Spoilers are 22:37- 26:10
The scene where Lisa Lisa tells Joseph that they dont have time to cry and have to move on, but then puts a cigarette upside down into her mouth, because she herself was utterly shaken, was just so perfect
That scene was so effectively written.
For me, that was the moment that [spoiler event in question] really set in.
Ayy thats pretty good
It was so effective because I noticed before JoJo pointed it out and it really hit me
Yeah, it was so well written they didn't even have to point it out. I know anime storytelling seems to requite it but they're not used to writing this good IMO back then.
Only thing that really annoyed me was that Lisa Lisa revealing to Joseph that she was his mother was told through narration rather then us actually getting to see her tell him.
Ah yes, the old city slicker trick of tying a grenade to a bunch of other grenades.
Works every time
Back in the old days, it was my favorite party trick!
Used to do it with my buds back in the day. They said it "blew" get it? No just kidding they fucking died of the shrapnel.
A classic
It works because this is America
When Joseph pulled out the tommy gun and shot down Strates, I laughted so hard cause I was so accustomed to part 1 that I did not expect it
NIGERUNDAYO
That’s what hooked me on the series
Same with how ridiculous the grenade tied to a cluster of other grenade pins was. It's set the tone so fast and I had tears I was laughing so hard.
Lol yup. At that point you knew he was not fucking around. Wish he did more of that in chapter 3.
That was one of my favorite moments of part 2, and smokey is just like "is this dude mad?" while he shoots up a vampire outside of a cafe. Joseph is one of the best!

I agree with all of this, except the part at 18:10 about the Pillar Men being creatures of honor. Wait, the voice actor of Numbah One voices Joseph?! Mind blown!

Same. He did a much better job than I initially gave him credit for.
berserkchip i think they did their best but I do personally perfer the subbed for Joseph and Caesar but when it came to everyone else I perfer they dubbed verison
YOU HAD ONE JOB WOMAN ONE JOB
I disagree with the villains being weak, Wham and his dialogue after he beats Ceaser hits me every time, Cars on the other hand is a cold blooded god who shows no remorse for his actions and to me is quite unique. Stroheim is probably the most unique character, he is a cybrog nazi who fights for the good side and helps Joseph overcome his greatest obstacles. The themes of Pillar Men, Wham, Car's awakening, Stroheim, Ceasar's death are amazing as well, music that we are missing in part 3 and 4
He didn't say they were weak. He just said that they weren't as villainous as DIO.
OK.
I also like how the germans wanted a perfect being, but their vision was to have this one thing that didn't mix with others
but when cars beccomes the perfect being, he is a mix of everything
but thats exactly why i preferred them over dio, dio's main agenda seems just to be evil for the sake of it, whereas the pillar men had a clear motive of becoming perfect creatures, it was their ruthless methods that made them the villains, the scene with the puppy clearly shows cars isnt interested in being evil as long as it dosent serve his agenda its things like this that make the pillar men much more interesting villains than dio just as Joseph's roguish nature made him a much more interesting protagonist than the excessively virtuous jonathan

Thoughts:
1. I disagree that Battle Tendency marks the transition from Power Fantasy to tactical fights. The final battles between Jonathan and Dio (both on the boat and atop the cliff) had the same style of using supernatural powers in creative ways.
2. Joseph vs Kars really is a David vs Goliath fight... Kars even is defeated by getting hit with rocks. Neat.
Lol, the first fights in Phantom Blood was also quite tactical.
And then kars proceeds to turn into a rock
Yeah, Phantom Blood definitely had a lot of tactical fighting going with explored internal dynamics, main examples being the fight in the fire and the dio fights following, where there are a bunch of different tactics employed to try and negate Dio's ice abilities and enable flow of hamon etc.
Then there's Jotaro's existance.
Nice opinion, but too bad. I don't respect any opinions, as a result. Your opinion is wrong. And mines are right.
Caesar’s death hit me waaaay harder than I expected, tbh I think it’s still the hardest death so far in Jojo’s. (I’m anime only)
The op of part 2(bloody stream) makes it even sadder
@@hk-ex4gw Lmao I knew he was gonna die cos of the opening
It hit hard but the one that hit me the hardest was Narancia, at least in the anime. He was still an actual child and had so much going for him. The one that hit the hardest in the whole series for me isn't animated yet.
Joseph is the best man. When I first finished Phantom Blood, I was actually somewhat disappointed at Jonathon's death and Joseph's introduction. Though Joseph was cool right off the bat, I was weary because we got to see Jonathon grow up and change already, as well as develop his great rivalry and dynamic with Dio. I thought it had been a waste to kill him off at the time. However, as Battle Tendency kept going, and I got to know Joseph more, I kept liking him exceedingly. It finally clicked for me in two particular scenes. When he beat Esidesi, and when he grieved for Caesar after taking the scarf. In the former situation, it really cemented just how clever the guy was, making him all the more memorable for me. His ability to defeat WAY more powerful beings through guile and wit was incredibly fun to watch. It was with the final repetition of his "your next line will be" and his strategy that led to victory that I really found myself getting the character and loving him. In addition to that, seeing the relationship between him and Caesar culminate with that final moment of grief really fleshed out how much I Ioved Joesph and his dynamic with Caesar. It was the moment that cemented his all around great he was. He was fun, entertaining, clever, humorous, and then emotionally compelling. He went from the grandson of the first main protagonist, to one of the most exciting and distinct anime protagonists that I had seen in a long while. And when I finished Battle Tendency, I felt totally emotionally drained by the whole thing in the best way, and realized that Joseph had then become one of my favorite anime characters. I move the following arcs/seasons, but Joseph is the heat to me. He is the JoJo that I felt the most compelled to buy a figure of. And that is damn impressive considering how he started in my eyes. Araki is a mad(lad) genius.
You pronounced Caesar wrong :/

