You absolutely did well detailing the hood. Leaving the rock chip out because that requires body work and paint, there were still very noticeable scratches on that hood. The next level is to wetsand any "serious" damages to the finish with 2 thousand grit wetsand paper
Use 3000 and finish with 5000
Thia dude is calm and knows how to explain the process properly. I appreciate this video
Happy detailing!
This dude is totally therapeutic to watch.. dig it
Thanks for tuning in and being part of the Chemical Guys family!
Agree!
❤YES! Lol….and he’s very handsome. Bless His Heart.
I love chemical guys products. Only products (tried 4 diff ones) for me and my car that wiped off easily and gave the car a deep shine.
Thanks so much for being part of the Chemical Guys family!!
I was just thinking about ordering the clay bar set for my black car yesterday and now I see this video lol! How Sway….Thanks for this well detailed video.
😀😀 Happy detailing!
I got a heavy duty claybar to remove the overspray on my driver side door and it has a good effect. But I realized it's hard to tell if the claybar is dirty because the color is gray. Hopefully in the future the heavy duty clarbar can be made by the light color.
That looks awesome 👌 Really like your products!
Thanks so much for being part of the Chemical Guys family!
May I ask if the same process for removing existing ceramic gloss? thank you
When you finish polishing, how long do you need to wait before applying a wax coat and a ceramic coat?
My car is covered with bugs. Even after washing and using bug and tar remove they’re still there. Will the clay bar remove dead bugs? What do you recommend to do?
You would have been an excellent trainer in the military bro
Im looking to ceramic coat my Black Motorcycle but I need to remove some swirl marks. I was going to clay bar it. Then would I also use the P4 then ceramic coat it? Or not use P4 and just ceramic coat it after the clay bar? Thanks
I can still see swirls though. Maybe it needs another pass with compound?
Hey guys, awesome videos. I’ve got some very light scratches and swirls. First question, what’s the difference between the C4, P4, your V series, and VSS? What would work the best in my situation? Can those swirls and scratches be taken care of with a hex-logic hand pad? Thank you!
If I need to remove oxidation/sun damage What pad and compound do I use for you line of product? Thanks!
That’s a good question, I would also like to know.
C4
Follow all his steps and use the products in the order he is telling us. It’s amazing.
I wanna get a job doing this I love cars and working on keeping them clean has always been my favorite thing about owning a car. Do you need any type of degree or anything to get a job like this or can I just show up to a shop and ask for this type of job
How much pressure are you using on the machine are you pressing on it hard or just letting it do it under its own weight
Chemical Guys, what do I do if a vehicle has pin sized rust spots coming through as well as cosmetic scrapes? Can I still ceramic coat it? Or must I get my whole vehicle professionally repainted first?
Pin sized rust spots may not be from your car, if they’re that small, you likely picked up pieces of iron from the road. Try clay bar and use an iron decontamination spray as lubricant.
@@evanfitch6810 thank you!
can I apply both the products with hand/microfibre cloth instead of buffing machine ?
Yes
I have a question boss Tesla cars have water base paint do you feel like the foam pads your yawing work better then microfiber pads?
Looking to do my black Tesla! Is there any steps after the p4 to get any other micro scratches out?
Also is there a process to follow after this to ceramic coat the vehicle?
Hey all. My C-4 compound is a soupy consistency not a paste even after shaking it up. Is there away to get it back to its paste like consistency?

This stuff didn't work on my paint and was liquidy as well.
I still have PTSD from doing my headlight I am not qualified to touch my black paint with a buffer😂😂😂😂😂
Never use a buffer. Clay bar then polish by hand with a cloth.
Do all these scratches come back after a couple washes?
Yes
Depends on how you wash the car. If you use brushes or carwashes yes they will. If you wash your car without physically touching it they wont. I wash my car using a pressure washer. You can also use a foam cannon. Apply soap with the pressure washer (soap attachment) or your foam cannon. Dry with a leafblower as even microfiber can leave marks
I just got a model y and after 5 washes I was upset how my microfiber rags left swirls also on front bumper left some scratch looking lines. I guess black color is high maintenance. Constantly waxing .
