    Hi Mike,
    A big shout-out to you for all the great work you’ve been doing here.
    I only found your channel a few weeks ago but subscribed pretty quickly.
    I completed my first pc build over the weekend (owned a lot of PCs but never built one myself) and your videos, especially on Kolink Citadel Mesh RGB, MSI B550m Pro-VDH wifi and BIOS setup, have been an immense help.
    I decided to go for the system with integrated graphics and chose Ryzen 7 5700G and everything is working really well so far.
    I’m using 1 TB Crucial P3 Plus PCIe 4.0 NVMe ssd at the moment but found out only yesterday that the processor doesn’t support PCIe 4.0 so I guess my ssd is not currently being utilised to it’s full potential. A rookie mistake/oversight I guess.
    Not all is lost, however, as I am already planning my next build, this time with a discrete GPU and a processor supporting PCIe 4.0 so I will just use this ssd in my new build and will get something cheaper for this one.
    Thanks again and I guess I’ll be back for some more useful tips and tutorials pretty soon. 😊

    This feature is what was really needed with AMD's long socket support. Having to find an older cpu just to update was a pain in the back's bottom. I'Ll never buy a motherboard without that feature again, as I ometime forget to flash the bios to the latest one before fully assemble the new one with the newer parts, so resell it is not as easy as it should. I dont like having to remove the cpu and ram of a fully funtional computer just to flash an older board.

    I've been subscribed for some time as I enjoy much of your PC content when I can find time to watch it, on this occasion though I find myself a bit dismayed and confused, I've always been told not to update a bios beta and almost every youtuber I've seen do a bios as part of their build or "how to" have advised to use the previous bios update NOT the beta. Is there a reason why you think differently? thanks.

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  Рік тому +1

      yes with this current generation there are improvements in the beta that make it worth the risk. Also almost every msi beta has gone on to be a regular release after a short validation period.
      The memory support and faster boot times make these current crop of betas worth using.
      Also thanks for questioning the reasoning behind this i never want to be in an echo chamber, so please do keep on asking questions and challenging us when you think we might be off the mark.

    If your flash drive or external hard drive is larger than 32gb you can use Disk Management to delete the volume, then create a disk with less than 32gb, this way you'll be able to select the FAT32 File system.

      truth is most B650 won't need it unless you want better RAM support or stability, so at the moment you can do it when you like.

    I havent done much bios flashing and tbh the matter scares me a bit cause i can see myself fucking it up somehow 😂 But there is one matter you touched upon at the end which i kinda wanted to reclarify if i understood you correctly; You somehow screw the process, the fact that board supports qflash or qflash+ (this works on both or needs +?) makes it irrelevant cause flashing that way works even if the current bios is fubar?
    Oh yea and regarding usb stick, does it just as well with 64gb stick if you partition it so you can format it to fat32 or does this pose higher risk somehow?

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  9 місяців тому

      the idea of qflash is to replace or recover a bios in a non booting PC so unless you somehow damage the circuits that operate the flashblack even a screwed up flash can be recovered in almost every instance.
      due to the really basic nature of the system i would encourage using a smaller than 32GB drive if possible but smaller partitions on larger drives have been known to work

Not sure if it's an issue with the USB stick being an older 2.0 vs 3.0 so that's why it was taking so long? From what I've read it's okay to turn off the power and retry it again since the Flashback option can be used for corrupted BIOS recovery.
