    I have 1 wish in life, and that would be Toontrack making videos of all their products with a demonstration of somebody playing an E-Drum with all the presets of Metal Foundry, Rock, Jazz, Roots, Funk, etc etc etc, that would be so fucking cool!!!!

    I simply connect my V Drums on channel 99 via MIDI cables into my daw Interface and fire up Superior Drummer. Works like a charm every time. Sounds great in Pro Tools too.

    I know this will sound crazy but hear me out. What if, instead of all the crazy, ridiculous, stressful, wastes of time & money, the electric drum kits just offered good sounds on their stock kit instead of forcing us into having to find some aftermarket sound library???

      TylerNOS386277 Just to add on, I bought a 3 times used old Roland TD3 a few years ago and it was pretty good, even recorded my bands last album with it. The only thing was the sounds just weren't as good as I wanted so I decided to 'upgrade'. I bought a brand new Roland TD15 KVS for $2,499.99 and it was horrific. Worst thing ever. Had to refund it. Now have a KAT Percussion KT3 sitting in my house I spent $999.99 on and it's nearly as bad as the Roland TD15 KVS and I'm gong to have to refund it Too. Seriously, what the fuck? Why can't anyone make a good E-kit?

    Why do we users have to do that all manually?? Can somebody from Toontrack please load up different Settings in the internet for download for differnt E-Drums (especially the common ones like Roland TD30 KV,...) Not just only two common settings. There are not so many different E-Drums on the Market!

      agreed. It wouldn't be so hard for them and it would make the product much more attractive and easy to use.

    How do you turn off the triggering of the modules internal sounds?

  • @hammondsphoto
    @hammondsphoto 7 років тому +1

    This makes it seem so plug and play.
    Started to work with Superior Drummer on my TD-9KX mesh head. While the internal sounds play and trigger bang-on perfect, getting any sort of playability out of Superior is proving harder.
    Most of the pads and cymbals double trigger 'd-dung', 'd-dung' and while I think I'm improving things with the various triggering settings on the drum brain, I'm still nowhere near the triggering fluidity you see on UA-cam. Any pointers?

    I love how after downloading their software and following their initial instructions to a "t," you get to the part where it's time to load the e-drums preset in the mapping page (which is the crux of the whole damned thing) and where the video shows three different E-Drums options to choose from, NO such options are available in the actual drop-down menu... Oh wait. I meant I HATE that. Thanks a lot Toontrack! #fail

    Hello ,
    I'm from the country Brazil .
    I have "Pro Tools 12" and "Superior Drummer" and "Nanopd 2 - Korg controller" , and then I'm wanting to learn how to configure the Nanopd 2 Korg controller for use with Superior Drummer and Pro Tools 12 .
    I already have all drivers nanoPAD 2 installed on my PC , "Korg USB - Midi Driver" , "Korg Kontrol Editor" , and then I would like you to teach me telling me what would be the setup needed to use Nanopd 2 Korg controller for use with Superior Drummer and Pro Tools 12 .
    Grateful ,
    Geraldo R. Estrela

    I tried everything in the input list. The ASIO gave me ridiculous latency unless i turned the bit rate down so bad that the quality was unusable.
    Eventually i got some 12ms by using line in, i think. But it's still off-putting so i run a headphone lead into a small roland cube to hear myself playing that in real time, then render the EZmix patches over the recorded clean track.
    It's a huge bother and i wish there was some way to just make it work the way its supposed to.

  • @MilitantOldLady
    @MilitantOldLady 11 років тому

    Could you do a guide like this for EZmix and recording of guitar without latency?
    I have a new and pretty ripped PC that i also use for recording with an ALESIS 4 track mix pad, but i just can not get the latency down to acceptable levels.

    Honestly. Why so difficult. I have followed the instructions. Can't even get a sound coming through the system. This tutorial is way too fast. Sounds like a fucking commercial where they only have 30 seconds to fit it all in. Slow down and do the set up demo properly.

    WAAAY to complex, too much crap doesnt work, big POS. They need to make this and EZDrummer both where you install the dam thing, plug and play, and can use your dam PC regular keyboard to map out the drums on and play the kits.... simple... in addition to all this electronic drum crap. If soundblaster could put an app like that TWELVE YEARS AGO, (Vdrummer) why the hell cant you guys get it right. Too many problems especially for the price. Sent mine back.

    • @racl1954
      @racl1954 9 років тому +2

      ***** We know we can use it on a midi keyboard.This demo was to show how to use with an electronic drum kit, and I agree with Guitardoode200. We should not have to be dicking around with settings and scratching our heads to be able to use this software. By now , 2014-2015, apart from some minor adjustments, you should just be able to choose your electronic drum kit and away you go,. Too many people have to spend too much wasted time with software and the like, to such a degree that you forget what you got it for; TO MAKE MUSIC.

    • @Guitardoode
      @Guitardoode 9 років тому

      ***** guess u kinda didnt get it... " playing drums with any level of musicality couldn't be done on a pc keyboard" is not only incorrect its a blatant lie... there are many hundreds of hit songs recorded before 1990 that have electronic drum and acoustic drum samples on them before there ever was the capability of velocity from any type of drum replacement equipment, that were indeed, guess what.... TAPPED OUT ON KEYBOARDS. Computer keyboards WERE the first midi controllers...They didn't start making piano style keyboard midi controllers until much later in the midi game. When home recording PC software first became available with the advent of windows 95 to the general public, it functioned completly off the keyboard of your computer. I even went so far as to tell you what one of the apps was that came bundled with the old soundblaster live 5.0 card waaaay back in 2000. Thats 15 yrs ago. My point was WHY its not out of the box programming anymore. Theres a plethera of other programs that did the same thing waaaay back in the freakin 80s. Ever hear of EMAGIC? Do you know what that software developed into and is called today? Lol even right now with superior drummer, as well as EZdrummer, you can do it with the mouse right off, and you actually CAN use the keyboard, but you have to map out the midi which takes about a decade.... You need to learn to quit spouting opinion as if its fact. which it is not. You dont need velocity control with a drum program a good 80% of the time for studio use. Some would argue that you dont need it at all ever, its a matter of opinion. The first 2 bands I know of to use electronic drum kits that were actually linked to computers both live and in the studio were the Talking Heads and Devo, both recorded entire albums tapping out drum tracks with computer keyboards, which at that time, were actually a part of the desktop and not even a seperate component yet.

    Horrible tutorial! Nothing said in this tutorial worked for me. After 2 hours of screwing around I finally got it to work but I still struggle to set the velocity and sensitivity of the E-drums.

    • @petruccirafa
      @petruccirafa 8 років тому

      Hey +Gabriel Garcia, the only way to get a better sensitivity is in your drum module, not on VST. In my TD 11 I've changed it completely until find a comfortable way to play using VST. Of course I needed to save the module settings once is impossible to use the same parameter when I'm using the module's sound, what sucks...
