you guys always trick me into buying your products because of the videos, that kia wasnt "beat up" it had a very nice dark blue paint, i wanted my indigo blazer to look like that, true consumer review though your honeydew is the best soap i have ever put in my foam cannon, its been awhile since i used another brand but it seems to leave a nicer gloss after drying before wax
What's up Angelo, Polishing this car would've been extra work, and the scratches were very fine. By claying the car, we removed the imbedded contaminants from the surface of the paint, which made the surface smooth, and filled the minor imperfections with the leveling technology of the EZ Crème Glaze. EZ Crème's formula comes with built in gloss enhancers that brought out the Kia's deep blue paint. For this car, a light polish like V32 with a medium hex logic pad would've removed the mild scratches and swirls seen in the video.
Hi there! Yes, after washing and clay barring the vehicle you can either choose to polish or move on to coatings. Wax would be your final coating. - CG Nick

Hi Ryan, thank you for watching our video, Nick wanted to demonstrate how to clay a vehicle and how to apply a glaze with a dual action polisher. The direction you clay in doesn't really matter as long as you move in straight lines, which is a key in any aspect of paint protection, washing, correction etc. If you use enough clay luber, you shouldn't be getting any marring, however, if you use the most aggressive clay bar, it will leave some kind of marring. We appreciate your comments, and we hope you continue to watch our videos. Nick actually detailed the Miata that you see on the lifts, he used a waterless wash to remove a blanket of dust that completely covered the car, it's been up there for longer than anyone can remember. Hi! If you have Deionized water then you can use it as lubricant because it contains no ions. When you use regular water, it will drag and cause marring and scratching onto the paint. Water will cause your clay to deteriorate while using it. Clay Luber is very slick and helps the clay bar glide without causing scratches and swirls. Thanks for watching and thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family!

As a college student, I really don't have the money or time to give my car a thorough clean like you have. Would a clay bar alone, improve the surface of the vehicle?
Clay bars tend add some marring to paint as they pull out contaminants. You'd need to follow it up with a polish or compounding depending on the condition of the paint.
¡Hola Enrique!

what should i use for my white car? the bumpers are white plastic and have some scratches what should i use to fix this? I also cant clean off the bugs and this black tar spots what should i use ? thanks.
Hey Tarek, that's a great question. Although the Clay Bar and Clay Block achieve the same results, they do have some key differences. The Clay Bar is the original product, the Clay Block is synthetic clay bar that is a newer product. The Clay Block only has one "hardness", whereas the Clay Bar is much more versatile with four different levels of hardness. The Clay Bar must be thrown away when dropped on the floor, whereas the Clay Block can simply be washed and reused. You will also get much more uses out of the Clay Block when used properly. You can achieve pretty much the same results with either product, it just comes down to personal preference. Glad to have you part of the Chemical Guys family, Tarek, and stay tuned for new videos headed your way soon!
Thanks for watching the video. The entire process should take about an hour or so to complete. It could take longer if you're polishing by hand, using a polisher will decrease the application process of the glaze. Nick also uses a medium clay bar which takes longer to clay because of its size.
Quick wax tip.. go to a car wash spray on a liquid wash and wax carnuba California gold... all over car... then spray a good Regular liquid wax any meguries all over .. run thru car wash... as car drires hit it with a good detailer spray showroom shine..do this for 4wks. ..clearcoat restored.... swirl marks gone....
Nice video. The clear coat on my hood has turned into blotchy white patches. Would the products you use on this video help? I’ve been told there is nothing I can do about it, it must be repainted. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.
Hey Rhonda, depends on how bad the clear coat is oxidized. If it isn't too far gone, then you might be able to polish it. However, if you took it to a professional they said there is nothing you can do about it, then there is nothing you can do about it. Once your clear coat is gone, it's gone and you will need a repaint. Remember for next time, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Use a premium CG wax or sealant to protect your car's fragile paint from the harsh elements to prevent damage on your newly painted hood in the future. Thanks for watching Rhonda, and make sure to subscribe to learn all the tricks to keeping your car looking its best for the longest!

