At 3:47, I forgot to add a tape note. The weapon is capable of one-shotting Wavebreaker with a critical hit. I was just trying to show how much damage was required when you're not standing right next to it. 10:47 you can also flick your camera during a lunge to confuse the enemy, you dont just just have to go straight forward from the starting position. General Splatana facts that I couldn't find a place to include in the guide: - Similar to Brushes and Rollers, Run Speed Up has no effect on Splatana's strafe speed. Its strafe speed is already incredible, but it can't be made any better unfortunately. - Splatanas can walk up to an Ink Vac and crit them FROM THE FRONT.
iirc splatanas can also hit the one-shot with no ink, albeit with a waaay slower charge time Prolly not too useful but it's still pretty interesting imo
For the Splatana Wiper. You can do a minimum of 15 damage. You just need to aim on another target while your next to another player (if the wiper part hits). Another thing is if you are literally in front of an enemy and you lunge with the charged swipe, you may miss.
@@ScarletEmber64 That's only because your ink tank still slowly recovers when you're not submerged in ink, it works the same way with all the other weapons that have a charge mechanic
Another thing you can do with the lunge is you can turn your camera to get the slash off if they end up moving while you’re lunging. This could also be something you use with your super jump in case someone camping you tries to avoid the 1 shot by moving to the side when you’re using the lunge.
its a very integral part of splatanas IMO ! most get turned off by the dash but being able to move quickly AND buffer your slash for a couple frames to adjust it is honestly incredible. it creates some very fun mix ups and (most fun) lets you crit around sharp corners
As a Splatana Wiper main and Splat Dualie main, I approve this video! Like seriously this video taught me some techniques I NEVER even thought of. Thanks man ❤
Vanilla Wiper is the more aggressive version of the two. Since deco has beakon and missiles it has a more supportive and slower playstyle, since it will be playing for missiles more than vanilla would be playing for stamp. There's one combo I'm not sure was mentioned, but with a slash attack and one up close horizontal flick with kill since the slash does 60 and the up close flick does 45 (105 total)
the additional 15 damage done up close with the horizontal slash is its own hitbox. meaning you can hit some body to your immediate left or right with this hitbox.
as a day one splatana wiper main i approve your guide you got everything mostly correct how you talk about the charge and not charge shoot the dash swip everything is very correct so i say if someone wants too be good with wiper and need a guide this is the go
been playin wiper since launch of 3, i think this video goes over everything generally well, one other thing is that if you lunge in a direction you can flick your camera during the lunge to flick in a different direction as the lunge as another mix up.
Thanks for doing this guide! The splatana wiper is probably my favorite weapon in the game right now, love its fast playstyle. Always enjoy seeing how others make use of it :)
This vid help me with my wiper soo much. I’m much more constent now. Especially the jump while swipe tec and the less use of swipe dashing is a game changer.

Greatly appreciate these tips! Wiper is a weapon I've always enjoyed using just for the freedom of movement it brings, but I've never been able to get great results with it in the past; I'm looking forward to giving it another honest attempt.
I tried to start off with splatana wiper, but I just wasn’t feeling for it and went to the stamper. This helps me build a bit of confidence with the wiper now, so I thank you for this vid!
I'm a Splatana wiper main, just got my 5 star badge, and I still learned from this video! Had no clue enemies couldn't destroy torpedo on the ground, nor that you could lunge directly after super jumping!
Awesome video, as always! I 5★ wiper and have been using it a lot but still learned a lot from this video! Will definitely try more slash dashing and such
It's true, it was something I decided not to include as it felt too redundant with the other advanced techniques I discussed. But I think people who get into the weapon will be able to figure that out. I'll address it in the pinned comment also
i find this guide interesting because i have been experimenting with he splatana wiper since day 1 and i have honestly found some cool facts that were shown into the video (like wall camping or as i like to call it ledge hugging) and some that weren't like how if you have enough ink you can throw a torpedo behind an opponent so they either have to deal with you first or deal with the torpedo. the chunks i use are 3 mini superjump with drop roller so you can make up for lost time after getting splatted, 3 mini and 1 main special charge up for obvious reasons, and 3 mini and 1 main special up so i can have a longer stamper time to move/splat/ or disorient people. the one takeaway i have for this video is the amount of quick respawn because after one splat the respawn chunks become less effective and it especially true for a weapon that is meant for the front lines or sneaking into enemy territory.
