Thank you for having me, Dan! It was a pleasure connecting with you and plainly just nerding out on everything UA-cam haha. For anyone just starting out or want to create a YT channel, you got this! Research top channels in your niche, observe “winning” aspects, take inspiration, and innovate with your unique taste. And most importantly, never stop learning.
Thank you so much bro! I just started last month, sometimes I'm having second thoughts if I should still continue with my channel but I just can't give up till I reach my goal. 😊
It's great that lately you've been covering more small channels instead of the big, famous ones. Hope you do this more often with many other different niches. 👍🏻
Totally agree! Love this! It’s definitely more helpful. I realize that the big creators trigger the algorithm more because of the recognizability, but this is incredibly helpful.
You guys may not believe me but 3 days ago I had 42 subs for 4 months straight, then the next day it rose to 64, then 82 and today I have 96 subs. It's not a big deal comparing to many channels here but it's such a blessing for me, I doubled my sub in only 3 days, and it means I still have my people who like my work for real. Just keep doing it, the best is yet to come. Thank you so much to all my subscribers 🥰
My dream of starting a UA-cam channel started when i was 13 years old and now i finally started chasing my dream, that video of yours might be really helpful for me in the long run! Keep it up!❤

Today marks the 6th birthday of my channel, and it's truly a momentous occasion. Despite having created over 200 videos and gaining 199 subscribers, I've come to realize that success isn't solely determined by luck, but by unwavering dedication to what you love. It's about how you present yourself and engage with your growing community. In this journey, I've learned that the key is staying true to your passion and consistently delivering quality but fare content. It's the authenticity and connection you build with your audience that truly makes the difference. So that it's not about the numbers but the incredible journey and community you built together. but yeah that's my thought's and opinion to being a small YT channel.
It most definitely isn't solely dependent on luck, but luck is a big, big factor, though. But if you're true to your passion, you can keep putting in the work, even if you keep running into bad luck.
Question: why you talking like he is a genius and then I see 1.6k followers and 300 videos 😮.. I created many channels with 1M+views on some videos 3 minutes long in the first 10 videos and I don't think I'm a genius
Always Always ALWAYS make your channel about your passion, if YOU don't believe in what you're doing and why you're doing it neither will your viewers and subscribers. 1000% true! Doing Good Things 4 Good People
Would agree but I have now produced 170 videos with very poor results and it is difficult to keep the enthusiasm going when someone produces a cute cat on one video and get 10x views that my whole channel has received so far
it would be a nimce change and actually super helpful if you guys made a video for you tube content creators whose niche is education and suggestions how to make a hook, get rentention, what tools are used, etc
I just started my channel to keep my travel footage on UA-cam, in order to rewatch all the memories without always searching folders; somehow I got hooked and now I'm watching all sorts of analytics on how to grow...
Authenticity is key in the journey. It’s ok to not be an expert especially with how to stuff because people will come along for the ride to learn with you. So you do you, and bring your enthusiasm with you!
Maybe I missed it, but I think a Video that teaches a bit about how to "tell" UA-cam who to recommend your videos too would be really good. I keep getting recommended to things that are completely different to what I do, as an example, my Call of Duty Video was recommended to people looking for stuff like "bing chilling", "Dua Lipa Dance" and "30 Days on Creatine" - NONE of that is relevant to my content.
There was this one Filipino girl (9 y.o.) who posted her celebration of getting 2 subscribers on FB. She was pictured with a burger bun which she put a candle on like a cake and captioned it as a celebration for getting one more sub aside from her grandmother. Netizens who saw it were moved. On that same night she gained 200+K subs.
Love this. Already do all this though (although i'm definitely still struggling with thumbnails). The rest, however, is still a matter of luck, unfortunately. Just waiting, hoping, grinding and ignore the frustration when you run into some bad luck, as much as possible... Community tab btw doesn’t work if you're really small... anything i post there I'm lucky if maybe 5-10 people even get to see it
Agreed agreed agreed. I also already do ALL the things covered in the video. Once you're making good thumbnails, hooking viewers (or trying to) in the first 10 seconds, providing good video & audio quality, being authentic & passionate about your topic, covering things that other channels haven't covered in quite the same way...after that it's all luck.
@MetalProfessor65 exactly! So done with the statements of people that if you put out good content, you will grow. It's bs. You might grow, but no guarantees whatsoever ... it's a matter of luck or bad luck. And it works both ways. Just the other day, someone started attacking me for saying it's luck... stating that I should just put in the work. Checked his channel and damn, complete garbage content, ngl... Some slowed down songs over a static image. Yet millions of views! Telling *me* to put in the work because supposedly it isn't about luck?? My videos (vlogs) take me up to 20-30 hours to make.... his videos I could create in quite literally 15 minutes. It's so annoying to constantly hear that if you don't grow, your content must suck. Not true... if you don't grow, it could indeed be your content sucks, but more likely, you just didn't run into a bit of luck, yet.
@@bbreak I hear you about the work. It takes me 12 hours minimum and sometimes, as you said, 20 or more. Fortunately I enjoy doing it, but I'm getting burnt out from doing this for more than 3.5 years and only got monetized two months ago. I've made a whole $83 so far. 🙄 Admittedly I was a slow learner, but by now I'm putting every tip into practice. *sigh* but I will just keep grinding away and see what happens. Actually I'm considering starting a new channel (while continuing to create content for my current one) that covers exactly the same content that I focused on for the first three years (bodybuilding), putting everything I've learned into practice right from the first video, and see what happens. By the way, I subscribed to your channel. It's not content that I personally am particularly interested in, but I want to support other small-channel-but-hard-working creators. Good luck!

One vid will get 7K views, and the next will get 700 even if it's a new spin on the same topic that viewers were asking for more of. Frustrating.
