First time watching you. Love the silly comments. Glad you enjoyed it. To me, the whole series is good. Don't miss the Renner one. It's a parallel story and of similar quality.
I read the books years ago Addie... they are very different to the books. Names and characters are taken from the books but the events are almost all different to them... they cut the Vietnam war parts that would force them to set it in the past and they ditched the Jackal amongst many changes. Some of the things they kept: amnesia, being found by fishermen, going to the safety deposit box at the bank, him formerly being an assassin sort of (it's very different and explaining it would spoil the book events). But to end this essay, the films are essentially a different entity to the books so i wouldn't worry too much about it. Although, if you like spy novels, they're not bad.
The books are so good. The movies are fun action flicks that basically only share the book titles and the basic concept of Undercover secret agent gets amnesia…
I agree. The books and films share almost nothing save for names and the barebones premises of the "assassin who loses his memory." Every other aspect of the plot is new. Even the characters behind the names share no resemblance to their book counterparts.
@@PinkyPowers and I’m not complaining cause the movies are enjoyable but having read the books it’s not even that typical gripe that things are different lol. I thoroughly enjoyed the books, I really like Matt Damon and these movies…but why they share the same names is purely so someone could avoid a potential lawsuit somewhere for being too similar in premise because they’re wildly different otherwise.

Another great movie about an assassin with amnesia (Geena Davis this time) is "The Long Kiss Goodnight" (1996). Fun action with a lot of witty comedy. 👍

This movie is actually based on the Robert Ludlum 'Jason Bourne' series of novels from the 1970s and 1980s etc. Robert Ludlum was one of the greatest suspense thriller spy novelists, with many of his novels being made into Hollywood movies and TV shows. In fact, I found out recently that there was a Bourne Identity TV mini-series from 1988. Anyway, the original Robert Ludlum 'Jason Bourne' novels are far superior to the sanitized watered-down scaled-down versions that we see in the 2000s Bourne movies. There was so much more going on in the novels, especially with the Cold War serving as the backdrop.
I love these movies. I end up watching these movies once every three months. And I have seen every behind the senses info I could find. So, the sense where it looks like he just disappeared. It was a practical effect, Matt ducked behind the moving truck to make it look like Jason Bourne disappeared into thin air.
I love these movies. Please, PLEASE keep going through the WHOLE series, Addie. And, please keep guessing and tearing your theories down. That in itself is another Post. 2 in 1 Post. AWESOME. LOL. Great Post, Addie. 👍👍 Thumbs Up. (get it???) LOL

Feel free to read the Bourne novels even if you haven't seen the movies yet. Other than a few character names, the plots have no similarity whatsoever with the movies, so you won't be spoiling anything for yourself. Both the movies and the novels are great, but they're completely different. (At least the first three are. I haven't read any of the books or seen any of the movies beyond that.)
The Bourne series is a perfect example of books and movies being so different yet both work on its own so well. I also can't speak on quality beyond Ultimatum
Fun fact, the movies are very different from the original three books. Jason Bourne had amnesia, there's a character named Marie and one named Conklin. Secret Agent things happen. That's about it. Both are good though.
32:18 there are a bunch of Bourne books. However the creator, Robert Ludlum, wrote 3 Bourne novels before he died. After that other people wrote a bunch more.
Watch all five films in the franchise. In #4 ("BOURNE LEGACY") all of the gaps in the story will be answered, but you really need to experience them in the order they were released. Fabulous reaction, Addie!
All three of the first movies are great. They all have a very simple premise but all are super. I really like The Bourne Legacy with Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz. Without spoiling everything, it tells more about the program. I think the last one, Jason Bourne, is my least favorite but you may think differently. Please do them all!
True but its still a good ide to leave as few traces as possable when u try to disappear. They knew they hade used the car so they ofc gonna think that they have been were the car would be found. But if there is no physical proof left in the car of them then it calls into question if they left the car there or if someone else toke it and left it there. 1 is an absolute that they been there and the other is a guess at best. Create enough guesses and eventuelly the once tracking u will guess wrong and u disappear.
YES!!! I love this trilogy. One thing that I hope you can pick up on in it is that once someone that Jason is fighting with grabs a bladed weapon, it is over. Oh, and remember the Brazilian Passport's name Gilberto Di Piento. It ends up being a neat callback.
