    I've stuck with the dualies since day 1 of having my hands on splatoon 2, and I still main them to this day. That dodge roll is just so fun and useful to use imo!

      @@Eohnni I can't tell if your being sarcastic or not, so I'll just say this: I never said that the dodge roll was crucial to my playstyle. I still use rollers and splattershots sometimes. I just happen to really like the dodge roll the dualies have.
      And also ever since I first saw them in like 4th or 5th grade I thought dual wielding was dope as hell
      Edit: I'm pretty sure your being sarcastic now that I think about it. Idk. I can't tell without an actual voice but that's just me. 🤷‍♂️

    As a hardcore Dualie Squelcher main of more than two years, you NEED Ink Saver main because that thing guzzles like a MONSTER. They can be downright annoying to use if you don’t have it. But if you do, and you know how to use them, that can easily be one of if not the best weapon in the game and loads of fun!

      As a long time dualie squelchers main who doesn’t play competitive, I’m kind of mixed on hits changed kit. Wave breaker is good but having it as a special instead of a bomb is kind of weird, also it lost tents missles. Splat bomb also doesn’t really help too much, it’s painting is good but it’s poking potential doesn’t help too much considering how long it’s ranger is already.

    In the lore the Dualie Squelchers were repurposed from a weapon in Splatoon 1 called the Dual Squelcher, that is my reason as to why the function so different from other dualies, it wasn't built to be a dualie.

    I’m a new splatoon player and I’ve recently picked up the tetra dualies as my main weapon. Despite the learning curve they have (especially with motion controls)… I’m managing to make some work with them. It really throws off my enemies when I change my dodge rolling patterns while keeping my aim on them, so having four rolls available AND keep the damage going while evading is incredibly satisfying. Can’t wait for your in depth video on them for this game. Keep up the good work!

    Dualies never really clicked with me for the majority of Splatoon 2 until I randomly picked up the tetras in like the last 6ish months before Splatoon 3's release and now I love them. Haven't spent much time with them in Spllatoon 3 yet as I've been going hard on Tri-Stringer but once I get that out of my system I see dualies being one of my go too weapon classes for this game.

    You have really good explanations, and a great delivery of the material you write.
    I think you should make gameplay review videos, as in like post-gameplay commentary and review where you can explain your thought process & strategies. You have a really concise, clear style that I think would lend itself really well to that kind of content, which I think is a bit lacking for competitive-minded splatoon.
    I feel like when I play online, I see a lot of players who don't seem to know what their gameplan should be; they get into fights they probably shouldn't, they try to get positions they don't need, they panic when they're behind and try to force a push through regardless of their teammates being alive or dead.
    So straight up, I think you could just do a bit of commentary on your highlight games and they'd be really helpful. Whether or not you want to do it with a lot of editing and an actual script, or no editing and stream of consciousness, or something in-between, I think they'd be good vids.
    For real I'm just greedy for competitive gameplay discussion lmao. You do you & I'm gonna click like either way, good vids 👍

    • @Chase247
      @Chase247  2 роки тому +9

      Thanks for the input Tom, I will definitely do this soon. I'm hesitant to do videos like that because I'm not someone who "thinks" a lot when I play. I honestly just rush in and just try to take advantage of opportunities that I see in the moment. But, that is how a lot of higher level dualie players play, so I suppose it would still be worth trying to cover 🤣 thanks again

    • @jbxrm
      @jbxrm 2 роки тому +5

      @@Chase247 you're not giving yourself enough credit. Things you do naturally when reading situations because you've put in the hours require newer players more effort to think about. Prioritising threats, positioning and distance, predicting enemy location, having escape routes inked, utilising cover when refilling etc. Agree it would be cool to see you break down some replays by just pausing and explaining why you did certain things to help others learn different techniques. Even if it's just "I thought I'd get a quick kill here but quickly realised I was surrounded" etc. It's how I learnt competitive TF2 years ago by watching commentaries from higher level players on the choices being made and critiquing their own plays (no one plays perfectly). Keep up the great content 👍

    Dualies are prob one of the best weapon classes rn. Obviously, my favorite are the Dualie Squelchers. Idk why, is it the range? Wave Breaker? The fact we dont need MPU anymore? Whatever reason, they are my favorite.

    As a new Splatoon player, when I've been exploring and playing with a variety of weapons, the most wins I've gotten in competitive have almost exclusively been dualies. I love the class. I have also played Sloshing Machine, Hydra and E-Liter quite a lot, but haven't clicked with every weapon from their respective classes like I have with all the Dualies. Currently A rank in competitive with 51 wins on Tetra Dualies, 31 on Dualie Squelchers, and 11 on Splat Dualies (only less on Splat Dualies because they feel noticeably a bit more basic and I wanted to master the learning curve of the others pretty soon after trying out the Splat Dualies) Haven't quite gotten the hang of Dapples or Gloogas yet. I've always leaned towards aggressive assassin type plays in games and I absolutely love sharking 🦈

    Gloogas have such an odd place for me.
    I unlocked them in 2, played them, HATED them, got an mpu build that let it 2 shot with a turret and a spread shot, mained it, saw mpu was gone, decided to drop it for 3, played it anyway, and now it's over half of my matches in 3.

