- How to build a #Omaha beach D day diorama. 1/35 scale from basic materials. The #diorama features a dopple (double) MG bunker #pillbox, instalked on the sides of the draw exits of Omaha beach.
Bunker is made from XP PRO INSULATION BOARD 10 mm thick from:-

they are on Amazon.
Air dry clay is from www.hobbycraft.co.uk
The 50mm insulation is from B&Q in the UK.
I may make a series of D day dioramas in modular form ie can be "bolted together".

Is there a good kit or place to get the soldiers for my 17 year old to get started for a D Day diorama? He just mentioned that it is something he’d like to learn how to try. History buff.
Hi, depends what scale really. 1/72 do some kits ie airfix and italeri . 1/35 you make your own thing really.

Nice project & subject! Nice scratch building with the bunker, reminded me of one I did myself a few years ago. You done a fine job however on the concrete impressions - something I just couldn’t think how to do….🤔🤯 Well done 🙂👍
Cheers for the kind words, I’ll have a look at your past build. The concrete effect was quick to do, maybe next time I’ll try to get wood grain too (somehow). Had to make lots of barb wire for this one. Thanks again.

I picked up an education on grass. The centering in the glue pool. The lengths and application with tweezers. Big help. I'm new, so I am blown away by your creativity and wisdom. Very helpful. I forget to paint inside all the time. Peace ✌️
