I have never done anything with fiberglass before. There are plenty of instructional videos about it, but none are as descriptive, down to Earth and to the point as yours. I'm in the middle of a 2009 Tacoma Access Cab stereo upgrade with some tough placement choices, and solely because of your videos, I actually believe I know enough to try some custom panels. These videos will be loaded up on my computer the whole time for my first few tries. Awesome videos and thanks for posting...
holy Shit batman!. Iv seen your other fiberglass video on how to build a fiberglass box and I was amazed with how you teach the concept of building it. Today I fixed the holes on where I had mounted my tweeters, with fiberglass and realize it is not as hard as I thought it was. Now thanks to this video you have given me the confidence I needed to start my custom kick panel speaker pods.
Thank you for this video. Im trying to learn how to "fiberglass" custom auto parts. Your vid's (out of the 1,000 i've watched) is by far THE BEST! Very easy & simple to understand, not all of the background noise, B.S., confusing extra steps, etc. Very str8 4ward. NO MISSED STEPS EITHER! Cant wait to check-out your other video's!
Hurtugood86, your tutorial is just as much, congratulations, if half of the video tutorials on the net had half the quality of her everything would be much easier to make, very good, the best.
Thank you. Learned a lot. I need to do this to my door. As I have no room in my kick panel area. Just bought a router tonight that fits on the circle jig. So glad I found this video. Made me glad I bought it.
NIcely done, I will use the tutorial to do my kick panel for my 2003 Isuzu Ascender. Excellent job! I will do an extra step and add tweeters as well. Once again your tutorial will me help me do mines. Thank you...
My man that was one of the most informative videos I have seen yet excellent job to the point straight up I know how to build kick panels now great job thank you for your help I will be subscribing
This is the crude way of doing it, would never fly in a high-end shop, look up how to make a fibreglass plug and fibreglass casting with a tooling gel coat. You could do it his way but in person, it looks horrible. It's also much messier his way to much sanding and cutting, the end result doing it his way it will look like dented metal rather than a smooth part that flows with the car. Either way good luck mate.
Farmer Fpv - yes you are correct “HIS JOB “ will look horrible in person . He didn’t take the time to use a skim coat of lightweight bondo filler or cut and sand the edges nice and neat . Lots of people use this method while using more effort and finesse to have a flawless outcome . When I seen him starting to prime that bumpy surface I couldn’t believe what I was seeing .🤯😳
You took the shape of the kick panel with fiberglass and resin, and you structured the pod with fleece. Great work BTW; but a question remains: You didn’t explain to your viewers how you were able to fasten your custom build back onto the cabin. So how did you do it????
1) could u explain a little more why u used aluminum foil for the curved areas?..2) whered u get that fleece??...that looks amazing to work with for this
use cotton or some other fabric, fleece takes upto 4x the amount of resin for the same job, The foil was to make sure the glass didnt come away from the corner.
Great video! I envy the pneumatic tools you use. I wanted to ask you the SCFM/PSI compressor specs you need to operate them properly (sander, sable saw, etc). Thanks!
I love the post: precise, concise, and clear!! thx. Can I make fiberglass tubes ~.5-1.5"OD ~.3-1mm thick that are flexible but capable to transmit ~200 Nm torque?
can u send me the list of items to buy to do this project so i can have a shopping list already printed out? i wanna do this to my truck and to my doors too. so far best video i've seen on doing the molds. also the small wood piece u glued in the center to hold the rings what angle is the block cut is it 45 degrees? great job!!
Question? If I use fiberglass that already has resin in it would this still work? I work making windows for jets and we use fiberglass with white. Black and carbon fiber would any of that work? If so I can take some from my work to do this project. Answer me asap plz, looking forward to making my mods
Excellent video and instructions! The only suggestion I would have is to reinforce the front of the kick panel pod with the fiberglass matting same as you did the back. This will avoid any possible flexing.
nice panel i want to try this but i have never done anything like this before so 1 question when mounting the panel do you put it over the original panel or replace it totally with the fiberglass one you made if its replace what is used to hold it in place...thanks
Actually, you skipped a pretty important step. When you use a part to create a mold, you then use the mold to create the new part. You used the mold as the part which makes it oversized in every direction.
The round support is not obsessed with mebranen strong that covers if it is not filled from within, because the resin is used only on the surface, anyway nice
you can move the brake pedal over a little bit by drilling a couple new holes in the firewall and also trim the side of the pedal a little bit. or cut it off and reweld it. there is a video of a chevy c10 doing kick panels and ran into the same thing. it's a red and white stepside 2wd on airbags

Freaking excellent! I'm not paying anybody to do what I can try and do myself first. I truly appreciate this example!
The most clear and concise video I've seen on howl do this, none of that unnecessary talking, just straight directions!!!!props!!lol

i love how your videos are straight to the point with no extra bs
This was the best video I've seen on fiberglass! You were direct, detailed, showed just enough video of each step, and made it look easy. Awesome vid.
that foil trick to get the matt to stay down was GREAT! thank you!!
Great video. Love that you made another kick panel and then made the speaker pod. Very informative.
Hurtugood86, your tutorial is just as much, congratulations, if half of the video tutorials on the net had half the quality of her everything would be much easier to make, very good, the best.

simplest instructions I have seen from any other video. I am ready to try it myself. Nice work!!
You are kept very helpful to share about subwoofers, it is also demantable post for those who want to upgrade their old subwoofer.
Very good instructional video, most of these are just pictures with crappy music, I will be having a go using this method soon.
this was made in 2012, This is such a clear video, Nice.
youve got some serious patience man! great job!
quick, simple and informative... great job....
The foil trick was brilliant!!! Thanks for sharing!
NIcely done, I will use the tutorial to do my kick panel for my 2003 Isuzu Ascender. Excellent job! I will do an extra step and add tweeters as well. Once again your tutorial will me help me do mines. Thank you...

