- What is the worst weapon in Splatoon 3? While there may not be one weapon that is the "worst" there's plenty of weapons that are strongly disliked, and today I'm gonna try and win an anarchy series with those weapons to see if they can redeem themselves...

As a semi-splatana main, I definitely recommend keeping your distance. Not a lot of people can keep up with the Splatana button mashing, and if you maintain a bit of distance with just enough range to hit them, they’re gonna have a really hard time trying to hit you, especially if they’re moving. It’s a fairly simple weapon, just think of it like an ink brush and spam ZR lol

I love to be evil with the airstrike splatana. I agree though it's more of a mid range weapon which is really weird to get used too cause you know IT'S A SWORD.
It’s due to the fact that the explosher has good damage, turf covering and good range.
Actually its damage isn't great, it's one of its weakest qualities especially against objects and inkjets

You can make the projectile fly through them and then hit the ground next to them and explode, combining the two hitboxes to deal 90. Of course, it takes 50 years for the projectile to shoot, but that’s why A. You trap your opponent and B. The explosher rewards team strategy
I don't if anyone in the comments has already shared this information, but the 5H in the name of the snipewriter weapon stands for the softness or hardness of the pencil. Pencils come in a softness to hardness scale of 8H to 8B, 8H being the hardest and 8B being the softest.
It probably also signifies that the weapon gets 5 shots with 5H meaning 5 hits. IDK which the devs thought of first though.
Its aghckshually 8h is the softest and 8b is the hardest🤓🤓

As an explo main. yeah, splatzones is the best mode for it. although I think it's better to play it more as a backline than you did.

Tenta brella main here! The tenta brella is kind of a unique weapon compared to the rest of the Splatoon arsenal. It's main job is to stall rather than anything else. Use it's massive HP to draw out fights and keep the objective contested. This makes it super useful on defensive gamemodes like Splat Zones and Clam Blitz as it is literally a barrier for the other team to overcome.
While the tenta brella CAN get an OHKO, you really shouldn't be going after them like a slayer. Instead, try to act as a decoy for your team so they can kill the aggressor instead. If the enemy decides to ignore you and go for your team though, that's when you pull out the OHKO shotty and splat them right in their backs.
The tenta brella can also be used to initiate a push. The brella provides massive cover when launched and can allow your team to gain quite a bit of distance into the enemy base. This trait comes into play most often in Rainmaker, as it can be used to not only make a path for the rainmaker but also defend that path at the same time.
Overall, the tenta brella isn't designed to get kills or ink turf. When you equip it, you become the team's shield. Contest objectives, draw enemy fire, and pray to god your team knows how to follow through with it. This is actually why the brella often underperforms in lower ranks and casual games; it is heavily reliant on team play.

Literally me yesterday. Didnt like the tri stringer but i decided to give it a shot. 40 games later and I managed to splat all 4 enemies with perfect shots one right after another. I felt like i had ascended. Safe to say, the complexity of the tri stringer and the amazement of hitting a snipe made me fall in love with it.

Same for me and the luna blaster. I hated it because my only exposure to it was in salmon run, but after trying it in the splatfest I was getting kills left and right
Stringer and reef are my highest star weapons, I'm not particularly amazing on them but they're so fun to play

The main weapon really has a lot of potential that is sadly hold back by the kit
But give it another kit and a few buffs (my wish would be to give both Stringers full charge speed mid air) and it basically becomes a monster

I find explo's point sensor useful. If someone runs away and you tag em, you know just where to shoot when they get to cover
For the Exsplosher, as a ranked blob player, when you die. The other team always gets the zone. I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE A RANKS. They can’t keep a zone for 2 seconds

i hate getting snipewriter on salmon run. i have NEVER gotten the hang of it but the people who are really good at it i have massive respect for.
Full charges give 5 shots at 240 damage to Salmonids a pop, making it the only charger to do 1,200 damage if you score all 5 hits.
tap shots has a scale factor of 50-120 damage depending on its charge.
Powerful single target sniper, but suffers from Bamboozler's curse, meaning the charged shots gets stopped the moment it hits a Salmonid of some kind, even Snatchers.
You can fully charge up to 4 times before needing to refill on ink.
It's prone to getting swarmed with drizzler's ink storm and fly fish missiles, along with slam lid and fish stick support. Prioritize those four boss salmonids along with any incoming maws, scrapper or steelheads. Big Shots are better to eliminate from a distance along with Stingers.
It naturally struggles against Eel and flip flopper if there is a lesser school protecting their weak spots.
Reefslider and Wave Breaker synergize well with the keep away play style.
Reefslider during its rushing tracks can instant splat all lesser salmonids on contact and goes through the problematic bosses, splatting them in one shot on a good hit.
Wave Breaker can help putting the chums and fries to bed while you can focus on cohock control or boss salmond control. Don't let eels or slam lids roll on top of it as it eliminates your breaker early, along with Maws snapping below the breaker.
ZL swim form refunds your ink cost to store the charge.
Bombs are usually better for swarm control so you don't get overwhelmed.
+bonus its actually insane at dealing with horrorboros boss salmon. Aim for the part in the mouth and go crazy

