With most sloshers you can do a lob shot and a direct shot that are timed to hit an opponent at the same time killing them instantly. Great for if someone isn't aware of your presence and is either standing still or moving predictably.
As a Tri Nouveau main, this is a must-know tech for sloshers. I almost always do this when trying to splat someone, it gives them less time to notice I'm shooting at them. It's also really useful when camping a super jump, if you time it right you can even splat a Dapples player instantly when they land.
7:00 It's actually even simpler than that! You can just hold ZL and B while zipping towards a wall with a grate above it and you'll always go up through it perfectly! No need to time pressing both buttons at the same time!
don't forget you can enter squid form with ink vac! you are more likely to catch people off guard with the shot if you are hiding before shooting it off :)
another dualies tech that's simple and not immediately obvious is fastfalling! when you dodge roll in midair your falling speed is greatly increased which leaves you far less vulnerable and makes shortcuts like dropping off brinewater spawn to the left more viable
Here's another one: If you are having a rough day and are starting to get tilted, there is a nifty shortcut you can do to stop the tilt. You simply hold the Home button then press A. Simple as that.
2:31 You can also cancel it by releasing B and then quickly flicking down on the left stick, which has the added benefit of not detaching yourself from the wall.
Here's a fun weapon class specific tech that I adore: brushes can immediately squidroll out of a brush roll. The input is a little tight as you have to let go of ZR then do the squidroll input very quickly to get the roll to come out, if you're too slow on the B press you'll instead just get a wimpy little swim form jump. I personally find it a lot easier with the inkbrush for whatever reason, but it's possible on the octobrush as well.
It's really good that you include techs that are well known to regulars and that you've already talked about before cause there's always new players coming into the game and when you come and go from playing the game you can sometimes forget something you already knew, so the refresh is nice
It was really cool that you added the camera reset trick for the stick users. Thanks for considering that trick for many people who either won't use motion controls (me) OR they cannot use motion controls properly (some people with too shacky hands or with dissabilities).
Lovely to see that you're including the editors in your video. It shows that you are a great youtuber 😊😊 Also I wish this video came out sooner bc I had to figure out how to dodge dash by myself just by watching you play but I have gotten the hang of it now
Squid rolling is the best buff dynamo got in splat 3, I can actually move with the it now I also feel like the rail jump horizontal flick is a lot harder to pull off than in 2 I wonder if the timing is stricter than before
@@remicou8420 not too sure. I've been sub maining the dynamo consistently at a level above s+10. And i gotta say, it's damn weak. Almost anything beats it in a 1v1, unless its a shitty brella maybe, or the opponent is a slayer rushing mindlessly.
9:41 thanks for covering this!! Being the one who originally invented the tech, it’s so cool to see it mentioned by you and I hope more players will be able to implement it into their gameplay
For any brush players: if you are in your """rolling""" mode but need to turn 180 fast, sub strafing still works! But you can also do a squid roll to do a 180 (or any direction) by going into squid form and instantly flicking in the direction you want to go. This still works even just inside your rolling mode path!
If you squid roll into an enemy splash wall, you bounce the opposite direction of the roll. Situational, but could be a good way to throw off your enemy’s aim if there’s a wall nearby. Also good choice for the background music editor, FE Fates OST goes so hard.
For those trying to use Bamboozler: Your tap shots travel the same range as your charged shots, they just deal less damage. You can quickly splat someone by doing a charge + tap shot.
Due to the length of the roller, the Big Swig Roller can quickly combo its horizontal swing into its roll to 2HKO a target. Just hit an opponent point-blank, keep ZR held down, and turn left or right! This works well with the squid roll horizontal swing tech since it shortens the distance to the target. The vertical swing is a OHKO attack but has to be precisely aimed, so having an option that requires practically no aim and is _faster_ is nice!