    Really enjoyed this guide! I've picked up the Dualie Squelchers in Splatoon 3 and really like them for having decent paint output while also being able to out-range all the Aerosprays and N-Zaps in Turf War. I didn't know about turret mode, as I didn't really use Dualies much in Splatoon 2, so this is good information! Looking forward to a more in-depth guide on the squelchers.

    Dualie Squelcher is my favourite

  • @SirLANsalot
    @SirLANsalot 2 роки тому +1

    I loved the Dual Squelchers in Splatoon 2, because of the dodgeroll AND the Tenta missiles it had, like best kill combo out there. There were a few other Squelcher Type Dualies in Splatoon 2, where as here in 3 there is just the 1 so far. However in 3, even tho it doesn't have tenta (currently) the weapon itself is very good (as stated). You did forget to mention that the Squelchers also have improved Range over all the other types, not as far as the single version, but still can fling that ink pretty far.

    • @Chase247
      @Chase247  2 роки тому

      What do you mean at the end there? Dualie Squelchers are tied for the most range with Glooga Dualies in turret mode.

    • @SirLANsalot
      @SirLANsalot 2 роки тому

      @@Chase247 Squelchers don't need to use dodge mode to do that, they just are that range. As you showed in your video, they are accurate regardless of mode but you did not mention their range over the others. Also Glooga requires you to dodge to get the range and they still suffer from poor(er) accuracy.
      In Splatoon 2, Sheldon explains the Squelcher to you about its longer range but low RoF to compensate. The rage of the base squelcher is pretty long, close to a charger. The Dualie version had the boosted range (not as far as the base) with slightly worse accuracy to compensate that you had two. They also weren't the best painters for coverage either, but that was a minor issue to deal with.
      Now Dualies were new in Splatoon 2 and were quite strong due to the dodge roll, I abused the fuck out of that too LOL. The Dualie Squelchers would get kills that other dualies wouldn't because of the extra range. That and one of the kits had Tenta missiles in it that I just loved.
      Currently I am liking the REF-LUX bow, it paints like mad, high RoF for a bow and its charge is very quick too. A great mid range bow that, if you land a charged shot, can one hit kill (all 3 need to hit) or be very close to that a quick tap afterwards will finish them off.

    • @Chase247
      @Chase247  2 роки тому

      @@SirLANsalot I mean, with glooga dualies you are dodge rolling 95% of the time to kill someone, you should only be using spread mode to paint as I said in the video. So I consider it to basically have the same range as squelchers lol
      Remember, this is just a basic guide, there were plenty more things I could have said for every dualie. But those will all come later with the individual guides.

    Maybe you could do a video about the gear system? I understand the basic concept, but what does the star system mean? What gear helps which weapons best? What does object shredder actually do? I'm not asking you to answer me specifically, but I think this would make a good video or videos.

    The duality of man that mains Dualies:
    Splatoon 2: Dual Squelchers main
    Splatoon 3: Dapple Dualies main
    Something that I think should have been covered in this video too was the sub and special combinations that they come with. The regular Dualies are the most balanced of the bunch with damage output and tankiness (Looking at you Crab Tank), oddly enough Dapples is the most supportive and team cooperative with Beacons and Tacticooler (although you can EASILY just plop the Tacticooler for yourself and just go HAM. Oh and by the way, Tacticooler's effects can get upgraded with the Super Up ability, so I recommend getting a main ability Super Up if you like the Dapples), the Dual Squelchers in my opinion got arguably worse with the weapon layout; you have the normal Splat Bombs, sure, but Wave Breaker...man oh man Wave Breaker. It may be a way to split a team up, but honestly Dual Squelchers aren't a pick off weapon unlike the rest of the Dualies, they require you to be in the way and use the dodge rolls as maneuverability while keeping that range. And as much as there is a mechanic that isn't really talked about in this video with this specific Dualies (where you can literally wait a few seconds while in turret mode and just dodge roll again and it will refresh the dodge roll counter), this is the Dualies in my opinion that uses ALOT of ink, so Ink Saver (Main) is a MUST on this weapon to be optimal. The Gloogas, I never could get used to, simply because of their clunky nature, but this feels like way more of a defensive set up for a pair of dualies than it should be. Splat Walls aren't really an aggressive sub weapon, and Booyah Bomb is so easy to predict where it's going most of the time, and half the time it doesn't even kill you. And finally, the Tetras. I know people that can go HAM with this weapon, but the low damage output on this thing is very unappealing to me, plus I find that there are much better mobility options than four dodge rolls, even if you can keep shooting while rolling, but this is also a weapon that caters to a specific playstyle, and I respect it. Autobombs are some of the most annoying sub weapons, and for very good reason. Combo that with Reefslider, and it caters to a specific way of being hyper aggressive, which again, I respect.
    If I had to rank the Dualies of Splatoon 3 as of this video, it would be this:
    1. Dapple Dualies
    2. Regular Dualies
    3. Tetra Dualies
    4. Dual Squelchers
    5. Glooga Dualies

      I would argue the Dapples as a standalone main weapon is just like the Aerospray, and since I mained the Aerospray in Splatoon 1, it just felt more natural, though I should definitely try to get into the Dual Squelchers again. The mechanics are hard to get back used to though.