Gee, I wish he kind of followed that advice and actually let Lisa Lisa fight someone. Instead we all just get told she's a bad ass and then she ends up getting sucker punched in the single proper fight she has. Should have let her be the one to take out ACDC.
floooooooooooooooood she beat the shit out of joseph the first time she meets him
Matias Alvarez - yeah, his editor said no and Araki still apparently regrets it.
@Matias Alvarez I'm gonna have to call bullshit on that one, there's no way the editors said "B-BUT SHE'S A WAHMEN, SHE CAN'T FIGHT!"
This comment still does make sense _to me_
Francisco Rendón this is the 80s-90s we're talking about, it's perfectly plausible.
Wait, are you seriously saying that Jonathan wins his fights by just being strong? Have you even seen his fights with Dio? Have you seen how he defeated Jack the Reaper? Have you seen how he used his last hamon to take control of zombie and blow up the ship? Jonathan may not be as scheming as Joseph, but tactics where always part of his fighting style. They are just shown in less obvious way then in part 2 fights. And his fight with Dio in episode 8 is the best example of that.
cichy45 I know right people underestimate Johnathan even though I love Joseph more.
cichy45 oh I agree with you, I underestimated Jonathan battle intelligence because he was naive and too honourable, but after revisiting part 1, he actually won most of his fight with pretty clever tactics. But still he's nothing compared to Joseph intelligent, no one is to be honest.
cichy45 I think the mansion fight in part 1 is EONS better than the static finale
>Have you seen how he defeated Jack the Reaper?

Honestly, Joseph to me is more like Bugs Bunny vs. Mickey Mouse.
That’s... that’s a perfect comparison actually.
Right down to disguising themselves in drag even though Bugs can actually pull it off.
Wow.
Agreed.
I think that Joseph might just be one of the best Shonen protagonists in fiction.
The fact that Joseph has been a recurring character through 3 parts of JoJo in a row is kind of a testament to how great of a character Joseph is. That said, I'm glad that it's gonna be on Toomani so more people can join in on the JoJo Hype Train.
Speaking of which, are you gonna wait until Viz Media finishes the Part 3 dub before talking about Stardust Crusaders?
Part 3 definitely happening... at some point
But my question was if you'll wait for Viz Media to finish the English dub for Stardust Crusaders (since they are actively working on it right now) before doing a Part 3 video or if you'll do it as soon as possible, regardless of if the dub is out in time for your video.
I hope he will do it before that ^^
Koshin .Verberne Same here
i dropped at part 3 because of the whole stand thing
I'm not one to cry during emotional scenes in anime, other TV shows or even movies. (SPOILERS)
But I've gotta say that Battle Tendency made me almost cry multiple times, and even now, after watching it entirely, thinking back at those scenes make me cry a little.
I'm one of those people that get into anime/shows because of the memes. That's the only way I find myself attracted to something new. And I've gotta say - all those memes about Caesar's death made me well aware that he was going down before I actually saw the episode. But when it actually happened, I was kinda shocked. The way Lisa Lisa and Joseph broke down when they found where Caesar was buried under, almost made me cry. I felt inmensley sad, especially because the first minutes of the episode explain why he is the way he is, and what he was fighting for.
TL;DR I cried harder than that rock fell on Caesar.
Goddamnit that was really sad
I cried more for Wamuu's death and the warrior's honor and respect he had for Caesar and Joseph. I was shocked that here I was crying for a villian, but there is something great about Wamuu. He isn't a villain for villiany's sake, he is simply opposed to the heroes' goals and may have been a hero himself in another life.