A trick that I use with Kraken is, if I’m going to squid surge with a kraken, I surge in my Octo form and turn into my kraken mid surge, it helps make it a bit quicker (Especially with intensify action)
Another tip for splash wall users: jump off the tower and throw it there. If you have walls or other objects close to the tower, you don't need to jump off
I'm a Dualie Squelchers main and I can vouch that jump tech is absolutely worth learning! You will forget to use it quite often at first, but once it turns into a habit, it's a game-changer. People usually don't expect you to jump after a roll, and the time it takes for them to adjust their aim can often be enough to take em out. Could not recommend it enough :)
As an Ink brush main user, there are corners/gaps on the various maps you can brush across. Such as around the center balloon on Spillway, the small corner space where the first break point is for Rainmaker on Shipyard, and you can go right off the round tank thing onto the ground below it on Ruins.
Here is a tech for Squid Beakons: When super jumping to beakons you can actually put one down while breaking the old one at the same time to save time, you just have to practice the timing
Cool stuff. I remember the game teaches you a couple of these things in tutorials from Story and from Judd. I’m surprised you didn’t mention Jr.‘s mini bomb rush when talking about throwing subs before your special.
With Splatana wiper, you can do a dodge slash off of a wall by jumping off of it to clear the wall, hold charge slash at the same time and be able to dodge slash immediately once you land. Can catch some people unawares :3
Awesome video! Some things I would add: - You can fire all 3 shots of Trizooka even after the timer runs out by mashing ZR. - You can hold down on the dpad before bringing up your map to make it easier to jump back to base (this also makes you say Booyah! of course). - Use a substrafe to quickly squid roll from standing still. - Jump with Tristringer to slow down how fast the reticles collapse. - Remember that how high you jump is determined by how long you hold the button (important for avoiding wavebreakers) - Looking at the map to see damaged opponents. - You can charge fizzy bomb by moving the left stick, jumping, or by shaking the controller, so use whichever is best for the situation (don't jump if the opponents are throwing splat bombs at you).
You can also charge fizzy bomb by using the right stick too - even if you are using gyro, so your right stick's up/down is disabled, it still charges fizzy bomb. I find alternating up and down on both sticks to be the fastest way to charge a fizzy
So I've learned that chargers and splatanas have unique ways of splatting people. And here I just chocked it up to lag for the reason I'm dying to these two weapons all the time. Thanks for enlightening me Chara. Great video.
Did I ever mention that you’re probably the best Splatoon UA-camr I know. Like seriously I’ve learned so much from you…even though I’m low in the 1900’s and 2000’s in X ranks I feel good enough to where I can still learn and improve…thanks for everything Chara ❤
Another tech about dualies is that if you hold the left control in any direction while spamming B during a super jump, you can do a dodge roll the frame after you land, so dualies have a built in drop roller and you (probably) never knew about it.
While its benefit is mostly niche, its worth noting that drop roller synergizes with Inkjet and Zipcaster. So when landing after the special is depleted, you can drop roll and save yourself from someone camping your landing location and enjoy the added benefit of a few seconds of quicker movement speed.
Dunno if it's considered a tech but jumping with the scoped chargers is another thing people do a lot. If you're expecting an enemy to show up before you can see them, you can jump repeatedly while charging to delay the charge. This gives you the benefit of not being completely zoomed in when trying to hold an angle so you still have some vision to the sides. You also have part of your shot charged so when the enemy appears, you just have to stop jumping and the shot will be charged faster than if you had started charging just then.
For Rollers, why rolling, if you hit something that you can't OHKO with a squish, you will get pushed back a bit. However, if you quickly flick the control stick left or right upon the point of impact, you will get a slight speed boost in that direction. This can be used to escape, for a fake out, to surprise squish somebody etc. Try it on a brella shield, wave breaker, big bubbler etc!
On ultra stamp to do a quick 180 you can dip into ink at your feet, face the other direction, then come back out. I still do this even after the tighter turn buff. Also at 5:35 I'm curious if the tech used in Salmon Run on slow/stationary targets is applicable here, where you put your roller down then flick the camera up and down. It's much faster than rolling in a circle. Hazmy talked about it in an eggstra work guide.
