    Love 2002s and s series

Paiste in for the win! Much less "tinny" sounding and has that full-bodied edge of a higher quality cymbal. Just my .02!

      @AlexSlavenDrums 4 роки тому +2

true, but in fairness, the s is much cheaper than the 2002

Dang, I'm really impressed with the zildjian! Considering it's a fraction of the 2002 price, I might buy a set
Update: right after this comment I bought the box set. The mastersound hats and this crash were the only good parts in person. replaced them with a full set of 2002 big beats, and all is right with the world

Hey Terry. Thanks for the tips as always man! Just picked up an 18" medium thin S family for $50... was a steal. Sounds like a $300 cymbal. I've purchased many a cymbal now on your advice and have yet to be disapointed.

A couple of questions. #1 - Which is better the 20" Zildjian S series Medium Thin Crash or the 20" S Series Thin Crash? In your honest opinion. I will buy whichever you recommend. #2 - Are you ever going to do a lesson on The Immigrant Song Live (From the BBC Sessions)? LMK.

Hello from Chicago Carlos and Yani! My opinion:though the 20” MEDIUM THIN CRASH is a great powerful original Giant Beaty crash, the 20” is the all purpose Go To.

Was recently gifted i series after my b20 Zildjians were all pretty badly cut and in a car accident. Would love to see a comparison with i and 2002. Learning about alloys and such through your channel. I used to really love a 2002 18” that belonged to a church I played for, so I love learning Bonham held them in high regard. As the i series seems to be Zildjian putting some development into their b8 I would love to see a comparison.

Terry, great comparison between the two vintage 2002 s and your Zildjian S series! listening from the recorded end of it hard to tell a difference with the shimmer factor they both sound really sweet but you can tell the reissue is higher-pitched of course with a hundred extra grams piled on but holy moly the Zildjian S holds its own against both of them and definitely would sound fantastic either live or recorded has a substitute or replacement for the 2002 s hate to admit it but it is what it is...

Hey Terry! I just picked up a pair of brown label 15" medium 404 hi hats for $40. They're amazing and just wanted to thank you for turning me on to this brand! I now have a 20" brown label ride and the hats.

You should start a podcast and talk all things music. You'd do so well. Do it joe Rogan style. That would be killer.

Why do Paiste charge so much for these things?? Am I missing something here? I like traditional A zildjians. Can’t go wrong with anything medium thin. I have a lot of cymbals but my go to is always my 20” A crash ride and two 18” medium thin crashes. Maybe a sweet ride with a 16” medium thin but I don’t have a lot of cymbals stands at the moment

I was dissatisfied with an 18 inch S model I bought. I bought a 22 inch ride (which i still have) and was so impressed I went out and bought an 18 and a 20. The 20 inch basically died after two years and the 18 was a dog right from the start.

Absolutely love your black beauty 14"x 712" The ultimate Snare drum. The only thing I would do is ace the triple flange rim, notorious for tension rod @ 7 and 8 O"Clock loosening requiring constantly tightening in between songs

Hi Terry , only discovered ‘oleum and ‘ology recently so hi to George as well . As far as the P vs Z question goes I’m biased though I will add to your dilemma re: the weight of the 24” Giant Beat ride . 1! I prefer your more modern Paiste, nice as the Zildjian is. It leaves my fillings alone ! 2! I use a 26” Paiste Giant Beat as a ride ( with my “big” kit!) and I can only recommend the hell out of it! I’d like to thank yourself and George for rendering my tv obsolete! And for educating and entertaining in equal measure , so , gleetings from England and all the best. Mr. Magpie ( my new 3- piece band consisting of me , myself and I ! Thanks. A bientot.

Not much to check right now , sorry ; battling digital dyslexia ! And a dearth of Camco pedals - rare as rocking horse poop ! Using a Carmine A signature ddrum with that big G.Bt otherwise it’s ‘just’ the 24,20, &18s . Interesting using a 22” as a crash , too , unless you need an unremitting tsunami of ‘wash’ . Question: did Tony Williams use that there Camco kick pedal that G and yourself prefer ? ( I bought a used one recently - gorgeous action but it was worn out - got a refund and a FP7210. OK- ish😬.) I know he used to use Gretsch sticks ‘cos his ‘ tech ‘ let me keep those he left on his kick at Ronnie Scott’s - knocked a bit of acorn off playing in a Goth band ! Looking forward to the next musings , old bean . Be of good cheer as a son of this town used to say. Lemmy. Stoke-on-Trent. Later tater

Now since this video, they even have Zildjian Dark S series, and Meinl dark cymbals, which not everyone agrees the color makes them dark. I don't know the big difference here, just the end result ..I guess you could say Paiste has dark cymbals, but mostly in the expensive range b20...

The attack on the 70's is a more pleasing to my ears (explosive) compared to the reissue. The sustain (you called shimmer) is also better. That's not a bad sounding Zil, but it isn't a Paiste, and pretty recognizable as so

Not fair to the Zildjian. A is the best series for Zildjian and 2002 is the best Paiste series. You should compare the ‘02 with either the A Medium or A Custom Medium

2002, 602 and Giant Beat are the best cymbals, btw your snare sounds out of the "Bonham" sound. put a Emperor head on it and tighten it well on a 6.5-14 Supraphonic. And the snare shouldn't be tilted up, that makes rim shots for accenting harder brother

Why are you drumming like that? It’s definitely not helping me compare the cymbals..
and if that’s just how you drum I’m going to encourage you invest in a metronome and hire an instructor👍
I’m not trolling .. no offense intended
