yall can get into the technicalities of it all you want and reach for reasons that make them different but when making that weapon nintendo definitely had 52 gal in their mind. gloogas are the the gals of the dualie class, dapples are the sploosh of the dualie class, dualies are the splash/splattershot of the dualie class, dualie squelchers are the dual squelcher of the dualie class, and dousers are the squeezer of the dualie class. Only dualie that's really it's own thing are tetras

@@MKJBlewis I think it's mostly what you do after throwing the wall movement wise. Like you get behind it as a 52, you can still move without being stuck in place. Where as a glooga, stuck in turret mode, can't move for some frames just to get that 2 shot the 52 already has. There probably some other stuff I'm missing, but that's what I think.

I think dodge roll damage would be a cool way to buff Dapples.

Sadly I don't think it is going to get a new kit this game. Let's just hope that they buff reefslider or dapples. Tacticooler and beakon would have been so cool on a weapon with at least some range and paint, it just doesn't work with dapples.
Maybe we'll get a good kit in Splatoon 4.

honestly, dapple dualies have really good kits, the vanilla kit is one of the best supportive kits and the nouveau kit is a very good aggressive weapon, if they devs wanted dapples to be better they should buff the main weapon itself instead of giving them a "good" kit because the main weapon itself would hold it back.

about the dualies being a sub class thing at 10:22 , the reason why blasters and brushes were subclasses initially, is because game dev wise they were just made built of the parameters of shooters and rollers, and splatoon 1 launched with this idea of 3 main classes that each take a different direction. Splatlings and buckets being added kinda broke the 3 core classes rule, and so from then on they decided to make more and more distinct types of classes such as brellas. even though dualies use shooter params, they wanted to market them as a brand new class with a new style, which worked, and eventually they realized subclasses didn't need to exist so made blasters and brushes unique in that sense

first of all rollers and brellas also don't have a backline weapon, dynamo and tent are front/midliners (depending on who you ask) but they're not backliners.
second, the identity of a backliner isn't tied to meeting a certain range threshold; bamboozler and stamper both outrange the heavy splatling, and rapid pro is outranged by the heavy splatling, yet no one considers those 2 weapons to be backliners despite everyone knowing that rapid pro and heavy are backliners.
This is a tangent related to the overall point but I believe that the devs design goal with the splatana class was to create a hyper-mobile long-ranged class, not a melee class. wiper is an exception, just like mini is to the splatling class. with splatanas you're supposed to make use of their long range and fall back on their close-range oneshots as an alternative when enemies get too close to you, not the other way around, you shouldn't be beginning fights as a splatana by trying to oneshot them point-blank.
I think dousers should be played in a similar way. a majority of the time you should be backlining (dousers has basically the same range as the heavy splatling) and you should only dodge roll to get a kill when someone encroaches on your space or when you see an opportunity to punish someone, you shouldn't be dodge rolling too often with dousers to engage and try and get kills, because if you miss once or roll into a badge position you'll be punished and killed in return.
Dousers has an easier time getting kills at its max range, unlike bamboozler (that requires pinpoint accuracy and cant get its second shot in if its target retreats) and stamper (that has a slower projectile speed making max range shots unreliable and a shorter range horizontal projectile that it needs to combo with) and it gets punished and trapped a lot easier than bamboozler and stamper do because it's less mobile. so even if bamboozler and stamper are similar weapons and they're both considered midliners, dousers is different enough to be a backliner.
So in my opinion we already have a backline dualies in the dousers. I think people like to play for its close range mode more often because its more satisfying and similar to existing dualies playstyles, but its vanilla kit compliments its twin-fire mode much more than its turret-fire and theres a reason for that. maybe this is a similar situation with the nautilus where people thought it was bad because they werent playing it in the right way, or maybe i'm just wrong lol, i dont know.
Any weapon is a back-line weapon if you are brave enough, or should it be considered cowardly enough.
Rapid Pro has always teetered on the line of backline and support to me
My hot take: the emperry points per special nerf fixed trizooka, fixed cooler, and enabled every other low tier weapon in the game. And it solved world hunger.
I figured it would be a cool thing to just add the Squid Roll attack from Side Order as a gear ability (obviously it would need nerfs).
But to have that would be very cool on many weapons and not just one Dualie weapon.
I agree with Dualies being better than Shooters, but in a different way: Dualies are actually fun to play and fun to fight against. Shooters are boring as hell.
Also, another small take: It'd be cool to see a new short range charger that got acess to a singular dodge roll. It's not exactly a dualie hot take, but I wish we got weapons that combined aspects from two different classes.

