never liked sneakers. Not wearing them and not how they look. My feet have just destroyed every sneaker I've tried. Especially white ones. But this series has been informative. These Crown Northhamptons look thoughtfully designed and the best made so far. I can believe I'm saying this but I really like how the leather looks from the lasting etc.
I’m not a sneaker guy by any means, but this clean and simple handcrafted leather shoe really tics some boxes. When I saw the episode about the common projects I thought that’s crazy money for a pair of white sneakers. Buy now it gets me thinking. How do they look with regular wear? Will they develop an interesting patina? Or does one usually clean those shoes excessively?