Hi Jay, great question. Chemical Guys White Light Hybrid Radiant Finish is the ultimate gloss enhancer for a deep, wet, bright shine on white and light paint finishes. Hi! Here at Chemical Guys, we feature all the products you need to polish your car and get it back to like new condition. Rock chips require a bit more than polishing, though. Rock chips go beyond your clear coat and chip away at the actual paint, revealing the metal underneath. To fix these, you will need to take steps that fall more under the category of body work than car care, so we will direct you to your nearest body shop or paint store. Thanks so much for watching and stay tuned for a new video dropping tomorrow!
Hey Nadir, how's it going? Yes, that's a great way to protect your car after using a glaze. Thanks for watching, Nadir, and stay tuned for a new video dropping later today!
@R0cK GoD No, do this after washing the car. Prewash will definitely scratch the surface. and the thinner the bag, the better. you want to feel all the microscopic dirt, and a trash bag will lose that feeling.
Can the hydro slick ceramic coating be layered? I have a motorcycle and part of my weekend ritual is waxing the bike and I have a lot of fun doing it. Is using this product going to take away my weekend ritual?
I use just the clay bar when needed then use a good wax, not the spray on kind. Let the wax bake on in the sun until dry and buff off by hand. Do not wait long inbetween washing and waxing. It's called Maintence. Lol
My Dads new Honda Accord has been permaplated over possible bird dropping ghost stains will clay bar remove it ?? He wants me to fix cuz he doesn’t wanna take it in Thanks
Hi! Clay will remove any light contamination, if the bird dropping is very superficial, we recommend Slick Finish Cleaner Wax. It contains micro-abrasives that will break down the bird dropping stain. If the bird dropping has already etched into the surface of the paint, we recommend polishing it with a compound or polish. Try clay first, maybe that will take if off. Thanks for watching and thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family! I run a mobile detailing surface and have been looking for a solid glaze product. is there an ideal temperature range to apply this? we will be operating in as low as 40 degrees and during the summer, hit 95 degrees. hoping to see if this glaze is what we need!
Hi Mark, thanks for taking the time to reach out to us. All applications work best when used in the correct conditions, The best time to apply any type of protective, or cosmetic coating is when the vehicle's paint is cool to the touch. The best surface temperature range for applying compounds, polishes, waxes and paint sealants is in a range of 60 degrees to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Generally speaking, extreme temperatures, both cold and hot will make any product and/or procedure more difficult than working in a temperature range from 60 to 80 degree. The best conditions for using compounds, polishes, waxes and paint sealants on automotive paints would be in a cool place, out of direct sunlight, in a surface temperature range between 60 degrees and 80 degrees Fahrenheit, with comfortable to low humidity and with a light breeze to create the perfect conditions for detailing your car's finish.

Hi Johnny, The clay bar makes a whole world of difference because its the final line of getting rid of stubborn contaminants before a polish/glaze/sealant/wax. The clay is what restores your paint to feel smooth-as-glass by removing embedded dirt, pollution, brake dust, water spot minerals, industrial fallout, and more. John C they did that on purpose.
John C too*
You mean "too?"
But yes, I completely agree with you!! They probably do that to hide the imperfections.
....as sun is to light?? Is this a proverb I should know??
Well it's not a car show room, it's a garage!
good video but, you need more light shining on the vehicle it looks too dark.
mario v they did that on purpose
Because it's easier to hide imperfections in an area of darker lighting vs bright lights. Little bit of camera trickery to make you say "WOW".
Bright lights would show its not that shiney
It’s like during sunset your car looks clean when it’s really not.

Polishing compound works just as good
What's up Angelo, Polishing this car would've been extra work, and the scratches were very fine.