Thats all in all just another opinion, i personally don't think shooters are boring. Granted i am heavily biased but i love vshot bc it is that versatile and i can super easily switch playstyles in during the game to see what my team needs.
I think it all depends on how you approach the weapon and what you are actually trying to achieve, because otherwise chargers are the most boring weapons ever as they just stand back and shoot, either get a kill or don't and the only time they move is when they are specialed or bombed

I think Squelchers should have no spread, but exclusively in their turret mode. It’d give them more fighting power without making them too strong and would give more identity to the turret fire itself instead of the rolls.
Also, Dapples are already a really good main weapon, they just need a kit that doesn’t feel absolutely terrible to use.

Not a hot take, just a concept. If they add a new dualie next game, it should take inspiration from the Wii Zapper. When in spread mode, you’ll hold the nunchuck and the Wii remote like you would if you were playing Mario Galaxy. The left dualie (nunchuck) has slow, damage heavy painting shots, while the right dualie (wii remote) has quick, dualie squelcher like shots. When you roll, you’ll do a Mario Galaxy esc spin that does damage like the Grizzco Dualies do. The two dualies will stack on top of one another like the Wii Zapper does in turret mode, which makes the kill time fantastic but ink efficiency bad

I feel like if there is a worst looking order weapon, it'd be the splatana. A big part of that is the fact that it looks like chainsaw but has no animations for it, and that bothers me for some reason

I have a couple takes. One mild and the other a tad controversial
1. All Dualies should get 100% Ink Res when dodge rolling. It would be their version of the shooter buff from Splatoon 2. But unique to only that weapon class. Dualies are very aggressive weapons that often get caught around enemy ink. What better way to mitigate the damage from that, than to use the unique mechanic they were given? Just imagine max Ink Res on Tetra dodge rolls.
2. Dapples are a very mechanically complex weapon to play. Probably second most of all Dualie. With the map and kit design of Splatoon 3 being very anti-synergetic for Dapples, you have to try WAY harder to survive in mid to high levels of solo play. Especially if you don’t run Ninja Squid. You’ve gotta get really good with Squid Rolls. Run atleast a main or a good few subs of Sub Power Up if you use the vanilla kit. Your aim needs to be almost perfect. Because once the enemy catches wind of you and backs up, it’s over. You get the point. Dapples take a lot of time and mechanical skill to get good with. Despite how simple the weapon is. I still love them though ☺️
Also, side note: HOW HAS NOBODY MENTIONED THAT THEY’VE GIVEN EVERY SUB TO DUALIE EXCEPT FIZZY!? Like how did Dualies get Sprinkler and Mine before Fizzy💀

ngl up until relatively recently i thought the turret mode will just last for a few seconds because i keep pushing the stick after i dodge rolled, it honestly killed the class for me until i realized that no just stay in place and you get an infinite turret mode, that should be explained in the game cause i had no idea

I want to state that this isn't meant as shade to anyone, but regarding the comment about dualies not needing to dodge roll, I think a lot of beginner players lean toward dualies early on since the dual reticle mode makes it easier to hit shots if you are still getting used to aiming (even if the dps is pretty low when playing this way). When I first started out I gravitated to dualie squelchers because of that and the range. It didn't take me too long to need to move away from that play style but it's something I noticed elsewhere too.
Glooga Dualies are my best dualies! I'm almost completing 5 stars for the vanilla kit.
After I 5 star CB I am going to start playing Cdousers
Regards to the "which dualie is the most difficult to master" question, I think that there isn't really a single correct answer to that, as most dualies have their own different challenges to learn.
All of them have their own playstyles obviously, but more specifically, Tetras have to learn the 4 rolls and how to aim/shoot during them, Dapples have their range and kit issues, Squelchers have all of their dodge roll and jump tech along with RNG, Gloogas have a super different turret mode and falloff is a big problem for them, and Dousers are so incredibly different along with the single roll and low dps outside of turret. Each of these varies in difficulty from person to person, someone more backline oriented may be able to understand Dousers and Gloogas, some shooter players will be more used to jumping with Squelchers, Sploosh players might find the Dapples easier to use etc. It just depends on the person and weapon background.
The only one I can't make a solid argument for is the vanilla dualies, which is understandable as they are the entry point and generalist for the class, but I could definitely see the turret pinpoint accuracy being a part, and again, it just depends on the person. Of course, this is for more casual use, for comp there is definitely a tier list, and worse weapons are just inherently harder to use in that environment. Interesting question though, got me thinking.
As a glooga main, that hot take on the thumbnail scares me.
In my opinion, SOME dualies are better main weapons *at fighting* than short range shooters. In the current meta, with all those mid-range weps and where fighting is sooo important, I think dualies thrive at doing their role. I'm not saying shooters are worse than dualies, I'm saying thay have diferent niches. Shoters are more rounded weps, but they struggle in some key match-ups that prevent them from being a full on slayer (more like a hybrid support-slayer). In the other hand, dualies sinergyze better with the agro nature of cooler meta, even if they have similar mobilities as shooters
gotta point out that i focus this comparaison mainly between shot and splat dualies. Obviously squezer or 52 are better fighters than most dualies (or any wep honestly)

