I don’t remember anyone ever hating on his acting, people have always made fun of his movie choices due to his debt and saying yes to any movie. Even in his direct to dvd movies he never phoned it in, he’s always given it his all
I absolutely love these National Treasure films. Not only did they properly introduce me to Nicolas Cage, but they also made me a lover of history. And the music in this film, mainly anything to do with Cibola is just beautiful. And the end credits music is just breath-taking.
They mentioned it briefly in the Disney+ National Treasure series when Riley came for an episode that he's been working on that mystery for over a decade.
Even worse than Nic Cage not being a part of the Disney TV show was that Disney didn't even ASK Nic Cage to be a part of it. They fully intended to move on and recreate the series without him - and the fans hated it just like there's no Pirates of the Caribbean without Johnny Depp.
I like the series. Giving me Riley was enough. I was actually glad it wasn’t with Ben Gates character because it was supposed to be a new generation and story. It feels like a torch was past this way.
Even more egregious is that in April 2022, Cage heavily implied/stated that the third film had been delayed/pushed back because Disney favoured the tv show instead
I agree with the recommendation of The Librarian movies. They were made for tv but still excellent and fun. The first is *The Librarian: Quest For The Spear.* Also agree with recommending *RED* with Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren. Still wanna know what was on page 47.
One thing I've always appreciated about the main villains from these movies is that when it comesd down to it, they don't take anyone's life needlessly. I know that sounds strange, since they both threaten lives willy nilly. But in the first movie when they are going down the wooden staircase towards the end when everything collapses, Ian let's Patrick get on the elevator before him kinda almost not making it himself. Then with Mitch, he sacrifices himself in the end to let everyone live and allow the discovery to be made whether he knew for sure he'd get credit. Despite being a-holes, they have some kind of honor which I appreciate.
Born and raised in South Dakota and I've been to Sylvan Lake, where the lake scene was filmed, several times. Every time I've gone, I've seen someone find the exact rock, stick their hand under it, and do what Nick Cage does. Unfortunately, as far as I know, there's no secret door 😂
15:56 Cibola, one of the 7 cities of gold, Fry Francisco Vazquez de Coronado led an expedition in the hopes of finding them in the 16th century, starting in what is Mexico City and ending in the state of Kansas. Fun fact: in that expedition was the first muslim in the Americas, his name was Estevanico or Estevan "the Moor"
Ive always enjoyed both this & first one. So rewatchable & i find myself tuning in anytime i see either on tv. I really love how they put all this wonder in ur brain of could this be a real thing & even if its not, its very imaginative theories that the writers were able to entwine into actual factual artifacts & events. Glad yall enjoyed them as well. Thanks for ur fun reactions to make me smile & laugh today. Been kinda bad week so always such a pick me up when i get to spend some me time w the fellas!!❤💞❤️
Sadly there likely won't be a third installments. Cage had to say this: “No, there is no National Treasure 3,” the actor, who played Benjamin Franklin Gates in the films, bluntly stated in an interview with Screen Rant. He expanded, sounding a little frustrated by the rumors. “Here we go! See, you’re the one that brings these things up and they go out and they eclipse everything else,” Cage said. “No, there is no National Treasure 3. If you want to find treasure, don’t look at Disney, OK? It’s not there.”
Which begs the question, what happened? As of 2022 (iirc), Bruckheimer had said the script was finished and had been sent to Cage for approval. So it’s like ok, did Cage decide the script wasn’t good enough? Did he like it but feel given the TV series, Disney would want to have too much of a say in the third film? I’d have assumed that before the script was sent to Cage, Bruckheimer would have had to show the execs at Disney the script for them to agree to it, UNLESS, the deal was he only had to show it to them once Cage signed on Either way, it’s a shame. I’d have loved to see a nice ending to the trilogy
You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m so hyped you guys watched this what an absolute classic and amazing movie yes yes I know it’s not really that old of a movie but none the less it is a classic
Gunna go out on a limb here - I totally LOVE Dora and the Lost City of Gold. It’s like National Treasure meets Journey to the Center of the Earth and a little High School Musical at the end.