「Crewy」 if you do read the manga, you will LOVE Johnny. He's basically Jotaro's personality with Josuke's heart and Joseph's mind. Johnny is best JoJo

I feel you gave speedwagon the short end of the stick. He MADE part 1 for me. I've never laughed so hard in my life
I'm pretty sure Lisa Lisa's motivation was destroying the monsters that created the monster that killed her husband. That or just protecting Joesph for reasons that are obvious.
When a new part starts, you go "Oh no! They've got rid of everything good about JOJO's!" But when it ends, you realise they somehow made it better.
This was not how I felt when watching Part 4.

I felt this up till part 4. Past that I fully embraced the constant changing nature of jojo

When I was a kid, I thought Part 3 was the beginning of JoJo. So my first exposure of Joseph was as Jotaro's grandpa (or "granddad" as Antfish's abridged series called him). So when I went back and learned there were other parts before Stardust, and experienced Joseph as a young man, it was both very bizarre yet amazingly awesome, like watching DBZ first and then watching Dragon Ball. I flip flop between him and Josuke, but they're both my favorite JoJo's, which is very fitting.

I wonder if Araki read the Odyssey before writing Battle Tendency since both Joseph and Odysseus are both proud wily bastards. I got so enthralled reading it during college because Odysseus' dirty tricks were so fun to read about, especially with Joseph in mind. #ThankYouAraki
I used both twice in the same sentence I feel like shit now.
Who wrote the Odyssey?
I mean even part 1 had inkling of tactical fighting. Remember when Jonathan inhaled the air under the rock udnerwater?
I know right, everyone seems to think Jonathan wins all the fights just because he is strong. He too has his moments. Like his fights with Dio. Most of them had a lot of tactics involved ;-;
17:04 But can Araki create a villain to surpass Metal Gear?
Khairul Izwan yes His name is Rotten and his stand [we are number one] is OP
Im still not over Caesars death.
FroggyLovesCoffee SHIIIIIIIIIIIZZZAAAAAAA
I’ll never EVER get over it
Joseph Joestar is one of my favorite Jojos because of the breath of fresh air he was when I was watching the anime. I loved Phantom Blood, but Battle Tendency made the anime just surge forward in pacing and quality, and made me a true fan. I'm usually weak for the really honorable and morally strong characters, like Jonathan, but Joseph just stole my heart from the moment he booped Santana on the nose and went "Tag!!"
I friggin love Joseph and I think it's because he has a lot going for him, he's flamboyant, he's smart but not in the conventional way, he's cunning, he is childish, he is willing to act goofy in order to win, he is confident & cool but still can show of a range of emotions, he wins with his mind and not brute strength, when he makes asspulls you are willing to forgive him because of the sheer lunacy, and he is constantly underestimate seriously Joseph has been proven to have some of the weakest hamon & the other hamon masters chastise him for it and yet he is the only one to defeat all four pillarmen, think about it in part everyone for the most part was defeated by dio or his minions (zeppeli by a zombie, and techniquely Jonathan in the end died to defeat dio) and in part 2 any hamon master who faced the pillarmen was either defeated or died and all these people were considered masters at hamon so why did Joseph win because in all the fights it wasn't his hamon that allowed him to win it was his mind, he played his opponents against themselves and just used hamon to finish them off everyone else just thought hamon was the key to defeating the pillarmen but that isn't the answer and Joseph is the one to see this in his own way, that is very interesting to have a main character not rely on the stories main technique, this is a great & layered character that you could totally see being made today and most importantly this was made in Araki's period when jojo was still a standard battle manga and the main characters are more simply, part 1 Jonathan is a standard good guy who is naturally powerful part 3 jotaro is a standard tough, who takes no shit from anyone and right in the middle is a character that is very in depth and you can see being made today
TL:DR?
@@ilovecairns5181 Joseph big brain
Even after watching Part 5 Joseph remains my favorite Jojo maybe even my favorite Jojo character as a whole.
Polnareff and Kakyoin's handshake is one of the greatest parts of the entire series. It's even funnier that Old Man Joseph is the one who tells them off, someone who when he was younger would've likely done the same thing.
Out of all the Joestars, I would say that Joseph Joestar is my favorite. He’s cocky, but never an idiot. He has his own style of street smarts and can fool any enemy he meets. Hell, he manage to fool them by making think he’s reading there minds. Still, he is a good man with a weird sense of honor. Like when he shed blood in honor of Wamuu.
You should have pointed out the difference in the way Straizo fought Joseph, and how it showed the difference between season 1 and season 2 fights, with Straizo being the season 1 type fighter, trying to overpower JoJo with no thought to any tactics.
isn't that what he did? say how the fights here are more tactical than part 1?
Red Hood Yes he did say that, but he didn't point out the connection between that and Straizo.
+The Millennial Libertarian ok
It's also notable that Straizo isn't just a season 1-type fighter, but a character FROM Season 1 himself. It fully shows how different Part 2 is from Part 1, and how willing Araki is to discard characters and storytelling philosophies from the past. Straizo is Dio's successor; Joseph is Jonathan's successor.