I love that the splatana wiper is not gear dependant, it lets you get extra creative with your abilities and easily adapt to your playstyle! For exemple, my builds are usually swim speed up+++, intensify action, ink resistance, ink saver and ninja squid. Where most people choose to balance out their weapon, I chose to push its advantages to the max! Is it balanced? Absolutely not. But it is how I have the most fun with this weapon and how I preform best!!! The wiper lets you have unhinged builds and I think it's beautiful 😂❤
I’m that one weirdo that uses ink saver main and sub with tenacity on my vanilla wiper so I can be aggressive with torpedoes or just by sitting back and farming for stamps
A tip for using Ultra Stamp: when you throw the stamp at someone, immediately throw a torpedo in that location too. If they don't die from the throw, they'll be low HP and the torpedo will finish them off as it hones in on them. And right before you throw, try to dip into your ink and back up a bit before throwing. Many people will shoot at you as you stop to throw it, so this makes you harder to hit in that moment.
Good guide. As a Wiper mainn, I find that QR isn't as effective as it used to be (that's what we've said with other gun players), and I only use one in my hand. I have special equipment that allows me to better manage the amount of ink I use, and to swim faster.
Hey Chase! I was matched against you in one anarchy series game on Mahi when you were playing Bamboozler! It was great to see you in a game! The sad part was, it was just my rank up battle lmao, another silver X player was on your team too, Nintendo, why🤣
One tip that I've been using with ultrastamp is to use it as like a stealth weapon to get free easy kill first and then rush in to get a couple free easy kills when you first use it and not die immediately when you use ultra stamp
a few other miscellaneous tips to add: - as of the time of this comment, wiper is still able to 1-shot a booyah bomb with a vertical projectile as it’s landing from its throw due to a bug. this may get fixed in a future patch. - the lunge ignores gravity and terrain as long as you can start it on neutral ground or in your own ink, so it’s useful for moving around in fights where you need to prolong your life as much as possible, or critting people who are surrounded in their team’s ink. - try to get as close up to an object as possible if your goal is to shred it quickly, as both the crit and the projectile from a vertical slash will hit at the same time for massive object damage. - you can use the main weapon very easily while squid rolling, allowing you (in ideal conditions) to parry slower weapons and crit them right back, or confuse someone with your movement while chipping away at them from odd angles. - the weapon already wants to go in and pick as many fights as possible, so it’s pretty convenient for it that its movement also makes it incredibly easy for it to move back and grab tacticooler. dying with the buff has basically no consequence and may give you a surprise stamp push, since you keep all of your special charge and it’s useful to run stealth jump on wiper.
Great vid. Old news now but I found two subs of ink saver sub to be the sweet spot for torpedos as fast as the game allows. And the benefits of LDE and Comeback are not really worthwhile past the iss boost above. That’s just my playstyle. Excellent video!
Heyy newbie to splatoon here! Id like some tips on what weapon(s) might fit me best. And how to train my weak points. I enjoy the wiper and octobrush! Weak points: - I dont have much patience to scope out kills and when not to jump in. Quickly becoming "Popular target" - I cant dodge well. Might be a learning thing with controls tho. - Cant aim too well. Especially when I get outnumbered and adrenaline spam haha. - I dont use my main special (octobrush spiderman) Strong points: - Im ballsy and will attack ANYONE. Both a strong AND weak point hehe. - I tend to turf the homebase a lot and often get the turf awards. - Frequently I still get quite a bit of splats especially with octobrush. - My reaction time is pretty good, you cant rlly sneak up on me that easy! Im level 10 btw, so i got acess to a lot of weapons!