Another good movie with Bruce Greenwood as the president is "13 Days". If you all have not seen it, it is good watch. It is up Oak's alley, it is about the Cuban missile crisis.
Throwing out another recommendation for the The Librarian movies - they have a lot of humour and heart, despite the low budget. Some personal favourites of mine!
These movies were my childhood!! I love them so much and they really sparked my love for history. May I request you guys react to Spirit, Stallion of the Cimmaron? A fantastic animated movie I think you guys would really enjoy. The only dialogue in that movie is when the minor human characters interact with the main characters.
This one is even better than the first. I was so glad they brough back all the supporting cast. It's a cliche in sequels to either recast the love interest or drop the character entirely, but they didn't do it, and their dynamic is even better this time. Even John Voight came back, and with his ex ball and chain to add to the comedy. It's really puzzling that we didn't get a third one shortly after, because again, it only went up from the first.
Fun fact: the production company paid for Rapid City’s prom that year so that they could film at Mount Rushmore. Was always so jealous from hearing stories about it 😂
I found your streams a couple days ago & have enjoyed several. Thank you - I love these movies & am glad you like them, too. So cool to have an all-guy group enjoying what I like. (I graduated high school in 1965, so been a movie fan for quite a while - lol.
Man i remember watching both national treasures with my brother over and over again when we were kids haha i didn't know Nick Cage had so many memes and whatnot then but the movies were so awesome
I'll never understand why people like Ed Harrison's character never ASK! He could have simply asked Ben to help him instead of just assuming he wouldn't help him (why wouldn't he? He's got a pretty good track record and the whole Gates family is obsessed with treasure hunts and history etc.) and then drag the Gate family's name into the gutter. Granted, there wouldn't be a movie if he'd been a bit more clever, but still. He would have even been alive at the end if he hadn't had to redeem himself. Probably. 🙄
LOVE these films. Glad that Mason Quinn & Answer enjoyed them so much. As Nic Cage fans, It’d be interesting for you guys to watch “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.”
Loved this watchalong with you three! Loved yer enthusiasm. I'd love for ya to either continue with more Cage in 2007's NEXT, or more fantastical sleuthing with 2006's high budget cheesy brilliance that is The Da Vinci Code 😂😂 ...pretty pleease!
If anyone remembers the ending of the first, Gates told Riley in the event "they find treasure that redefines history for all mankind", Riley can make the call on finders fee. I wonder if this would meet that qualification.
I remember seeing this many years ago. But, about all I could remember was that there was a lot of water.😂 I love the National Treasure movies. I hope there will be another. I agree with others...The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons are very good recommendations.
Since you are a fan of Ed Harris and James Cameron, I recommend watching The Abyss. It's one of my favorite Ed Harris performances, and it's an under the ocean movie.
I like when movies are based on Truth, like the first one, but not when they simply try to capitalize on the first film and make up stuff...like this second one...
Youse guys should do a recap/plan once a week/month. Just talk about any of the stuff youse have watch after having awhile to ponder of it, also talking about what movies could be coming up what youse are exited for. Movies coming to cinemas future reviews ect.
I have to say that I get a little bit of kick out of Seeing in my feed that you guys have posted another movie a reaction! It's kind of nice having a Go-To place, and you guys are so fun and personable, that I just wanted to thank you For you guys being you!I Cheers from Canada💗💗💗
Got this one on dvd when it first came out and we used to watch and rewatch the behind the scenes and blooper features. Fun fact: Nick Cage pranked the cast with that scream when he puts his hand in the eagle, and all their reactions were genuine 😂
Oak you should go to London in the summer and go to the public tours they give of Buckingham Place. We had lunch out in the back garden it was such a cool experience.
