I dont know what I am doing wrong but first of all I just get bigger chunks of like 15 cards or more by sliding with the thumb. Second the bottom edge of the cards start stuck on my hand at half the way.... is it my really small hand or the presure i got with my thumb holding the deck? (Im using a fresh deck of cards)
Thanks so much for this. The explanation of "rolling" your thumb tip-to-pad as you spread the Fan is a HUGE help & necessary. Been practicing the Fan for months and always had inconsistent results. This is a massive help!
This video was the first legit cardistry I learnt, as a result I made a magic trick channel yesterday (starting with this fan!) Prewarning its quite bad.
with anyone struggling with the one hand close, I found my mistake. I wouldn't say it's a flick, more of a pull. The most important things were those 2 first fingers CURLED, not straight.
Funny thing to me is when he said "you want to have new cards" I saw he had the same card i had gotten 2 days ago (blue Bicycle Playing Cards) very convenient 😂😂😁
Wow, I've been waiting for this now too long but the quality in this video is very very good. Thumbs up man But I've got a little tip. I video should have a nice start that says what we (the viewers) are about to see (like you did that) and it should have a nice ending, I think you've just forgotten that here. :)
Hi there! Useful tutorials, thanks!! I have a question though.... Do you know any webside where i could find that mat?? It's really difficult ( if not impossible...) to find one of those in Barcelona! Thanks!!
Maybe it's because i have smaller hands and the grip is naturally tighter... but i have an easier time doing the one-handed close with my middle finger just off the edge of the bottom cards corner then pushing my pointer finger forward toward it so that the card pivots around my middle finger... then just draw the middle finger in slowly while this is done to bring the packet square. I can do this at just about any speed comfortably.
Great tutorial. Thanks. I am just learning new cardistry tricks. I am trying to learning the close along with the spread. My spreads are kinda distributed but there are big lumps in it. When I try to close though, I am able to push just the one card back. Does that have to do with the spread not being even? Any tips.
Is there anything wrong (from a technique standpoint, that might hinder other moves) with using your index finger instead of your thumb to fan the cards? I learned to do it with that finger, and while I'm sure with enough practice I can do it with the thumb, I seem more comfortable with the index finger.
I don't think so. Well it is a $25 dollar value or something similar, so you'll need to buy bit it separately, that's why the Kickstarter is always the best way to purchase something.
You should do it on the tip of your index. The tut from dimitri's dvd is kinda outdated (at that time he only did 180 degrees one ). So there is no tut on 360 riffle fan that is taught by dimitri. Like I said, use the tip of your index to generate the fan, and watch the performances of those who can do it, like jack nobile, as you said, or even dimitri himself ( check out fontaine video: old zoo )
Why does my deck fan chunks of cards rather than one by one? I am pressing with my thumb, I have the deck bevelled like a ribbon spread, still can't do it.
Just bought a new deck but i can neither do a finger fan or thumb fan. The strange thing is,i can do the finger fan on my old deck. The new one would just be in clump when i finger fan it......any ideas?
I JUST SPENT THE PAST HOUR DOING THIS MISSING THE PRESSURE STEP. I feel like an idiot lol, as soon as I started pressing with my thumb I am doing 3x better.
Why is there no good tutorial on the thumb fan? Your is the best but I still just don't understand... no one tells you about the grip on the cards themselves just the other hand moving them? I mean that in I know how to hold them but how much pressure/should I loosen up while fanning the cards out/If the cards won't all spread out is it because my hands don't have the space to do a whole deck? See problems like that are never talked about and I don't get why
are you using all the cards or just the half of it? i am using all the cards but a stack of cards are always left out by the end of my fan... anyone that could help me? (sorry for my eng)
it keeps doing chunks its a new bicycle i bought today and i just washed my hands so not sweaty but it does chunks and stops at the end with like 80% of the deck can someone help please
Even after watching the video multiple times, I always run out of room for the top card to make the turn. The corner of it always hits that meaty "pad" near my thumb finger.
I know this video is a bit older, but can someone help me with the single-handed close? My problem is the bottom card keeps slipping past the others, rather than closing them up. So I then have The bottom card at essentially the same point as the top card, but the rest of the cards don't move.
Having short fingers/small hands are just a curse... Not only does it make playing instruments hard, it also makes many cardisrry tricks like this hard aswell...
@@mattpeters4700 yeah, it's prob possible but I'm gonna have to find a way to make it not run into my palm smoothly... Have you tried the Charlie's cut? I feel like it's impossible with my small hands lol
@@walwal6449 Yeah for the charlie cut I abandon the way the show it and kind of balance the packs on each other. There is a youtuber named Cardis Tree who has small hands that has taught me a ton. Check him out.
@@mattpeters4700 ohh thanks, definitely gonna check his vids out! Do you have any specific recommendations on his vids for beginners? Couldn't find anything about the Charlie cut (or maybe I just need to dig more) but I'm a complete beginner to cardistry so I really need to learn the basics
@@walwal6449 Any of his vids about small hands have good info. I think the second one teaches his variation of charlie its the one that also teaches revolution (which I find easier actually)
After I get halfway through the fan, the rest of the deck just glides as a brick and won't fan anymore. Brand new deck but they still stick. I have to push it from the bottom with my fingers (cheating) and it's really inconsistent. What's the trick here?
Yeah I'm using air cushion cards... the Bicycle Black Tiger deck. Maybe I got a bad batch - they just aren't as smooth as my other ones. My new Bicycle Steam Punk and Madison Rounders decks fan great
1.get hype
2. buy bicycle deck
3. give a shot with level 1000 confidence
4. always fail
5. go back to the normal life.
Lmao
This is actually a decent tutorial, I can’t find many good ones like this
Probably the best breakdown I've seen over the years
Try and start the practice of this flourish with half a deck. It's much easier and makes experimenting alot easier.
It true
I dont know what I am doing wrong but first of all I just get bigger chunks of like 15 cards or more by sliding with the thumb. PJ CJ that happened to and I have big hands
Exactly
It's a lot easier when u have smaller hands.
Him: it’s kinda difficult to do slowly
Also him: *does it perfectly slowly*
Man, this is actually a lot harder than the fan itself!
My favorite channel on youtube