Excellent. One of my favorite movie series. They each keep getting better and better. I can watch them over and over AND watch reactors watch them over and over. (It's like inviting over a friend who hasn't seen them and watching together.)
It's a really interesting series. Shaky cam became meme stupidity because of Bourne 2, but it can't be overstated how much influence Bourne had on the action genre as a whole. Really kicked off a new line of direction for the genre.
What's so impressive for me is that the year before this movie came out, Matt Damon was in Ocean's 11 where he played a bumbling, awkward rookie that you wouldn't expect much from. And here he is kicking ass and being the guy you hope they don't send for you. My man had range!
If you're watching the Bourne series be sure to check out the Bourne Legacy with Jeremy Renner, it's a quality addition to the story with lots of good actors.
Very nice reaction Addie. No spoilers from me, but you won't be disappointed. The movies were based on a series of novels (I believe with the same names as the films. Written by Robert Ludlum. Enjoy!!!
Yay! You're watching the Bourne movies!! They're all great, even the fourth one, The Bourne Legacy, which doesn't have Jason Bourne/Matt Damon in it. Jeremy Renner plays a different character in the same "world" as Bourne, and he does a really good job. But the first three are spectacular, and tell a complete story. Can't wait for more! 😁
This is a little bit of a spoiler so stop reading if you don't want to know more. We find out later that part of Jason Bourne's training is to remove empathy from his personality. This is in the book too but for a slightly different reasons and the recovery of his memory is also different. When Jason sees the children on the boat this triggers an empathetic response. From there it's a small step that brain tampering, getting shot and falling into the ocean could cause amnesia.
Back in the late '80s, I was a bit of a book worm, and the bus to school was about an hour each way. One of the books I read, was The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum, who was a very prolific writer, and before the Bourne films, had had several of his other books also made into films. There would also be The Bourne Identity mini series in the late '80s, though I've never seen it. Highly recommend the book as well as the film.
I read the books as a child and then watched this movie when it came out so it's not new. You made this so much fun to re-watch. Or maybe it's just fun watching how you react to what you see. Well done girl. Thank you for a great time. 🥰👍
2:41 No, you saw right. It’s supposed to look like he disappears, but most reactors don’t even notice that he’s suddenly gone. The people and the vehicle cross center frame at the same time, giving Damon the opportunity to duck behind the vehicle. Because the ground is wet, you can see the reflection of his legs as he moves with the vehicle.
I was literally JUST watching reaction videos to this last night and this pops up. This is like the 80th time this has happened. I’m starting to think I either have clairvoyance or my phone is alive
Seeing you react to this first entry in the franchise is SO PERFECT! You are going to love this and it will amaze you! There is a lot of "real world" stuff in these films (see: "Black Ops").
You didn't blink at the beginning. I believe that what they were trying to portray how even when he doesn't have any memories, he still can subconsciously disappear or evade anyone, even an unknown enemy.
This is a great movie. The action and intrigue are so fun. If i remember, the fight scene in his Paris apartment was voted best fight scene for that year. I'm glad you watched this and shared it with us. I hope you continue the series. I think you'll really enjoy it.
i knew addie would love the bourne films. its a shame so many people see "john wick", "the equalizer", and "taken" before they see the bourne films that started the genre, and havent been surpassed in a "all 3 are great" way. while none of the actors have done more specialized training with weapons than keanu, the most trained of these actors in hand-to-hand, is matt damon. he trained in a martial art from the phillipines called kali, where the emphasis is on using your surroundings and whatever is available. obviously bourne's pen came over a decade before john wick's pencil.
Jason Bourne was John Wicks before there was John Wicks in fact he began the whole enhanced agent style of story, the headaches are due to chemicals he was given to enhance him.
Great reactor. Love the pop-ups. Enjoying your "catch-up" on all of the movies you have missed. Keep on r'actin . And as for the Bourne series , all of them are good. Do not go by the reviews. Of course, I realize my advice here is a review, but too many critics like hearing themselves talk. If the story is good, you will know it. All of the Bourne movies have a good story.

Each movie gets better and better 🔥💯🔥
I think you'll like this series.