Please watch: The Number 47, Knowing (staring Nic Cage), and the Da Vinci Code/ Angels and Demons. Oh also The Librarians movie series. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME PUZZLE MOVIES
While a significent event, Lee's surrender at Appomattox Courthouse did not end the Civil War. That belief comes from watching too many old westerns. Lee surrendered the Army of Northern Virginia, not the Confederacy. The Confederate government continued to exist for another month or so, and other armies in the field continued to campaign for even longer. Though individual armies surrendered, there was never a formal surrender of the government that ended the war. The war wasn't officially declared over until the following year.
I found a treasure map and interpreting the clues have led me to the Badd Medicine channel. The next clue says, "Push the like button, subscribe and set notifications to all to receive the treasure!"
Everyone is in the comments recommending The Da Vinci Code trilogy and I absolutely agree! If you liked the puzzles and the pacing of the National Treasure films, you'll adore The Da Vinci Code films! Technically there are three (The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, and Inferno), and they're all great! Plus, Tom Hanks in the lead role. How could you not? Always love the reactions, you guys have been a solid safe haven amidst the hectic things going on in my life right now, thanks so much for everything you do!
Love your reactions, I wonder if you’d consider reacting to the movies, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Stardust, these are two standalone fantasy action adventure movies I loved watching growing up. Prince of Persia is also a Disney movie, I know it was met with a lot of controversy when it came out due to the casting choices that were made (majority of the cast were white when the characters are obviously meant to be Persian or Middle Eastern), but I do think it is a really great movie, the story, the sets, the action and it does have an all star cast who are all great considering the backlash it received because of the casting choices, which is why I think they chose not to make another one which is completely fair. The movie is adapted from a video game and is also produced by Jerry Bruickheimer who produced Pirates of the Caribbean and National Treasure so thought you guys might enjoy it. Stardust is adapted from Neil Gaimans book also called Stardust and is a great fantasy story which also has an all star cast and a really unique story I think which includes a lot of old fairytale elements, folklore and witchcraft and so has always remained a favourite of mine. Hope you guys at least add them to your list to maybe watch further down the road on your channel, I’m hoping once you see the casts of both movies you’ll be more interested in watching them and maybe if you haven’t seen them already react to The Mummy movies too as those are great action adventure movies and like National Treasure deals with treasure hunting and history/ mythology which you guys like me seem to enjoy. Love your reactions and hope you might consider these suggestions!
If anyone wants a TV show that has a similar vibe to these movies, I HIGHLY suggest Warehouse 13. It only ran 4 seasons and ended on a cliff hanger but it's a good ride.
If you like heist movies, you should watch The Sting. Paul Newman and Robert Redford in 1973. It won 7 Oscars and I bet you won’t be able to figure it out!
💖the reaction to treasure hunting adventure, comedy, action and a touch of romance 🙏 Another great series of movies like Indiana Jones, and Laura Croft and National Treasure there is also the Movies and TV series “The Librarian: The Quest for the Spear” 2004…”The Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mine” 2006… “The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice” 2008… With Actors: Noah Wyle, Bob Newhart, Jane Curtin, Astana Katic many more… Then the Tv series “The Librarians” 2014 with 4 seasons. These also have the genre as Indiana and Croft etc. Enjoy 😊
I really enjoy these movies. Every time I watch Nic Cage lose it on screen, I think of an older movie of his, Trapped in Paradise with Jon Lovitz and Dana Carvey. That's also a fun movie!
This was very entertaining, but the first one still holds up. Hope there will be a 3rd someday. What was your reaction?

Are you guys going to do the Disney+ television show _National Treasure Edge of History?_
I’ve been waiting almost 20 years now for them to announce a third movie lmao. I’ve given up hope 😭
Disney has a series that connects to this. There is character from the movies involved.
It’s 10 episodes.
I really want them to watch The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons now
I second this. I’m not a big fan of the Da Vinci Code but Angels and Demons is pretty good. Especially if they liked the National Treasure movies.