Jack Rigler either that or jorge joestar could count

I can't even start imagining how much you seem to love Kira...
It's a fairly common phrase, tbh.
That said if it is absolutely possible that you still can't imagine how much he loves Kira nonetheless.
I cried 5 times for the same man in this part
I wasn’t ready for the salad to get crushed and I still ain’t
The salad💀
🥗 😭
Thiccy Cheese noone was ready
Calling him the salad was clever
We all cryin over the spilt salad dressing huh :’-((
In the theme of Stronheim they sing "The man, he is evil!"
I loved Battle Tendency. I kind of liked Phantom Blood but it was also kind of a slog at times to work through it.
Battle Tendency was nothing like that, I blitzed through it. To friends who haven't seen it, I always describe it like this: 'it has a nazi character... and they make you like him', to be that demonstrates just how amazing of a writer the guy is.
It gave me such high expectation that for me Stardust Crusaders was a huge let down. I don't expect that the series will ever surpass Part 2 but I continue watching because Part 4 is enjoyable so far and I have hope that if it's written by the person that wrote Part 2, maybe we'll get the same level of story telling again.
I love you my man, and have the same feeling that you did. Well, to start off , Part 1-8 are all written by the same guy. I think Part 2 was the best as well, but trust me that Part 4 is just as good, and it only gets more dynamic as the series goes on. Stardust Crusaders was a bit of a letdown because of Jotaro, but the way the characters react is what makes Stardust so strong. Part 4 carries on that tradition, and the last half is so amazing. I think that you will really feel that Part 4 and 7 will be on par with Part 2. Hope you enjoy, and continue watching the great series that is JoJo!
Ivo Robotnik I probably will keep watching because there's few other anime which are as interesting as jojo in my opinion and just for that it can be worth it.
I disliked Part 3 mainly because of the characters and 'bady of the week' format of the show.
Even though Part 4 has carried on this format to some extent and doesn't have much of an overall plot, I've enjoyed it much more because the characters and visuals are interesting to watch.

