- In my sewing room today I am showing some fabrics that I bought recently from a few different places. Hope you enjoy the video and some of the ideas I have for the fabric.

Carole, I love that mauve cable knit. Great for a cardigan! Definitely. I like the striped fabric with the Malva Tee for sure! And my favorite it the fuschia fabric. All great plans. 💝

Yes, make the pink one first! They're all good and will be fun to see them come to life as clothes - if not, they will wind up on the Fabric Wheel of Fate waiting to be chosen, and no fabric wants that, right 😂?!?

Hi Carole. Loving the fabric. I don't have a big stash either and generally try and buy with a pattern in mind. However, I do LOVE watching other peoples fabric hauls. Apparently palazzo's pants are in. I purchased fabric last week with making some in mind, I just need to make my pattern up. Am keeping it simple with a flat front and elasticated back. They won't be too flarey though (is that even a word), but hopefully just swishy enough. Looking forward to your makes. 😊
Hi Ann, hearing that palazzo pants are in is great news! What is good about them is they don't have to be a complicated design, the fabric makes the statement not the shape. Swishy and not too flarey(!) sounds perfect to me! Thanks so much for watching 🤣🧵

Ooo I love the white jacquard. That might be fab for my white la blouse 🤔 the other fabrics are beautiful. That leaf fabric would look fab as palazzo (probably spelt wrong😂) pants, who cares if they are in fashion?
Fab plans! I don't find the measuring tapes helpful either. 😂

I love all your new fabrics, but that first one, wow! I’m in love with it, it’s your color! It needs to be by your face, a blouse or dress for sure. I also think that fabric with the big leaves is more suited for bottoms, just my opinion. The stripes will make a great Malva T-shirt. Great video, as always. 😊
Hi Sue, the pink one seems to be a winner and I can't wait to sew that up. You are right about the big leaved fabric, my mother's face when she saw it was a picture 🤣. She calmed down a bit when I said I may use it for a skirt or trousers! I wore my Malva tee today and am still so happy with it. Have a great weekend 🧵😊

Loved your video Carole. I have a question: I am in need of a not too costly tool for installing the poppers. My sewing machine cannot be trusted to make successful buttonholes in all fabrics, and I now have several garments in need of fasteners, so I thought I would try snaps. I have a tool( sort of a pliers type) that I purchased many years ago, but It's not too great. Wondering what you use and where to get a dependable one. Thank you for your time. 🥰
Hi Theresa. Poppers.... oh my! Not my favourite thing either I'm afraid. I have the Prym pliers and find it does an ok job but actually I discovered that the poppers certainly do vary in quality. Check your pliers still line up well as I realise with my older pair they were very slightly out therefore the poppers wouldn't align. It also depends what type of garments you need them for. I find the metal ones work well, it's the child/baby plastic ones that caused the most headaches! Re buttonholes, until I bought my new Juki I didn't realise how much easier doing buttonholes is with a buttonhole stabiliser plate. I discovered that a tool I had with my old Janome was exactly that and I had never used it and just accused my machine of being bad at buttonholes 🤣. Have a look and see if you can get one for your machine and if it makes a difference. Hope some of that helps! 🧵😊
@@socarole66 🥰Thank you Carole for that info. I will check out the Prym pliers. Wish me luck! I too have a Jenome sewing machine and it did come with a buttonhole attachment. It seems if there is a slight difference in the thickness of the fabrics(like in a buttonhole placket, say on a shirtdress) it can throw off the attachment and it sews over and over and over in the same place. Ugh! I hate having to unpick buttonhole stitches. Thanks again Carole.