It's a really interesting series. Shaky cam became meme stupidity because of Bourne 2, but it can't be overstated how much influence Bourne had on the action genre as a whole. Really kicked off a new line of direction for the genre.
If they put something in his head and gave him amnesia, then they wouldn't be confused about why he's forgotten everything.
What if they also have amnesia?
Hi Addie hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
"Can you speak as much as you can before you die, sir?" Manners are manners. 😄
Addie, i love your response, your hilarious
One of the best action franchises ever made, Matt Damon really owned this role.
What's so impressive for me is that the year before this movie came out, Matt Damon was in Ocean's 11 where he played a bumbling, awkward rookie that you wouldn't expect much from. And here he is kicking ass and being the guy you hope they don't send for you. My man had range!
Great reaction and introduction to an amazing series of movies for you to enjoy. And for us to enjoy watching you!
If you're watching the Bourne series be sure to check out the Bourne Legacy with Jeremy Renner, it's a quality addition to the story with lots of good actors.
Renner is f***ing outstanding in that movie. He's really under-rated, for an Oscar winner.
On the embassy fire escape, the snow falls off, then re-appears.
I like this movie a lot, but the next two movies are on a totally different level. One of my favorite trilogies ever.
I read the books as a child and then watched this movie when it came out so it's not new. You made this so much fun to re-watch. Or maybe it's just fun watching how you react to what you see. Well done girl. Thank you for a great time. 🥰👍
This is one of the best movies ever made. The other two in the trilogy are amazing as well.
I like that "Marie" still had the red bank bag...
Hi Addie I'm so glad you started this series it's my favourite
2:41 No, you saw right. It’s supposed to look like he disappears, but most reactors don’t even notice that he’s suddenly gone. The people and the vehicle cross center frame at the same time, giving Damon the opportunity to duck behind the vehicle. Because the ground is wet, you can see the reflection of his legs as he moves with the vehicle.
Out of all the Bourne movies, Supremacy is my favorite, so I’m excited for your next reaction!
Bourne lobbing that shotgun shot was epic! My freinds and I got so hyped when we saw that in theatres.
I was literally JUST watching reaction videos to this last night and this pops up. This is like the 80th time this has happened. I’m starting to think I either have clairvoyance or my phone is alive
Walton Goggins is also in Justified which is amazing.
Glad to see that you're going to watch the trilogy. But, the fourth one, LEGACY, is the best of the Bourne films.
Excellent reaction. I can’t wait for your reaction to the other Bourne movies.
Jason Bourne is just Batman.
Good one, Addie! The first three of these are really good. You should watch the others when you get a chance. Thanks for sharing this one. 🙂
Also while this is 'based' on a novel, about the only thing it has in common with the novels is the names of some of the characters.
I want to thank you!
It's my favorite trilogy!
Waiting for the next one!
This is a great movie. The action and intrigue are so fun. If i remember, the fight scene in his Paris apartment was voted best fight scene for that year.
I'm glad you watched this and shared it with us. I hope you continue the series. I think you'll really enjoy it.
best spy trilogy of all time
It's pretty funny how you constantly throw in new theories about Jason's headaches and other things 😂
i knew addie would love the bourne films. its a shame so many people see "john wick", "the equalizer", and "taken" before they see the bourne films that started the genre, and havent been surpassed in a "all 3 are great" way. while none of the actors have done more specialized training with weapons than keanu, the most trained of these actors in hand-to-hand, is matt damon. he trained in a martial art from the phillipines called kali, where the emphasis is on using your surroundings and whatever is available. obviously bourne's pen came over a decade before john wick's pencil.
2:39 if you look carefully under the truck, you can see Matt Damon scurrying away.
My favourite trilogy ever. I know there is 4 with Damon in but I always treat the first 3 as a standalone series.
14:02 "Yeah, you owe her a new car!! You'd better pay for some emotional damage too!!" 🤣One of the best lines ever, Addie!! Fun movie!! Great reaction!!
What's the going rate on fixing emotional damage? Sounds expensive
@@iggtastic Always more than you would think! It's the gift that keeps giving!
The whole original trilogy is great as are the Robert Ludlum novels on which the movies are based.