Utra stamp is the worst. How can they able to block ultra stamp with rolling pin. The player was rolling his weapon. When I use utra stamp. Rolling pins is blocking my attack and I die. Next I got shot and sniper while using my utra stamp. Not only that sometimes utra stamp goes through the players.
Amazing video! This helped a lot thank you! But I would love to know what sensitivity settings you use when tv/controller mode?? I feel like that helps a lot too!
I love your guide! Thank you for this video! But I have a weird question. Whats your horizontal and R joystick sensitivities at?? Ive found that those are super important to handling weapons!
See my friend and I both use wiper. We mostly use aggressive gear and like to just charge the enemy together. There’s nothing like watching the enemies scramble from 2 god dang ultra stamps
One sub of ink resistance can be useful. Without it, you take full damage when touching enemy ink and that's enough to show your location on the map. It also slows you down. With 1 sub, your movement isn't slowed as much (which helps you evade or retreat) and you can take more damage before being revealed on the map. I wouldn't use more than that though. Sub saver isn't really needed as long as you use either Last Ditch Effort or Comeback. If you make sure to stop and refill once in a while, you won't need anything more than those.
bc my sim sucks, i normally get into peoples faces and jump while charge slashing. it helps to kinda go above them and it’s easier to aim (: it’s a hit or miss tho i also really like to use stamp to create a nice path in rainmaker. very handy
I’d like to say that playing salmon run when wiper is in the rotation can help you get better at the weapon. Because you are going up against AI so you can practice your aim and skill with the weapon.
Question. In the gear section you said that QR is the only ability needed for the Wiper, other than Stealth Jump. However, there are 2 abilities I feel could be useful. Do you think QSJ and Sub Saver have any use? Using a few subs of QSJ has synergy with Stealth Jump, and using 1-2 subs of Sub Saver could be used to throw torpedoes slightly more often. What do you personally think?
I run one sub of QSJ as you can see when I show the builds. But no more that that is necessary on Wiper. Sub saver could be good but that's already covered with Comeback/Last Ditch Effort.
The second advance technique should be called windshield cleaner bc windshield wipers go back and forth to get rid of the rain. And its based off the windshield wiper so yeah
I charge slash jumpers because it has a higher hit box. Vertical slash people trying to run speed strafe me. Otherwise you gotta switch it up or people will adapt to you very easily.
I have played & pushed blasters (mostly range) all the way to S rank before realizing that they fall off HARD as players take advantage of movement options and use more 'meta' weapons. I've reset to B and I need a new main... maybe I'll pick up wiper?
Chase, I have been struggling with the in-game camera recently, and was wondering if you by chance had some tips for me. I have seen people over the internet using their motion controls + stick at the same time to turn more. I have been trying to add this to my gameplay, but its just not working out for me. I don't know if I am doing something wrong, or...? I have my motion controls and stick controls on max-settings. (I am use to this, I am an S+ player, but I want to get into more competitive play). I have been playing Splatoon ever since the first game, but I could not find any help or tutorial online about the topic. Sorry to bother!
Personally I do not use the stick very much, mainly motion! I only occasionally use the stick to reposition if my controller is already turned far in one direction.
@@PhrogsHabitatlike, if my hands are already twisted from the motion controls, then I use the stick to make the camera centered again. Sorry, it's hard to explain
@@Chase247 Np, I think I understand. You can use your stick to hold the camera still while you move the controller back to a more comfortable position without changing where you are looking. If that's not right, don't worry. I will figure it out. I just wanna thank you for helping me haha. I fr could not find ANYTHING about it lmao.
