    Dear Sir
    Yet another tour de force a true master piece . I my myself am about to embark on a project based on the liberation of Belsen concentration camp on its 75th aniversery. My Grandfather was attached to the 11th Armoured Division and part of the liberation force so I thought a diorama would be good momento for my family especially as Anne Frank was the camps most famous victims and many of my family were moved by Anne's writings. Your Rommel diorama has been truly inspirational and if I can come close to your standard I shall very pleased indeed. Thank you for sharing your skill and artistry.

    Oh my, i don´t know where to start! This is probably my favourite diorama of yours, great subject, excellent execution and layout of the scene. I also think you have captured the vibe of the Tunisian landscape very well, both the plants and the ancient ruin fit the bill perfectly. Crazy how you built your own tree and cacti. The soldiers in the scene match the look of Rommel´s "Begleitkommando" guard very well.

    Just start watching your start to finish videos. I used to do this when I was a kid, following Francois Verlinden. I'm getting back into it now after almost 30 years and just wanted to say thanks, your videos are a fantastic inspiration; the finished dioramas are of a standard very few could even hope to reach. Thanks again.

  • @ol7469
    @ol7469 4 роки тому +2

    Very interesting ! And the result is of another level altogether.
    I have two questions for you.
    1/ Why did you prime the columns before priming them ? To protect them but from what ?
    2/ Why did you leave the seat backs of the Horch dark gray ? I would have thought same colour as seat.

    • @CWModelling
      @CWModelling  4 роки тому

      as mentioned in the video I primed the foam columns and walls with an acrylic primer to protect them from the aerosol primer I wanted to use for the whole base.....the propellant in the aerosol will melt the foam as I didn't have enough acrylic primer to do the whole base.......with regards the seats, it didn't cross my mind as the seat backs in the kit looked like a different material so i just did what I did as I'm not too fussed about 'accuracy' 👍

    I could be wrong, but german Kubelwagens used different tires on the African campaigns, so the afrika korps version with different tires would be the best option for this diorama, apart from that, amazing work

    • @CWModelling
      @CWModelling  3 місяці тому

      The tyres on the finished model are the 'balloon' type sand tyres used in North Africa as I realised this after I'd filmed the building segment and swapped them out 👍

    Really well don " superb " you have a great for eye for detail, but you juxtaposition and balance is excellent. The eye naturally follows the balance and flow of the diorama. The cactus cluster really make the diorama, I also like your figures, in my opinion, musg people overdue the faces, at that scale, eyes should be nothing more than slits, esp N.Africa, well done, incredible work.