Up ❤
Love that series! Plus more HANS ZIMMER!!!
I loved the da vinci code! @@marieleelee
Same!! 🤞 It's such a good movie. So much wonder and mystery.
So many people shat on Nick Cages acting but the national treasure series is SOLID
i still wish to see 3rd one even tho i know it would never happen
Nic Gage is a National Treasure
Nicolas Cage is one of the greatest actors working rn
Nic acting has a huge range and he had won Oscar for his performance
I don’t remember anyone ever hating on his acting, people have always made fun of his movie choices due to his debt and saying yes to any movie. Even in his direct to dvd movies he never phoned it in, he’s always given it his all
Ed Harris seriously is one of the most under appreciated actors alive, love seeing a The Rock reunion with him and Nick Cage!
I absolutely love these National Treasure films. Not only did they properly introduce me to Nicolas Cage, but they also made me a lover of history.
And the music in this film, mainly anything to do with Cibola is just beautiful. And the end credits music is just breath-taking.
-"Whoa, why did ya bring your sidearm to work?"
~"Oh, that's just my grappling gun. I never leave home without it."
Riley is like the Sokka of this world IMO.
Drastically underappreciated for being normal, even though he's really smart in less conventional ways
I have lived with this mystery haunting my waking dreams for over a decade now. Now it's your turn, boys. What the hell is on page 47?!?! 😱🙆♂️
I'm assuming the Fountain of Youth
They mentioned it briefly in the Disney+ National Treasure series when Riley came for an episode that he's been working on that mystery for over a decade.
18 minutes ... watergate
Considering an answer Cage gave in a recent interview, I don’t think we’ll ever find out sadly
When Nicolas Cage yells it’s always hilarious 😂😂
Even worse than Nic Cage not being a part of the Disney TV show was that Disney didn't even ASK Nic Cage to be a part of it. They fully intended to move on and recreate the series without him - and the fans hated it just like there's no Pirates of the Caribbean without Johnny Depp.

DaVinci Code series is FANTASTIC!! Plus Hans Zimmer!
I agree
You guys should watch RED next. It has Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, and Helen Mirren as well.
And Red 2!
Yes please watch Red 1&2
Nah, skip the sequel.
Hell yeah!!
I have to admit that I think it's adorable that Emily (Ben's mom - not me) was more overjoyed about unlocking the Olmec language than the gold!
Same with his dad when he told him that Charlotte was a ship.
ironic cause Nick cage really is a national treasure
There’s no irony here.
Might want to look up the definition of irony first.
I agree with the recommendation of The Librarian movies. They were made for tv but still excellent and fun. The first is *The Librarian: Quest For The Spear.*
Also agree with recommending *RED* with Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren.
Still wanna know what was on page 47.
The Librarian is the Noah Wyle film series if memory serves?
@@nickcollins5191 yes. He plays Finn.
Yes! I love these movies. The third was great too.
Yes! Love the Librarian series. They're like a little cheesier but very fun adventure films with some Indiana Jones inspiration.

I LOVE Riley! His asides and one-liners are GOLD! I particularly like the scene in the first movie when he holds out on them about daylight saving.
I will always know the President as Ashley Judd’s husband in “Double Jeopardy” with Tommy Lee Jones.
Nick Cage is great in most high budget movies. Need to watch Sorcerer's Apprentice if you haven't seen already. Great Disney movie.
15:56 Cibola, one of the 7 cities of gold, Fry Francisco Vazquez de Coronado led an expedition in the hopes of finding them in the 16th century, starting in what is Mexico City and ending in the state of Kansas. Wow, cool fact about Estavan. You learn something new every day ..
@@sueshoemaker2924 it is also mentioned in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, was probably one of the most extensive expeditions at the time
i believe that this was the inspiration for the animated 80s show The Mysterious Citys Of Gold.
