4 Excellent books, which approach broadly the same idea in different ways. What is photography, and what can you learn from others about the medium and how to apply that to your own work? I've got more of these sorts of books so I will do another video like this in the future. Apologies for the weird editing in parts....!
If you liked this content and would like to support further episodes you can buy me a coffee, or even a book. Thanks :) (Especially if there's a book you you would like me to review)

Good opinions, it is all about photographing! Thank you for making all that treasures available to us
Have been looking at adding some of these books to my collection so this video is super helpful.
That's good to know, I hope get a lot from whichever you end up reading :)
Thanks Robin! The Hurn book really helped me early on in my career. It provided a clear direction and made me ask hard questions of myself. Its one of my favorites.
I love it! (And him too!)
David Hurn’s book is important for all inspiring photographers. He is strict, harsh with his criticism, but honest. A lot of us should read that book, being a photographer, because it teaches so much.
Learn your subject matter, pick your subject matter for your place at hand.
Study your contact sheets and share them. Your failures help you and others.
Etc
And he's good at explaining things in a way that's easy to understand, not unnecessarily complicated.
@@RobinsBookClub yes definitely
Great vid as always! Would love to see you thumb through that Moriyama book in a future video, or maybe a PDF upload would be extremely useful.
