I love that Fenininger called this work, which is in many ways quite surreal, "A Fantastic Journey into Reality". He writes so well about photography and his ideas about what a photograph is, what seeing is, and what photographic seeing is are well worth investigating. I also promised to link (again) the BBC documentary: • Andreas Feininger BBC ...
I've seen that so many times and every time I am inspired and amazed.
There's one more Feininger offering on my bookshelf at the moment and it will feature very soon.
If you liked this content and would like to support further episodes you can buy me a coffee, or even a book. Thanks :) (Especially if there's a book you you would like me to review)

Thank you so much
Photography is different than all other art forms because it combines science with art and bridges the gap
Now THIS is brilliant nature photography!
A true visionary!
Gold mine of a book ! TY for this Robin.
He was a proper genius wasn't he :)
@@RobinsBookClub Yes indeed... pure magic..
Very interesting book and idea for my next project about creation
share when its underway :)
I remind a docu movie where one of the fragments was about Feininger shooting these objects in a box of gravel in his studio, using large prints of skies for backgrounds
Maybe this? ua-cam.com/video/23UjjfnlDDc/v-deo.html I fell in love with his work after seeing it :)
@@RobinsBookClub exactly! The whole series was great. It is a great pleasure to see again this interview.
@@RobinsBookClub forgot to thank you ;)
It's a stunning book. I'd love to get a copy. Would you rate this book as one of his best for abstract photographers? I've been photographing in a style similar to this and only recently noticed Feininger has been doing it long before me... So... An inspiration. Thanks for the video.
Im sure i got it second hand on the mighty amazon so you may be in luck? I've got other books of his but this one is really focussed on abstract and nature, it's really as you say an inspiration!
We all should look a little more, at the little things.
