My personal take on the "10 levels" format, but applied to sleight-of-hand. Enjoy!

This is NOT meant to be an instructional video on how to cheat at cards or on how to protect yourself from cheating. I make these videos for entertainment so that people can more deeply appreciate the craft and the art of sleight-of-hand. That said, a camera change does hide what the trick would look like if it was still being viewed from the previous camera, so I guess it doesnt matter either way

I'm not sure I'd ever get into this stuff, but I love watching your videos explaining it all.
OK. So I had the opportunity to see your life show two or three nights ago and it was beyond incredible. If people reading this, John Cody, your life show they are missing out on a whole bunch. I am the guy who took a guess at your last trick. If I could be so bold to make one suggestion, and there is absolutely no reason why you should listen to me I think you should do this routine with the 10 levels of cheating in your show. Most of the people on UA-cam are coming because I have seen you do the card magic. The other magic is also fantastic but I think this card magic and particularly this demonstration would put it over the top. In any event, it was one of the best evenings I have ever had. Thank you.

Perfect. So good and such a great method for demonstration. I love seeing a true master of anything but everyone love’s slight of hand. I do rudimentary slight of hand for my 6 yr old and now near 3 yr old and the pure joy on their faces is amazing. It’s almost magical!

You might be kidding, but if you try your hand at controlling the deck, it can be hard to shut out the part that says "oh that card is now there, then..." I actually try to make sure I mix up the bottom card for example, because I feel like I'm cheating otherwise.
And no, I'm not very good. Just a few false shuffles.
I imagine the problem would more be that he'd know where every card was
I mean, all his tricks require him knowing how the cards are laid out in the first place. So if he starts with a deck that he doesn't really know the exact layout of, none of the tricks work

As a former professional poker dealer that’s dealt around the world I can say this is tens of thousands of hours of practice. I’ve seen good mechanics before but I’m absolutely floored by this. I’ve never seen anything close to this level. Amazing.
Can you do any of these? Do the tricks get exponentially harder higher you go in level?
How much practice do you think all the individual levels require?
@@tappajaav I can do some cool-ish things at a poker table to add some excitement to the game but nothing close to this. Look up Richard Turner, he’s the best mechanic in the world. The guy can feel each individual card while he’s shuffling and he’s 100% legit. He practiced for tens of thousands of hours to be able to do it.

I would point out that we don't really know if it's a single take. It's presented to appear as one. But there are cuts in every trick, and we'd never know if the recording was stitched together. I'm not saying the tricks were faked, but it may be possible that some took multiple attempts at least, we just don't know. And the beauty of magic is we'll never know :)

Practice, practice, practice. On the easy tricks I can see it being done, but on the stuff like whole deck control his precision is amazing. I know what he is doing, I just can't believe he is doing it.
I guess the first level is the hardest. From there it is just more of the same sorta. Your brain will learn with time. Mastery.

I had a friend who could deal himself Aces at will, so when we played poker someone would have to shuffle for him. He wanted us to do it so that if he ever got Aces we wouldn't freak out.

honestly, I _do_ believe he has the skill and talent and practice to run this whole thing in one take (or live), buuuuuuuut you can't forget about all the cuts in the videos. if he's clever enough to do all of these, he's clever enough to edit out a mistake or two.