I have already been using QR but only about 1 mains worth through subs. I feel like by using more QR im just copying off of someone elses work and not making my own. Ive been using comepack and stealth. But Qr is really making me feel like im not putting any work in gear creation.😭
there's no shame in copying another person's build, me and so many others take inspiration from other builds. As forQR, you definitely want more than one mains worth. One main barely makes a noticeable difference, so either run more or run none
Honestly, ninja squid isn't great for splatanas. Sure, it helps you get closer but the ability takes up too much gear space that could be used for QR or utility subs. Wiper miiiight do better with ninja squid but Stamper absolutely cannot use it post-nerf (since it needs more utility/ink savers than Wiper which doesn't really need any). I still would not recommend it on either. If you need to get close, swimming up to them slowly is always a good option.
i mean that depends on the rest of your build and what you're trying to go for. you could always just make a new comeback hat so you dont have to lose that one
@@Chase247 yknow what, I clicked the link for it in the description but didn’t listen to the whole song so I came and asked over here. That’s on me lol but thank u for responding 🙏🏿
QR gives you a safety net so that you can take riskier positions and draw aggro for your team. You don't have to use QR, but it's generally a good idea so that you aren't out of the fight for too long (because deaths *will* happen)
My 7 year old is playing this game. Seeing as I haven't a clue when he asked me how to get these weapons or what they are I'm gonna ask you or anyone on here. Can someone please tell me how my son gets these different weapons. Are they in different locations to collect throughout the game. I'm more an Assassin's Creed type of guy 😂

I’d like to say that playing salmon run when wiper is in the rotation can help you get better at the weapon. Because you are going up against AI so you can practice your aim and skill with the weapon.
Amazing how it was originally considered a terrible weapon from pre-launch to being a high tier weapon now.
Yup just one powerful buff can do that
Is automatic special good for splątana since the weapon is good for distractions?
@@Chase247 Thank you!
I've reset to B and I need a new main... maybe I'll pick up wiper?
wiper should def be easier to use than blaster!
Thank you you help a lot
Automatic, special refill will be good right sense. The weapons class purpose is to be a distraction.
"every splatana" bro there's a whole two of them❤
The reason why I said that is because they will add more in the future. That way when they do, this video will still make sense lol
How do you get such fine movement and flicks like that
Chase, I have been struggling with the in-game camera recently, and was wondering if you by chance had some tips for me.
@@Chase247 Ohh, okay! I think I see. But wdym by "reposition" with the stick? Sorry, I'm not very smart heh...
Can you do deco wiper next?
I have already been using QR but only about 1 mains worth through subs. I feel like by using more QR im just copying off of someone elses work and not making my own. Ive been using comepack and stealth. But Qr is really making me feel like im not putting any work in gear creation.😭
there's no shame in copying another person's build, me and so many others take inspiration from other builds.
As forQR, you definitely want more than one mains worth. One main barely makes a noticeable difference, so either run more or run none
Could you also use ninja squid to help with the stealth?
You could, but it really doesn't need it
Honestly, ninja squid isn't great for splatanas.
@@Ashsams thanks im a charger main who wants to become a slayer/frontline so this is really hepful
16:57 🤔
I have a maxed out Comeback Hat but it has all subs of Ink Saver Main. What should I do?
i mean that depends on the rest of your build and what you're trying to go for. you could always just make a new comeback hat so you dont have to lose that one
@@Chase247 lol just made a new one, doesn’t cost more than I thought
I hope stamp gets some buffs
What’s the name of the song u used at the very beginning? Pls 🥲

@@Chase247 yknow what, I clicked the link for it in the description but didn’t listen to the whole song so I came and asked over here. That’s on me lol but thank u for responding 🙏🏿
Since this is my main weapon i just randomly click the vid-
Nintendo buffs the wiper.

Screw quick respawn, that only works if you aren't doing your job and murdering. I run comeback + swim speed
whatever floats your boat my dude
QR gives you a safety net so that you can take riskier positions and draw aggro for your team. You don't have to use QR, but it's generally a good idea so that you aren't out of the fight for too long (because deaths *will* happen)
My 7 year old is playing this game. Seeing as I haven't a clue when he asked me how to get these weapons or what they are I'm gonna ask you or anyone on here. Can someone please tell me how my son gets these different weapons. Are they in different locations to collect throughout the game. I'm more an Assassin's Creed type of guy 😂