As an explosher main, I can confirm that we are cursed with hiccups every time we play
As a tent main the tent section was commendable. For using tent in the first place. A way to use tent would be to utilize all the movement options to ur advantage like swim speed up and squid roll especially. Also, the way tent fires is very unique so u have to get used to the direct hit box. You want to think about the best places to launch the shield to help teammates and objective. For example an open space is risky, but a small space is not because the shield can cover u better. Combining good shield awareness and movement options can make ur tent skills better. This is just my opinion, tell me if u guys have anything more to add
I like to think of myself as a brella main but I have always struggled with the tenta. I will also be using your tips man. thank you.
Run speed helps a lot too
Artist here: The H in Sniperwriter 5H refers to the hardness of a pencil. A U.S. school standard #2 pencil, for reference, is usually about an HB grade pencil; the middle of the scale. The B scale is for softer pencils (easily leaves a darker mark). The H scale is for harder pencils (barely leaves a mark). So 5H is much harder than your standard HB pencil. They do go up to 9H. My favorite pencil to make art with is the 8B.
Bonus fact, yes there are #1 and #3 pencils; which are softer (#1) and harder (#3+) pencils.

I unironically love the Undercover Brella. Sure, its shield is garbage compared to others, but it breaking never bothered me. It saved me more than I can count from getting killed after super jumping.
undercover brella is so nice on splat zones, you can basically guard the zone constantly with covering the ground without fear of dying due to your shield, and you can spread ink mines on the zone as well as use reefslider to cover the whole zone

Yep same here as a splatana main I like that u can do a lot of strafe swimming with it as it’s pretty much the fastest weapon in the game to use strafing and once u master it it’s a lot of fun and I love getting trick shots with the ultra stamp it’s satisfying when I land them

I'm a Slosher main, and I don't like the Explosher either. I made an effort to learn how to use it because I wanted to like it, but the entire time, all I could think about was how I could achieve the same things faster and easier with a different Slosher. I respect anyone who mains that thing. I've seen some pretty killer Explosher mains.
How are you using it? It's more passive and supportive not really meant for slaying although you can do that very effectively with your rain active

you can use it in other gamemodes too but it is easily at its peak in splat zones

I like the point sensor for explosher because I can aim for them when I otherwise couldn’t see them. Explosher is good at hitting over edges from back lines (at least I think so)

Yup I'm slowly becoming an explosher main and I can confirm that it's currently most fun on zones it's way less fun on any other gamemode (I hope it gets another kit to make it more versatile)

Having faced a really good explosher main that taught me how to shark in turf war (because I literally couldn't get in otherwise), I agree with Jay's comments about it.

I have gotten the freshness of all of the weapons released so far up to one star. All except the sploosh-o-matic. I will never use the sploosh-o-matic.

Well... for snipewriter, remember that it has the range of a splatter scope with two variables: You are not locked into scope vision, but you are locked into ADS mode.
The first shot fires after you let go of the charge, and the four are free to be fired. But don't feel pressured to use your entire clip. And use your sprinkler to clean up areas that your shots are too valuable to use for. The Tacticooler is a useful team buff and if you have a good reach, you can throw it to assist your teammates for pushes.
So... with this in mind, I recommend LDE, Haunt, and either Spec Atk Up, or Obj Shred. You will definitely not shred a person in one shot, keep that in mind, so haunt gives you the patience to predict your next shots. LDE covers your late game, and Spec Atk Up buffs your special's frames, and Obj Shred gives some utility to your shots for Crab. Always aim to pressure out your crabs. Your team most likely will focus the crab as well. The faster they go down, the faster you can make a push.
How I came to maining this weapon... well... I play Overwatch. I main Ana. This weapon was made for me.

I really like Thermal Ink on my Snipewriter, personally. Even if I only hit the one shot, I can see where they're going and track my targets better, or, I can decide that that player isn't doing anything important enough to take my attention, and focus on the rest.

Explosher is indeed very nice for splatzones. It does consume a lot ink but that usually isn't the biggest problem for backline weapons.

The slitana wiper was my first legit main (later replaced by the Deco then the splitana stamper) and I liked the ability to sneak up on enemy’s or surprise them with a charge-slash to the face. I still recommend it to friends of mine. 😅

explosher main here! i usually use it in splatzones or tower control due to its coverage from the radius of its blast. Its playstyle is basically built for backlining in those modes to be honest (it's also just a godsend in salmon run)

Edit: I forgot to mention the reason why Jay is hiccuping. His diaphragm is often having a spasm. Don’t worry it’s normal. As long as it doesn’t last for at least two weeks. I recently had an epiphany when I realized that I could actually play nozzlenose well
I love using the explosher and all brellas in salmon run, but can't play any of those in turf wars. It's interesting seeing how much easier the weapons are to use depending on game modes

Basically the explosher is what you make it in literally anything else but in salmon run it is the holy grail of weapons, it can easily take care of most salmonids and their boss types, it can even yoink the missile pods off of fly fish because it has bomb properties.
Explosher is good if you have good teammates that can help defend the area that you're in

The snipewriter is a team player, providing budds and damage for the other players. I would like to see a kit with ink wall and vac for a really defensive support playstyle.
pro tip: hold your breath for as long as you can, always gets rid of the hiccups unless you hold it for like 5 seconds or less
