Good call. It is a very good treasure movie. If you also watch tv shows, I'd recommend The Librarian (3 movies starring Noah Wylie & later a series called The Librarians with Christian Kane and Rebeca Romain)

He seems like a genuinely good guy. Goes along with Gates's kidnapping scheme because he understands Gates's situation and even gets Riley his car back. Though...leaving the keys to that expensive of a car in an envelope ON THE CAR ITSELF is a seriously iffy decision. Riley is lucky it wasn't stolen.
@@Tantalus010 Having a genuinely good guy as president and you draw the line at the car not being stolen? lol. I'm glad you liked this one! While there is not a third movie (yet, hopefully that will change some time) there was a TV series that recently came out on Disney+ called National Treasure: Edge of History that acts as a sort of spin off of these two movies. It's a new cast (there are some cameos from familiar characters though) and it's not as good as the movies, but I still thought it was entertaining, and I haven't seen anyone react to it on UA-cam so I'd be interested to see you watch it!
Addie, Nicolas Cage did an action flick with Ed Harris called The Rock (1996) which also has a (sub) plot regarding a "book of secrets" type of ending which you should definitely react to.
I'm a big fan of both of the movies. Sincerely wish a well done third could happen at some point. Disney put up an okay series with new characters but nothing to write home about.
I did see a ongoing National Treasure 3, but in March 2024, the poject has stalled yet again.. Cage sayd "no, there will be no 3rd:" However, it wouldn't surprise me either that it gets canned because , like everything today cost of liven issues, they run outta money,. I mean even studios do bankrupt right in these times?
Hi there. Disney + did a 10 episode series called National Treasure “Edge of History “ with a new treasure hunting cast, but did feature Riley, the old FBI agent and the younger FBI guy. I thought it was pretty good and they mention little tidbits about page 47 within the series. If you ever considered doing a show, this would be a great one to try given only 10 eps. :). Thanks and keep up the good work!
These movies get a lot of hate but I go into movies for the escape & when looked at like that they aren't too bad. Agree with a reaction to 'The Da Vinci Code' which again getas a lot of hate but if you go in just to enjoy a movie it is a great movie.
Ed Harris has played some awesome characters, the Abyss and my favorite is The Right Stuff and he plays Astronaut John Glenn and does a fantastic job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🤔🤠🇺🇸
Last rumor was that the 3rd film was going to be filmed but the pandemic happened and then the actor strike delayed it again but now it's up in the air to when it will be filmed with the current chaos going with Disney.
@@Stevarooni At the end of this movie, the page that was in the book of secrets was supposed to be about the roswell crash landing or something associated with it. IMO, it's probably why the aliens are looking around Roswell, they're looking for something around there. So typically a lot of gold or some unique collection of materials with the movie characters finding it.
Unfortunately no movie 3 was made. I’d like to have there been a book series though National Treasure 1-3. Probably more interesting. Personally I would not have given any credit to Mitch. He did nothing but have Ben do all the work.
Highly underated series. Great reaction. Are you going to react to the Disney+ series that follows this? I'd be curious as to your thoughts on this series.
Im hoping for a number 3, but it seems to take too long time. And yes the rumour says the 3rd movie will be about page 47, but we will see i guess. Great reaction Addie

@henkebenke573 I felt maybe it was overhyped? It works as an evening movie you'd watch on the boring days it's not exciting, but it could work for those interested in puzzles. Definitely not worth the theater but works with streaming service. Disney or Netflix could produce it.
Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Addie. National Treasure are two great movies a third movie was never produced related to the book of secrets pg 47.
Another excellent reaction, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007). My favorite scene in this movie will always be the car chase in London. Another Jerry Bruckheimer movie with Nicolas Cage & Ed Harris that you should watch is The Rock (1996), directed by Michael Bay. #TheRock1996ForAddieCounts
Speaking of Ed Harris, I also suggest The Right Stuff (1983) the 1993 Special Edition of The Abyss (1989), The Firm (1993), The Truman Show (1998) & A Beautiful Mind (2001). #MoreEdHarrisForAddieCounts
This film while not as good as first one, is really entertaining. I have been hoping third part but alas, I think it would be a dream it seems. I think Addie would love The American President (1995). Michael Douglas makes such good president in that film. Aaron Sorkin, gotta love him...
Addie, since this movie came out, Disney had Jerry Bruckheimer making some movies called Pirates of the Carribean with some actor named Johnny Depp, which kept him from making a third National Treasure movie, there might be a chance that they are done making pirate movies, so now i think he can make that third one, i thought that page 47 might have to do with what happened in 1947 , they found something in jerusaluem and created the country of israel by invading Palestine, a UFO crashed in Roswell , New Mexico and aliens and their spaceships were taken to area 51, and Albert Einstein took the notebook of famed inventor, Nikola Tesla and did something called the Philadelphia Experiment, where he wrapped copper wire around a naval vessel, all pennies from that year had to be made of iron. because there was no copper left after his experiment . he thought by running a current of electricity through the copper that it would create a field rendering the naval ship invisible to radar. instead, it teleported the ship through space and time, making it land in a desert, then in a harbor near virginia, when they started in philadelphia., so there was a lot going on in 1947. they made a movie about the Philadelphia Experiment, it came out in 1984
Great reaction and glad you enjoyed it. I really enjoyed this one. The first one was good but I actually liked the characters and action in this one better.
Like any decent sequel, one must both 'up the stakes' while keeping true to it's roots. The only thing which fails to convince is the motivation behind everyone involved to get this thing rolling. Once in motion we tend to forget the 'stuff' needed to do so. They made it too easy to become a bad guy which has 'some power' to force things along. A scavenger hunt on film is much more entertaining than one in real life. "Have you seen my keys?"
Might be in the secret compartment in your couch, every couch has one. Unfortunately, the combination to get to it is usually harder than the ones for the resolute desks.
Watching this franchise back again, I think Ben and Abigail are in love with adventurous treasure hunting that they are tricking themselves that they love each other.
There's a Disney+ series called National Treasure: Edge of History that's a spin off to the movies you should check out. There's also a third movie in the works that will hopefully answer that question we were left with at the end of this one.
Like I told you in the first movie National Treasure is a great franchise that made two great movies in a roll which is really hard to do. You should see Nick Cage movies like Snake Eyes, 8 mm, Next, The Sorcerer Apprentice. You should also see Prince Of Persia for another great adventure movie.
Other than at times it tended to try too hard to live up to the first one, it is really great. Love to see Helen Mirren as Ben's mother. My question is, why didn't Wilkeson just ask the Gates and Riley to help instead of setting up Thomas Gates and slandering him as a traitor?
Loved these movies. They were planning a 3 part if I'm not mistaken. I think it might of had to do with what was found in the book at the end. Whether that's true or not. I've always wanted another part to these movies. With the state of cinema right now, with the horrible remakes, something like this would be nice and refreshing for a change.