For any aspiring dynamo players, try to keep your distance and aim a little more upward for more impact. Dynamo can really threaten a team with it's wide spread so use that to your advantage.
I'll have to remember that roller wall painting tech for when I have a roller in wave 1 Salmon... (Speaking of rollers and Salmon - Slow rolling is hugely useful tech that I wish more people knew about every other time I wind up in a rush wave and there's a roller in the comp. A bit more niche but you can trick the game into thinking you're moving by flicking your camera up and down, allowing you to more effectively take on stingers with rollers - I think there's a similar tech with rollers against drizzlers but I'm yet to actually pull that off in a shift)
I couldn't find anyone talking about this tech online but maybe it's already known about. Ballpoint is unique in that it moves much faster when charging than when firing (for the long-range mode at least). You can actually jump with that faster speed while firing by quickly tapping the charge button at the same time as you jump. It makes a huge difference in speed and has practically no downside, as the charge input can be as short as one or two frames if you tap it fast enough, and you can still hold jump for as long as you want (it just takes some practice). One main of intensify is enough to get perfect airborne accuracy, so I like to take it with run speed and drop roller for a fun aggressive mid-range playstyle.
yo this is really cool!! i especially appreciate 10:34 as a low sens sticks player :D im trying to learn the forward squid roll but im genuinely just having a really tough time pulling it off rip
When you're swimming and want to pop up and shoot someone you *don't need to let go of ZL* I don't know why it took me so long to learn this but it actually makes your movement so much faster when you can go back down right away.
Brushes can 180 squidroll from running When running in a direction there is enough paint for you to swim in for just a split second This short timeframe is already enough to do a squid roll letting you catch chasing opponents of guard or quickly disengage from a sudden bad situation If you turn to the right you can even squid roll „forward“ in a sense although that one is a little harder to pull of
5:30 ur hitbox is also active while rolling on walls. I've gotten a few kills on people rushing or hiding up on walls by doing that, its really funny lol
fun fact! in the first level of alterna there's a ledge you can climb that lets you get a certain kettle without using power eggs. found it in early game when i didnt have enough power eggs to get rid of ooze.
A fully cooked curling bomb explodes with the radius of a suction bomb, has a fuse timer comparable to splat bomb, and most notably, the fuse timer still ticks down while in midair. Pass them on enemy ledges or drop them off of Flounder Heights for some funny clips
Great video, I was surprised that I knew 23 of these but I learned the left side peak with the dualies and the killer wail one. You should definitely do this again with more techs and you should make sure you include main strafing with shooters since I believe it's two frames faster.
Small trick that's not super applicable with gameplay but can help with recording, if you hold up or down on your right stick, the automatic camera turn that happens when you move to the side won't happen. Not very effective to do during gameplay, but it helps a bit so you don't have to adjust the camera. It might just be because the stick is point a little to the side, but I never noticed any camera movement at all.
If you hold back before releasing the Splatana's charge you don't rush forward but that's prob known already, however it also applies similarly to light forward movement too, not sure if that counts tho. I can't count how many times I get the vflick with a roller's squid roll when I want to do a squid roll hflick since the timing is very strict
Another thing: Due to the decreased emerge time when holding a charge, the Goo Tuber is fairly unique in that it can 'main strafe' (sub strafing without holding the button) when holding the charge, which adds a lot to its movement and is fairly vital in charger vs. charger matchups when trying to approach.
I have an inkbrush tech that can be really useful If you are in rolling mode, moving at full speed in one direction, you can quickly drop into your trail and squid roll like normal This is great to change direction real quick, as the game still is thinking you have high momentum
I love using ultra stamp, but it's really vulnurable from behind. If you're chasing someone and miss, and they start shooting at you from behind, you can quickly submerge myself in ink and change direction.
