I forgot to say about the pot holders was that I just couldn't get the video you followed at all for starting off, I think I did it 10 times before I gave up and found another video where they started differently. I just couldn't get where you had to do the chain stitches then sew into the back of them, I was useless at it 😂. I really enjoy making them though as you can just pick it up and don't have to count at all. You have revived my love for crochet! Hope you have a good Sunday and are managing to get some sewing done 💗😘

So nice you had a great time in Florida - the garden is lovely - if you are ever near Philadelphia in the state of Pennsylvania, there is a fabulous place called Longwood Gardens that is just amazing - and it has a carillon bell tower, too! Looking forward to seeing all the treasures you lugged back to Britain!
Thanks so much for that suggestion of another garden and I just had a look at it, it looks gorgeous. Pennsylvania is a state we have never been to so maybe we should put that on our list! Hi Karen, we did have a super time away, how could we not in Florida! We have had a lot of happy family holidays over the years in your state, we honeymooned there in 1988 and have loved it ever since. Beautiful pink top Carole. I'm so happy to hear your trip was so much fun and that you were able to make time to see some of your friends as well. I have some college students who live with me and they all crochet. I showed them your coaster and we talked about how pretty some crochet edging would look on a table runner. I have tons of linin, maybe I'll pull some out and let them try. I am trying to finish up a smocked dress for my newest granddaughter. The smocking is finished, I just need to finish sewing it all together. Her family will be visiting in June so I wanted to have some cute dresses made up for her. Thanks for sharing all the lovely pictures.
Thank you Carol, we really did have a good holiday. It was funny you should mention about that coaster as someone said about a quilt where the pieces are connected by crochet. A table runner sounds a good project to start with. The smocked dresses sound a wonderful idea, that is something I have never had a go at. Thanks Grace, that Burda top is simple but for some reason it always comes out well, no matter how big the sleeves! Honestly, I was overwhelmed with that bag, thank you again. I better head over to Florida next year again as I miss you all already 😘x

Hi Carole! Going on a holiday like you had is such a lot of fun but I know how great it feels to be home again and getting back in to a more normal routine of life again. Back to the ol' grindstone! I am so glad that I had a chance to spend some time with you and finally meet Chris. I look forward to many more visits! Also, I was so glad to hear that were able to make it out to see Trish. I can well imagine how the boys really enjoyed all the animals. Did they want to take any home with them? LOLOLOL... Anyway, happy sewing!!
Oh Deb, I so enjoyed our meet up and I don't think I have I actually thanked you for driving us around! Thank you 😘. I do hope I can find an excuse to come over again next year although Chris is 60 next year and may have other plans. Maybe I should do a solo trip!! Those boys loved the farm and the animals and they really didn't want to leave. The whole family just loved Trish and the peace and quiet of the farm after 2 weeks of Disney mayhem 😂. Luckily the boys were happy to leave the animals but seeing Trish's doggie really made them sad about missing their own. All back now to normal life and I agree, although it is lovely to travel, there is no place like home! Have a good weekend 💗😘
Chris is going to be 60 next year! Oh my, he's catching up to me real fast!! LOLOLOL... It may take you a while to recoup from this Florida vacay.
I hope that in the near future that I would be able to travel to Great Britain at least one more time. Now that I know what my "issue" is and I'm dealing with it, I might be able to handle the journey. I hope! Time will tell on that one. Take care now!!
I live just a it south of Boc Tower! Lovely place. The Estate on the property is decorated BEAUTIFULLY at Christmas.
I imagine it is such a magical place to go in Summer. It was so lovely to go there as quite reminiscent of some country houses and gardens where I live. If you live near there then you will know of Spook Hill....well we tried it and nothing happened but it was interesting to read the legend behind it 😂. Thanks so much for watching 🧵😊

Bok Tower Gardens is one of my favorite places on earth. Glad you visited. Hope you also went to the Ocala state park. It’s really lovely, thanks.
Oh it really is the most tranquil place and so near to the hustle and bustle of Orlando. As I said to Nancy below, I just googled places to go to escape Disney! We also had time to visit Lake Louisa which was also very pretty, we did a couple of walks there. We haven't been to Ocala state park but have done Silver Springs a couple of times which we have enjoyed. Thanks so much for watching 🧵😊

@socarole66 it is worth checking the LN page on Friday - they do 1 pattern on sale each week for 5$. I'm not sure when this pattern will be on sale. it's a new one, so probably not soon. However, they do occasionally 40%off the sale. If you will sign the newsletter, you will get notified

We did have a wonderful time and with all family holidays, you never quite know how they will turn out!! I have to say those Raph tops took much longer than they should have but I am pleased with them. Pinky's farm is all you imagined, I could stay there for days. What a wonderful family trip and the bonus of meeting up with friends. Good times had by all. Great pictures! You are such a sweet, lovely woman, how happy I am for you! Just wanted to mention something about the crochet. I came upon a quilt made in the same way, squares sewn together, quilted and then crocheted together. It was so beautiful. Very vintage looking as it was done in very neutral fabrics. Add to my never ending to do list. The Burda top is really cute, need to try that one. Never used a Burda or a Style Arc pattern, maybe soon. The pictures of the gardens, so beautiful and a nice break. Thank you for sharing. See you soon!

Nothing I make is perfect!! No matter how much I try. If I only wore “perfect”, I wouldn’t wear anything I made. It used to really bother me but nobody knows but me. I have come to the conclusion that I will NEVER be a “Karina from Lifting Pins & Needles” so I just need to sew and enjoy.

Only been sewing around 3 years and have been sticking to indie patterns but having seen so many lovely things you have made im really tempted to try the big 4. Always feel like the patterns ive used so far have held my hand as the instructions are very good, are the big 4 as good?
Hello and thank you so much for finding my channel, you are most welcome! I do a few Indie patterns and I have to say, sometimes their instructions confuse me and actually over complicate things! I think you could easily cope with a Big 4 pattern and there are so many patterns listed as Easy or Learn To Sew, they would be good to start with. They give basic instructions on every packet and I find most of the time there instructions are really good, yes there are a few which are a bit vague but not on the simpler designs. I think to be honest it is a myth that they are hard to do. I think New Look are the easiest, then Simplicity. Vogue can be tricker and i have only done the simple vogue ones for that reason. I really wish you good luck and if you do get stuck please let me know or just do a youtube search, lots of people do sewalongs for the Big 4. Have fun! 🧵😊
Hello I was wondering if Hobby Lobby had their New Look patterns marked down while you were in the states? They are no longer going to carry them and have them markdown to $.99 and I instantly thought of you. I even picked up a couple that you showed in your favorites a couple weeks ago. I think it was.
Sadly I missed the 99c sale at Hobby Lobby but they were reduced a bit when I was there. I have to say though I went through the drawers and decided I had most of them 😂. It scares me that they are stopping selling them though, I hope that isn't the sign of something to come. I'm glad you managed to pick some up. Thanks so much for thinking of me and letting me know.