*there's few other anime which are as interesting as jojo in my opinion and just for that it can be worth it.*
So true.
*I disliked Part 3 mainly because of the characters and 'bady of the week' format of the show.*
Oh, really? I rather liked a lot of the new characters, especially Kakyoin, Polnareff, D'Arby the Elder, Hol Horse, Oingo and Boingo, etc. I disliked the *aspects* of Part 3 which allowed Jotaro to get away scot free for doing terrible things to his friends and family, and the fact that Joseph got downgraded in terms of usefulness. He was incredibly funny in Part 3, but they make him out to be SOOOO dumb and SOOOO stale in terms of how he battles people. It's no longer, "Let me use an awesome mind game to mess with this stand user", it's just, "Let me Hermit Purple them and toss them around". Boring, inconsistent, and stupid. Other than that, and all the stupid injuries/deaths that kept cooler characters out of the spotlight, I really did enjoy Stardust Crusaders. I'm sorry you couldn't like it more than you disliked it, but I feel you.
*'baddy of the week'*
Dude, I get you and agree, we all knew how the episode would end, Star Platinum would throw a ton of punches and give a one liner to end it off, but whenever another character got to shine I really appreciated those episodes. Plus, seeing how stands worked was pretty fun, and definitely was a treat when you could imagine what one stand could do to another.
*I've enjoyed it much more because the characters and visuals are interesting to watch.*
True, Stardust really did have a pretty ugly art style. But yes, characters in Diamond are amazing, and some of the best in the series. Can't wait for you to enjoy the ending of Diamond, it's a rush!
You know I respect your opinion, but Joseph did indeed use his head in fights (like when he used hermit purple to create a map to the tar barrel/when gambled with D'arby) but in terms of his usefulness you kind of have to realize that age kinda plays a factor, not helped by the fact that his stand really isn't very combat suited)
+D Roberts The Battle of the Week format can be annoying but it was kind of a necessary development if Araki was going to continue to write Jojo's in perpetuity. IMO, Part 4 totally redeems that choice as the he starts really pushing at the boundaries and definitions of what a Stand battle can be. It feels less like artificial padding by throwing more and more obstacles between the protagonists and their goal, and more like "what wacky adventure are we getting into this time?"
Araki actually goes back and forth between road trip and single setting parts. The globe trotting in 3 feels like a linear path, with most battles just taking up time but the really iconic fights make up for the less memorable ones. In Part 4 you're exploring and learning about this one town, Morioh, as much as you are the characters. 5 goes back to road tripping and I personally didn't find the protagonists or villain compelling enough to carry that loss of stable setting. 6, we're just hanging out in a prison with some of the most likeable characters in all of Jojo and the best bits of it feel like Diamond is Unbreakable with the stakes cranked up. Steel Ball Run is perfect and it's the buddy road trip that Stardust Crusaders should have been. Jojolion is Morioh again and I honestly don't know how I feel about it yet but the central mystery is compelling.
You know, looking at it now, you could almost run Joseph and Cesar as a sort of inverted-mashup of Jonathan and Dio, right down to the character designs. Except instead of going horribly wrong, it goes horribly right.
I don't think you give Phantom Blood's battles enough credit. There was always an inkling of having to innovate to win a battle, but it was part 2 that brought it out. For example, Jonathan pulling a sonic and revealing an air pocket underwater. He knew that he would lose if he surfaced, so he innovated and found at air pocket at the bottom of the lake. Sure, the feat itself was an act of "manliness," but JoJo always had this element of victory through innovation that Battle Tendency brings out.
Actually, no villain in Jojo has surpassed The Pillar men for me yet.
How the mask that turned Dio into this threat to *everything* was just a failed, discarded experiment of theirs.
Of all things, they remind me of HP Lovecraft's Elder Things.
"After all, they were not evil things of their kind. They were the men of another age and another order of being. Nature had played a hellish jest on them - as it will on any others that human madness, callousness, or cruelty may hereafter dig up in that hideously dead or sleeping polar waste - and this was their tragic homecoming. They had not been even savages - for what indeed had they done? That awful awakening in the cold of an unknown epoch-perhaps an attack by the furry, frantically barking quadrupeds, and a dazed defense against them and the equally frantic white simians with the queer wrappings and paraphernalia ... poor Lake, poor Gedney... and poor Old Ones! Scientists to the last-what had they done that we would not have done in their place? God, what intelligence and persistence! What a facing of the incredible, just as those carven kinsmen and forbears had faced things only a little less incredible! Radiates, vegetables, monstrosities, star spawn - whatever they had been, they were men!" - from At the Mountains of Madness
Honestly, Joseph v. Kars is probably my favorite fight scene of all time. It’s a back and forth, wondering what trick either of the two sides were going to play next, and ending in the two being exploded from an erupting volcano, with a severed hand being the move the ends the fight. I don’t think anyone could’ve expected that, and that how a battle should be. You shouldn’t be able to know what’s gonna happen, because that’s how it is in real life
part 2 had best jojo. (runs away quickly)
joseph is the best jojo
Gyro is best JoJo
@@arlosteiner8382 agreed
Part 1 had plenty of strategy, sword in fire, the boat explosion, breathing underwater... BT was much more about it tho.
I see that KissAnime watermark, Eyepatch wolf exposed for needing footage
Off
7:54 Which is more memorable you say... Here is my question... Which of these two scenes introduced Speedwagon?... Enough said.
2nd
Araki got comfy with his gay. The balls even touch in the OP
Stop
Stop