I have one. It's more beneficial to play Dousers as a frontline slayer as opposed to using them as a midline/backline support.
If there is a part 2, here's my take. They should make a dualie brella hybrid weapon. Like you'll hold two guns that shoot like a brella, and the only way to open your shield is to dodge-roll.

If they give dousers a damage/fire rate buff in spread mode then the Cdousers will be top tier
Concept for reworking douser doulies into a back line, changes: increase range to jet range, slight reduce shot spread, give charge machnic like splatlings which increases its firing rate when fully charged in strafing mode to tetra turrent's fire rate, charge speed similar to heavy splatling, decrease rolling speed for a bit, gives a 40 hp shield wjich is like the squid roll shield that generates wheb dodge rolling while having first ring charge or above, range of turrent mode slight decreased. These changes aims to make the douser doualies less agrasive while still having a dodge roll by changing the dodge roll into a tool mainly for fighting against aproching sharks by making it a escape and attack with the shield and fire rate while preventing the shield from being used as a tool against low fire rate weapons and backlines, especially chargers.
For this ver. of douser doulies, it may make the first kit better let let still being choosen when the second has burst bomb and tri strike as ink mine can be an extra tool for devending and killer wail gives it the ability to charge while using, and not much backlines have wail exceot for tri stringer.
For abilities, as it needs charging, it is still prefered to use run speed up.
You're thinking of a whole new weapon class. No weapon in any class has such drastically distinguishing gimmicks from the rest of their class.

I'm the only person who's happy that inkjet isn't on any dualies and that's only because I'm not very good with inkjet due to not practicing because it's not on any dualies.
There's nothing like using a reefslider and being near the enemy, but they have 0 ink on them anyways.

Dousers literally just play like a shooter most of the time LOL and squelchers require much better aim and have a whole jump tech you need to master to get maximum value out of it

Second: Dousers require very good aim and spatial awareness to get literally anything done.(Not that other daulies don’t, but i feel like it’s more apparent on dousers) Having only one roll + Pretty bad ink consumption is very hard to capitalize off of. I think it has a very high skill floor and ceiling. Just so you know, i’m not trying to roast you for having an opinion, and i’m not trying to change your mind.😅 I just like discussing funny squid game topics :3. I respect your opinion!😁
Tbh i really like squelchers, and i think they are pretty easy to play 😅 I don’t even main them, but every time i play them i seem to get pretty ok results. (Just to clarify, im S+2 atm with a max of 2449 X power)

Light tetras sprinkler is perfectly fine if your skilled enough to work with it and put in the time
If dapples were to get a third kit toxic mist triple splashdown would be the most realistic and best kit it could get
Douser dualies are the biggest disappointment to dualies because of the one dodge roll and it’s damage and gimmick doesn’t compensate for anything
Dualie squelchers are more consistent with damage and the sliding and similar makes it better than dousers
Final take for tetras but their kits have been fine only thing that needs fixing is reefslider on dark tetras
dualies are like shooters but somehow even more annoying

Welp here's a hot take of mine. Douser are the worst dualies of the whole class, its dodge roll gimick isnt even really a gimick when all dualies technically kill faster also, it's one dodge roll is terrible and laggy, it's outclassed by dualie squelcher (im forgetting how it's spelled sorry) for long range dualie, especially with them having great mobility. and it's original kit is bad and its second one is okay
I actually think douser dualies are the coolest looking dualies even though my favorite is dapples

Personally, I think Glooga Dualies are the coolest looking dualies, particularly the Deco variant.
For me are all Order weapons ugly. I would sell them, if I could.
Also Gloogas are the only fun dualies to play with. Both kits are just pure fun.