I got one that no one talks about it's for the brella in close range. If shot them one time then hit them with your sheld it's basically a one hit ko. The funny thing is that it's been in the game since Splatoon 2
This one's kind of similar to sub strafing but it's technically weapon specific so I'll mention it. Brellas often want to swim directly out of their shield, especially when fighting someone. To do it quickly, you can keep a hold of ZR while you press ZL to enter swim form allowing you to immediately shift out of shield into swim. If you want to keep fighting, letting go of ZL will fire a shot as soon as possible. And, of course, you can always let go of ZR too if you don't want to shoot. It's hardly groundbreaking and possible with basically every other weapon, but I feel Brella's shield makes this a bit more noteworthy to them than other weapon types. Also, for the Sprinkler tip, you can place it directly on top of the Rainmaker as it respawns to trap it inside the shield to damage it from within. In Splatoon 2, a shield in the enemy's colour would destroy it but, as far as I know, this isn't the case in 3. The Sprinkler will keep fighting until it pops.
fun fact: when using ultra stamp, if you do a jump attack and swing your camera around (high sensitivity) you can immediately start a rush mode in any direction you like.
To squid roll forward, i make a circle with the sticks. Up, right, down, left, left+up, to squid roll forward (Slightly to the left) Up, left down, right, right+up, to squid roll forward (Slightly to the right).
Number 1: press ZL to enter swim form
Number 2: Press ZR to shoot.

Number 4: press B to jump.

Great video, I was surprised that I knew 23 of these but I learned the left side peak with the dualies and the killer wail one. You should definitely do this again with more techs and you should make sure you include main strafing with shooters since I believe it's two frames faster.
This is probably my favorite video you have made! Could you maybe consider making a video on positioning in Splatoon 3?
7:47 That cost me one round of Salmon Run once. Right into the water instead of saving my teammates.
Good choice with Xenoblade music. Oh and also good video. This will be a staple for years to come.
Tip for brella: don't
As a brella main, this hurts
brella is one of my favouririte weapons. And after all the bug fixes, it feels much better now than in the start of this game
With the splash wall, if you stand at a certain distance you can land splash walls above ledges. Might be useful for inkblot, and mahi mahi resort
I have an inkbrush tech that can be really useful
If you are in rolling mode, moving at full speed in one direction, you can quickly drop into your trail and squid roll like normal
This is great to change direction real quick, as the game still is thinking you have high momentum
I just tried it, and the roller trick with painting a wall while falling works for brushes too!!
You can do the rainmaker sub strafe with splatanas too , not sure how much better than sub strafing it is but useful to know
Friendly reminder you can still squid roll with hold charge shots for chargers, this can give you a bit of a movement edge albeit minor!
I love using ultra stamp, but it's really vulnurable from behind. If you're chasing someone and miss, and they start shooting at you from behind, you can quickly submerge myself in ink and change direction.
The music is amazing also great video how you manage to post this much is insane
For kraken you can squid roll out of the dash. It’s useful if the enemy doges so you can continue rushing them
Unrelated to the video but you should make a video where you check out viewers gear sets for diffirent weapons
The Sprinkler will keep fighting until it pops.
aw, the last video for a while…YALL ARE GONNA ACE THOSE FINALS THOUGH!!! I BELIEVE IN YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU!!!!
2:54 i have never seen that animation 💀
fun fact: when using ultra stamp, if you do a jump attack and swing your camera around (high sensitivity) you can immediately start a rush mode in any direction you like.
The tech for stick users was super cool! I’ve been using stick for a few years at this point and that didn’t even occur to me.
Okay ProChara, I know the 25+ Splatoon 3 Techs that I Should Know
To squid roll forward, i make a circle with the sticks.
Up, right, down, left, left+up, to squid roll forward (Slightly to the left)
Up, left down, right, right+up, to squid roll forward (Slightly to the right).
7:47 and 8:55 are so helpful ♡ changed my life fr
10:24 you can actually throw sprinkler inside of the bubble and it does insane damage!
One fun tech is that if you put a Big Bubbler under something then it will only go as high as the ceiling is