Try a touchless car wash if you have one near you. It uses harsher chemicals to get it clean so be advised of that, but it won’t scratch.
Yep… its like an kids filler for sale cars. Or then you need A LOT of wax top of it
Can I do this outdoors?? Thanks hope to hear from you soon..
Hey! Paint correction is best performed indoor or a cool, shaded area that is out direct sunlight.
Mine left swirls after doing it and it won’t come off
Mine did as well. It really made the paint look worse than when I started.
This is what I'm thinking for my black F 150 pickup. Any suggestions and advice is welcome. Start with clean slate, clay bar, C4 followed by P4, then another wash with clean slate just to make sure everything is off. Ceramic treatment with Carbon Force. Then I'd like to put a glaze followed by a wax. Any suggestions on what to use for the last two ?
Instead of washing after the polish, I used their Wipeout spray.
Sounds like a fun weekend! Make sure you wait 24 hours after Carbon Force before your final steps - since your paint is dark we recommend Blacklight Glaze (www.chemicalguys.com/black-light-glaze/GAP_619_16.html) followed by either Butter Wet Wax for a warm glow, or Lucent Spray Shine for a cool mirror shine. Maintain your coatings with HydroSuds so all your hard work lasts as long as possible! (www.chemicalguys.com/hydrosuds-ceramic-carwash/hydrosuds-ceramic-carwash.html) Happy detailing!
Do these compounds replace your V series?
Hi guys, I need your help. I have a black rav4 that's parked outside under a tree. It's has scratches all over, and the plastic trim is dull. Please help me get my baby looking like new again.Thanks.
Clay baring scratched the f out of my car ! Used tons of lubricant and the clay was clean ! 😢
goodjob!😊
Thanks for tuning in!
I wash my black car with extreme soap and it looks crazy good until i vet up close and i wa na take off on somebody😂😂😂
Happy detailing!!
Should we clean the vehicle before starting this process ?
Absolutely!
Use clean slate to was the car.
Maybe should of took out in the sun to see if the swirls really came out that shows in the sun most after buffing a black car
Can you just clay the vehicle then wash it or do you also have to polish it?
Hi there! For best results we recommend machine polishing before applying coatings.
Outstanding
🤩🤩
I’m about to catch hell trying to do this on my titan hood😅 but it needs to be done. Made a mistake by using a car wash brush. Yep tragic
Happy detailing!!
Black paint looks so sleek but are very hard to maintain
Chemical Guys has you covered!
You are correct I own a black car myself it’s extremely hard to keep it clean
What to use for a black 85 firebird? Garage kept but not a lot of clear coat left on it. Minor scratches. I’ve been told if I use a a buffer it’ll make swirls that won’t come off, but the orbital is different..
C4 removes your clear coat and make your car look less clear after 2 months
how hard are u pushing when using the c4 or p4??
It’s all depends on how deep the scratches are. Deep ones need a hard and slow pass. Light ones can be done with light and fast passes.
Sup with that Scion IQ creeping out in the back?
I'm actually trying to restore a neglected Grey Scion IQ.😮
After using C4, P4, is it OK to use wetwax?
Definitely! It'll add a nice layer of protection on top - happy detailing!
Chemical guys, I have a question. Do I have to use both p4 and c4 or can I just use one of them? If so which one would be better?
Hey there! While for best results we recommend using these together as a two-step process (C4 then P4), you can absolutely use them individually, depending on your needs. For scratch and swirl removal you'll want to use C4, for a finishing touch and that sweet jeweling look use P4. Thanks for watching!
@@ChemicalGuys I am 13 years old and I love detailing cars, Now I know what to use to fix up my dads car! Thank you very much!
Yes you have to use both. If you use compound it has abrasives in it. It’ll leave pad marks and the polish takes those out and brings out the jeweling (shine) out
Ugh I thought this was simple video talking bout clay and stuff
prefer synthetic claybar, way faster
Thanks so much for your feedback!
It's better to hand wash cars. Those car washing centers scratch up the car..
Thanks so much for your feedback
Now the only problem remaining is owning an EV..
😬
How often do you need to use P4 or how long should it last? 🩵 love your products!!