Great review, but don’t title it “why you should watch Jojo’s” but instead “why Jojo’s is so good”. This is because you spoil soooooo much. So, recommending a show by spoiling it isn’t a good tactic. But, as I said, great review, you were very spot on.
Caesars death scene is literally the best main character death scene ever. And Joseph and Lisa Lisa's reaction to it was heartbreaking
Hey watch your mouth, Dire blinding Dio with rose was badass af
*me watching this video for the first time*
Do you remember this guy?
Me: YOU FELL FOR IT FOOL THUNDER CROSS SPLIT ATTACK
Bruh, the fucking text appeared earlier before the read more
Though Zepelli died in such a ''boring'' way , it was imo already an ''araki-death'' , since Zepelle got ripped in 2 halves in just 1 second , where you thought ''Ah , he is struggling atm and will overpowe-'' *rip* .
I'm seeing a lot of people talking bad on Jotaro and part 3 in general but I really don't see it that way; I actually think Jotaro's personality acted as a good counterbalance to Joseph, and Joseph's presence through the entire thing allowed Jotaro to lighten up a little and learn from his experienced Grandfather. In a way, it's like Joseph is showing Jotaro the ropes of what it means to be a Joestar! Jotaro isn't the loudest or the most colorful character but the way I saw things while watching all of part 3, I actually found myself paying MORE attention to him to see if and when he would let out a tiny little bit of his inner character, inside the shell he presents to the ones around him. (I mean, the kid never sees his dad and lives far away from the rest of his family, has no friends before P3, and is of mixed descent which in Japan might be a little odd to other kids). Jotaro's definitely harder to become fond of than Joseph, I'm not denying that at all, but I don't think it's a matter of who's better, I think it's a matter of how those characters interact and grow beside one another. You can really feel a tangible bond between them pretty soon off, and their friends (Avdol, Polnareff and Kakyoin) only make the show even better!
i mainly dont like him cause he just seems invincible
it always seems like the villains are hardly threats because jotaro can destroy them with SP
i feel like he only really had trouble with anubis, DIO, and maybe steely dan
Part 3 Jotaro just lacks depth or charisma. He is a brick wall with fists and while he makes a good foil to the overexpressive Crusaders, that just makes him a bad main character.
Which is why he became so much better in Part 4 and 6. He actually got a personality, flaws, a history and was a good supporting character. The experienced mentor who occasionally appears to help out the real main character. That's what Jotaro needed.
Part 3 is something you can enjoy mindlessly, like an action movie. While it is iconic, it's also rather bland compared to everything after it (and especially Battle Tendency before it). Araki just invented Stands and wasn't quite comfortable with them yet.
Jotaro was the worst Jojo, but part 3 had both of the best openings so it's all good
Yourson Isold
I think he has both it's just more hidden
2:55 You thought Johnathan would come back?! Did you not see the final episode of part 1? He does holding Dio’s head in his arms in an exploding ship. That’s a critical detail
Caesar's death still hurts, mostly because like you mentioned in the video, we never got to say goodbye, well properly that is. It was too sudden and hard to take it, especially when it was a character you grew to love.
What I remember the most about this character is his "fleeing tactic" XD It really stuck with me XD
I started with Stardust Crusaders and when I heard Part 2 was all about Joseph when he was young, I started from the beginning and I'm so glad I did.
Battle Tendency is my favorite Jojo's series by a mile. While I love the gentlemanly strength of Jonathan, the story lasted such a short time, and gave the character so little of a chance to develop as a person, that it almost felt as though he was just sort of magically becoming good at what he needed to, when the plot demanded it. Joseph and Caesar, by contrast, have clearly-defined and sympathetic character arcs. The pillar men may not seem as diabolical as Dio, but because they're shown to be more powerful than vampires, (and because of the many horrifying deaths they cause early on,) they do still come across as threatening, and the series still has a distinct atmosphere of dark menace to it. The loss of this sense of impending doom and dark atmosphere were the reason why I just couldn't appreciate any of the Jojo's series that have since followed. The bad guys would never seem this threatening again.
In any case, I do feel BT lost something by not having any Jonathan-like character in it. It would be better if both a gentlemanly strongman character and a clever trickster character could work together as rivals and teammates. Oh, wait... That's called Yuyu Hakusho.
“He shrouds this genius-level battle instinct..”
His, dare I say it, battle _tendency?_
You only missed Joseph's Iconic victory flag.
Now, you'll say: "I just didn't want to add more spoilers to the video"
I really thought that was where he was going with the Felix comparison, but in the end he didn't even mention it :((

in my opinion the pillar man surpassed dio as characters. they each have their own unique persona and each is memorable. kars is also more menacing then dio because he is stronger and just like dio he is cold blooded. this part is my favorite (i didn't finish reading the manga) and joseph is amazing.
