Thanks alot, this is going to prove indefinitely helpful when I build my sub box! One question, for just a simple box, with the woofer mounted on the inside, should I cover the entire outside, or leave a small ~1cm strip of bare wood around the hole for the woofer to seal properly?

How do you spray contact cement? I'm assuming that you'll need an inline filter right? Do you need to mix anything before pouring in a spray gun? I have a husky 8 gallon compressor 4CFM@90PSI
If you need good felt carpet with a backing Polymat is great quality and sold at bargainshore dtcom. They also sell glue adhesive for a good price.
Im about to carpet my box, other than the DAP glue what other glue would you recommend?
Im contemplating a Permatex or 3M. Suggestions?

As far as density to cost is concerned yes MDF. I prefer birch over MDF if I can afford it.

I got alot of outside corners and sharp ends just not a saqure box. How would i seem those into place.

Man that carpet looks nice. I got the carpet from parts express and it's stretchy and thin. It didn't turn out half as nice as this. :(

what site can u buy this box carpet. i need to recarpet a falso floor peice 4 ft long 3 weet wide. we drilled holes to hides rcas and wound up snagging the carpet in the drill bit and it pulled it up and looks like shit now

i picked up a yard of this for $11 at best buy today, putting it on later.
you can probably find it cheaper at an audio store, but i had a gift card, so i just took the loss.
you can pick up a can of spray glue at autozone or advanced auto parts. it was only like $7.

This technique hides seems for all types of carpet. I just carpeted my buddy's box w black felt and he had to look really hard to find any seem at all!