Noticeing alot of detailers just wipe off after claying..Why not wash it off??????
Hey!
You can rinse it off or wipe it off, either works! Just as long as the clay luber does not dry on the surface.
Thanks for watching!
@@ChemicalGuys k..i always wash cause i dont was anything left over from clay or lube..
good job rocky..thats the way to work
Is a clay block okay to use?
Absolutely!
Do you guys have a video on how to take care of heavy oxidized paint?
Cause I like it the way it is. (Sarcasm)
Cool thanks man, I'll check them out!
How long it took you to finish up total body both with clay rubbing and polishing?
Can you use the glaze with a rag instead if you don't have the machine you are using
Hey! Absolutely, use a clean microfiber towel or applicator pad to spread a thin coat of glaze.
I learned that using a 1 mil food service glove would give you a better feel for imbedded particles while doing the clay bar. Agree?
Great feedback!

That's a shame buddy, we would really want you to have access to our products. Sadly you're in a very remote part of the world, and it would be very difficult to get our products to you. Again we appreciate that you took the time to reach out to us.
Good video but Rocky isn't an actor, a bit wooden tbh
lol, thanks for watching the video! Yeah he doesn't talk muck, his personality is a bit stiff at times. You could say that he sits there like a "stump"
Ok i should use clay bar. Then glaze then a wax. Or sealant then wax. Does the glaze wash off as i read below and the shine wont be as good ? What steps should i use to bring back the shine on my 2014 maxima. Shine is nice now but has minor swilrs
Can you apply a wax/sealant after the glaze?
Hi! Yes that is correct. After a glaze we recommend applying a sealant then a wax in that order. Happy detailing!
If you don’t have an electric polisher thing.. can you just use your hands to spread the bonder polish?
Hi Chadwick! Absolutely, spread your favorite glaze, sealant, and wax by hand or machine polisher.
Question, if all your car needs to be clayed do you use one or multiple clay bars??
One clay bar can treat several vehicles.

Do you have any videos on fixing paint chips? I have the same dark blue Optima & need to fix some rock chips on the front bumper & hood.
After applying a glaze, can I top it with a silica sealant?
Hey Nadir, how's it going? Yes, that's a great way to protect your car after using a glaze. Thanks for watching, Nadir, and stay tuned for a new video dropping later today!
Google the term glaze you cant point glaze in a bottle well you can its called paint
A better way to find the contamination is to put your hand in a plastic bag. You feel EVERYTHING on the surface, and you know when you've done enough.
@R0cK GoD No, do this after washing the car. Prewash will definitely scratch the surface. and the thinner the bag, the better. you want to feel all the microscopic dirt, and a trash bag will lose that feeling.
Thank you for making this work easier for us!
Any time David, stay tuned, more great videos coming your way.
Hello, I enjoy the work from Chemical Guys. Just wondering after glazing the vehicle can I put wax for extra protection?
Hey! Yes, you can apply a wax after applying a glaze. Thanks for watching and happy detailing!
Love this beautiful color it's my fav. Color & kia optima uff my fav. Car to OMG I really want a car like this
Thanks so much for tuning in!!
Where can I get a big ass clay bar? Size of a rag atleast
Can the hydro slick ceramic coating be layered? I have a motorcycle and part of my weekend ritual is waxing the bike and I have a lot of fun doing it. Is using this product going to take away my weekend ritual?
Hey! Yes, that is correct. You may still apply your favorite glaze, sealant, and wax over HydroSlick. Thanks for watching and happy detailing!
I use just the clay bar when needed then use a good wax, not the spray on kind. Let the wax bake on in the sun until dry and buff off by hand. Do not wait long inbetween washing and waxing. It's called Maintence. Lol
good job man and very clear demonstration thank you
Thanks for watching, we appreciate the awesome feedback!

Great.. thanks....will do👍
I run a mobile detailing surface and have been looking for a solid glaze product. is there an ideal temperature range to apply this? we will be operating in as low as 40 degrees and during the summer, hit 95 degrees. hoping to see if this glaze is what we need!

Does a clay really make a big difference, or can you not just wash it out?
Hi Johnny,
The clay bar makes a whole world of difference because its the final line of getting rid of stubborn contaminants before a polish/glaze/sealant/wax. The clay is what restores your paint to feel smooth-as-glass by removing embedded dirt, pollution, brake dust, water spot minerals, industrial fallout, and more.
Check this video out, Johnny!
