More side by sides for cymbals! Compare several different lines within brands so people know what each line offers against the other in the same sound setting. Paiste 2002 vs Rude vs Masters, Sabian HHX vs AAX vs Paragon, etc. I think that would be great for people that are trying to figure out what sound they want for their cymbal setup.

I think it could go either way. The guy kept saying "only 100 quid more" as if to say "hey if you're undecided between the two, you should buy the nicer one because it's only a little more expensive"

I have a complete set of PST7 lights and I love them...they sound amazing and are so fun to play.
pst 7 lights + regular pst 7 hats is my jam
An occasional jazz and early blues drummer, the PST light range are a very versatile small live session setup.
PST 7's are fantastic cymbals
same here but i patinad my ride the over tones were a little harsh imo

Most of my cymbals are the 2002 crash's and hi-hat. Ride is actually a Alpha 20" full ride. Just love the brightest of the Paiste line of cymbals.
I have the pst7 hats because of so many rave reviews but those 2002s are way better sounding now that I hear them side by side.
You compared a regular 2002 "regular" crash to a pst7 thin crash....that was dumb....
Pst7s are still great if you have a tight budget
PST 7 ftw, I got the 14" hats, 18 & 19" crashes & 20" ride. I'm planning on getting the pst 7 effects pack asap just to complete the cymbal setup.

Fellas you are on to a good idea with blind side by side comparisons. The drummers version of the men in blazers; except yeah they're not bindfoled and it's soccer...hmmm... Anyways, I think you are on to something good, keep them coming!
I looked away to play along and I picked out the 2002 the same as you guys. It’s a noticeable difference!
It is so important to listen to reviews from those who play in your genre. WHat PST7 are they reviewing - Light, Medium or Heavy? Lights are for jazz, mediums are for Pop, RnB, Hip Hop and the Heavies are for Rock and Metal.
Not really, heavy cymbals are just a marketing gimmick, they're awful

You should also try to compare Sabian AAX vs XSR. Same manufaturer, same alloy, both series are quite bright sounding. Different price range though.

Huge difference. One on the right sounds less "psssshh", more "ponng".
I love cymbal comparisons. Be sure to use same diameter and thickness each time. It wouldn't be helpful if you were to compare, for example, an 18 inch heavy of one series with a 20 inch light of another series. I love the blindfolded tests though! Fun!

It is .. Apart is Handhammering - the fine Tune .. with Alphas .. Medium as well .. BUT -- The Black 2002 .. are simply better ..Fine overtones .. Velvet .. Full Handcraft - Hammering ...