Bruce Greenwood really was awesome in this. My favorite portrayal of a the president in a movie!
it's not the president in Independence Day???
No it's Captain (later Admiral) Pike!!
Bruce Greenwood also played JFK in Thirteen Days (great movie imo)

Hope you guys at least add them to your list to maybe watch further down the road on your channel, I’m hoping once you see the casts of both movies you’ll be more interested in watching them and maybe if you haven’t seen them already react to The Mummy movies too as those are great action adventure movies and like National Treasure deals with treasure hunting and history/ mythology which you guys like me seem to enjoy. Love your reactions and hope you might consider these suggestions!
Bruce Greenwood playing the president is so cool
If anyone wants a TV show that has a similar vibe to these movies, I HIGHLY suggest Warehouse 13. It only ran 4 seasons and ended on a cliff hanger but it's a good ride.
Bruce Greenwood also played JFK in "Thirteen Days", so he's played the president three times in films.
Ed Harris and Helen Mirren, two of my absolute favorites in the same movie!
I wonder if Riley got to decide that they’d keep 10%, this time?
Have you guys seen The Abyss with Ed Harris!!!??? So good!
Badd Medicine Back With The Heat 🔥🔥🔥 Im really enjoyed national treasure movie reaction hope you guys like this one too
Bruce Greenwood also played JFK in Thirteen Days. He seems to have a knack for playing authority figures (*cough* Captain Pike)
please watch the 3rd sequel ...its the series of 10 ep...NATIONAL TREASURE EDGE OF HISTORY....its truly amazing
Love this movie series, and your reactions 😁
Have you watch The Librarian movie series yet?
I for one would like to see what's on page 47. I've been to Mount Rushmore a number of times. And the lake behind it too.❤
I think this is a 5.
If you like heist movies, you should watch The Sting. Paul Newman and Robert Redford in 1973. It won 7 Oscars and I bet you won’t be able to figure it out!
Mason might be a cat... each time there is an actor that he knows he gets distracted for 10-20 seconds lol they are aluminum foil balls to him :)
💖the reaction to treasure hunting adventure, comedy, action and a touch of romance 🙏
Another great series of movies like Indiana Jones, and Laura Croft and National Treasure there is also the Movies and TV series “The Librarian: The Quest for the Spear” 2004…”The Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mine” 2006… “The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice” 2008… With Actors: Noah Wyle, Bob Newhart, Jane Curtin, Astana Katic many more… Then the Tv series “The Librarians” 2014 with 4 seasons. These also have the genre as Indiana and Croft etc. Enjoy 😊
Hey you guys need to watch Con Air 1997 🔥
This will be fun to watch! I always wanted #3. Of course the Oak has seen this. Hey OAK WE NEED YOU GUYS TO WATCH THE MOVIE “ MONUMENTS MEN”
Riley drives a Ferrari with cars around as good as Answer rides a horse with trees around. 😂
Took me this whole reation to finally place the president with the movies/shows I have seen. The River tv show is what i know him from 😂
There is the tv series I believe on Netflix of national treasure. It's a different cast but there is cameos of the original cast.
Iirc the only original cast that reappear is the Riley and Sudasky
Ed Harris is a quality actor in everything he does. I’d love to see a reaction to “Pollock,” with Marcia Gay Harden.
Fun movie, love it and the reaction! Really entertaining. ❤
Sadly, Cage has said that the third movie isn’t happening. Supposedly, it would’ve revealed what was on page 47
It was one of my favourite movie series when I was a kiddo
If Steve Jobs didn’t make a treasure map called the Johnny Appleseed trail he missed a great opportunity.
Please tell me Bad Medicine is going to be watching the Disney + National Treasure show. I would love to see that.
I really enjoy these movies. Every time I watch Nic Cage lose it on screen, I think of an older movie of his, Trapped in Paradise with Jon Lovitz and Dana Carvey. That's also a fun movie!