Great tutorial, thanks for breaking it down and making it so simple

awesome tutorial Asad. Keep up the great work.
dude! your skills are mad!
I have seen many Turorials over the thumb fan, but they have not really helped me. Thanks to your tutorial I can it now. :D
Thank you very much!

Hi
I have watched SO MANY tutorials on THUMB FAN. But why can't I do it properly???
with anyone struggling with the one hand close, I found my mistake. I wouldn't say it's a flick, more of a pull. The most important things were those 2 first fingers CURLED, not straight.
Right, I thought that too. It's more like pivoting the card with two fingers.
Heres a closure tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/oFrcftoVk9I/v-deo.html
can't wait to receive the black mint deck soon ~
THX ASAD I JUST GOT MY PACKAGE TODAY ( INVISIBLE DECK(RED) STRIPPER DECK(BLUE) AND THUMB TIP!!!! FAST SHIPPING

Nice tutorial!
for starters on the 1h closer..
you could slightly tilt the fan downwards..
gravity should do the trick..
Hey Asad could you please do a tutorial on the Riffle Fan? That would be very helpful!
Ps. Great tutorial again!
Nice Tutorial!! :D
I put the 3000th like on the video
I ordered the exact kind of cards used in this video

Same but he did a tutorial on the fan in the past
+Nick Garcia I know. :D
Will you please make a card production trick. I really like those. Thanks.
I do the same fan with my index finger, I don't know if there is any disadvantage to that, but the fan looks pretty even anyway.
+Linck192 Either finger works :)
my fan is so tiny all of the girls are going to laugh at me
I absolutely cannot stand your voice but you're a great teacher so I guess we both win hahahahah

Just a little more than enough to hold it.
Can it be done with right hand
Great!
can cards be to slippery cause my fan had huge breaks in it and no matter what pressure i put on it it still broke and fell!

Can thumb fan be made with plastic cards?

Does it work with long nails?
would having a small hand affect this?
nah, my hands are very small and i can do it.
Azad what do you do to the deck after doing a video............
he keep it
That wad my fav ever thumb fan tutorials but my problem is cards keep falling off my hand
Even after watching the video multiple times, I always run out of room for the top card to make the turn. The corner of it always hits that meaty "pad" near my thumb finger.
i can make it fan forward and then back but i cant make a perfect 1 stride fan. help

thats shin lim right?
I made my own channel because you inspire me
can I do it with old deck
You can but it will be a lot harder,
and the cards will maybe get stuck at some point in the fan if you understands right
I have a problem where at the last part of fanning it clumps 😡
Can I do this with the Uno cards?

+Scott Lockhart It's coming soon We're wrapping up the final touches on the backer survey.
That cool, just thought by mistake I hadn't received one.

can you do a card tricks vids

Try moving your thumb up faster.
I can't close it. The bottom card just slides to the closed position but the rest of the cards stay open.

The last shot of the underneath the hands move like spiders and it fucking freaks me right out.
you already made a tutorial on this.

How is possiblew i find it easier to close the fan than to make it :'/

good tutorial but i think the one handed closure could be better explained