Foil for the curves..🤯 never knew! Awesome video!
Dude great video! I love open, honest, and detailed how to's and this covers all three. Great stuff man! Keep up the good work!
That is one of the best videos I've seen! Kudos, detailed and explained very well!
Great video! Super helpful info. - Your work looks excellent.
that flush bit technique was a good idea. I'll have to try that next time I fiberglass a speaker enclosure.
Modfyd GARAGE how do you mix fiberglass resin with hardener
Dude it literally comes with instructions when you buy it
Very nicely explained and a well done video clip. Nice job.
Really interesting, simple and efficient! Thanks!
Great video. Adding it to my favorites for when I build some panels in the future.
Great process man probably the best I have seen yet I feel confident I can do this awesome video u have a new sub
You did a really good job sir.
That was one of the most informative and interesting projects I've 👍👌
Good job but a lot of us are wondering how you mounted it after you were done. Could you please provide us an answer? Thanks in advance.
Pretty nice video you have made here.
Although i did not understood everything (i am not a native English speaker).
I like it.
That was an awesome video! Keep up the good work! Your video was so good it makes me want to try it with out fear of failure.
one of the better videos, nice job!
Awesome. I’ve always wondered how that was done. Thanks!
I would do coats of that primer build up and sand down twice if you want a less glossy surface like that
Can u plz tell me what product u use for all steps. It help s ppl like my self
perfect bro
right business
excellent knowledge of materials project
and execution
Sweet video bro can't wait for more videos of other projects...!!!
The cooking spray work with metal too?
Hey Holmes. Great job!!! - this piece you made, is it thick enough? I see guys putting multiple layers of fiberglass mesh.
So no fiberglass mat or cloth on top of the fleece?
To the point. Covers the main topics quickly. A lot of instructional videos are verbose and dull. Nice job.
it is standard fabric? or special material when you making shapes
You took the shape of the kick panel with fiberglass and resin, and you structured the pod with fleece. Great work BTW; but a question remains: You didn’t explain to your viewers how you were able to fasten your custom build back onto the cabin. So how did you do it????
They never explain that. All these fiberglass videos never how to attach.
Great look and solid build, but what about the tweeter? Holesaw?
cooking spray? didn't think of that. great vid
Very informative. Well done 👍🏾
Brother i love this. The bell is on
Nice tutorial subscriebed !!
When wrapping fleece, wrap it as tight as possible. If your panel warps, it's because you didn't use enough fiberglass the first time.
shouldn't you reinforce the fleece with mat?
Nice job Man. Hello From Paris.
turned out super good
Finally a good tut thanks man
Great video! I envy the pneumatic tools you use. I wanted to ask you the SCFM/PSI compressor specs you need to operate them properly (sander, sable saw, etc). Thanks!
Excellent content
How do you bolt on the panel to the kicks?
I love the post: precise, concise, and clear!!
thx.
Can I make fiberglass tubes ~.5-1.5"OD ~.3-1mm thick that are flexible but capable to transmit ~200 Nm torque?
currish
awesome vid u made it look simple 👍👍
awesome!...great work man...I need to learn to do this ASAP👍👍
good video ... good instructions, clear sound - I like it :)
3:22 what this type cloth ? Can you give me website for this ?
And what you use spray company 6:03
Where did you use fiberglass? Resin is not fiberglass, and how did you make the attachment clips on the replica?
yeah how did you secure it ?
Hi my friend!!!! What kind of cloth did you use, please? Thank you!!!
can u send me the list of items to buy to do this project so i can have a shopping list already printed out? i wanna do this to my truck and to my doors too. so far best video i've seen on doing the molds. also the small wood piece u glued in the center to hold the rings what angle is the block cut is it 45 degrees? great job!!

This is awesome I have a 95 Yukon 4door I think I'm gonna use this method to install 8" subwoofers in the rear doors instead of using a speaker box.
HurtUGood86...what brand saw did you use to cut that perfect circle?
How do you know if you left enough air space for the speaker specs.?
Muy buen trabajo, lástima que no es en castellano, felicitaciones, espectacular!!!!
nice panel i want to try this but i have never done anything like this before so 1 question when mounting the panel do you put it over the original panel or replace it totally with the fiberglass one you made if its replace what is used to hold it in place...thanks
replace it. the old pannel is no longer needed
thanks
Nice video dude, just gained a new sub. Thank you
thank you, wow it was really nice, clever , makes me think of endless possibilities
Great job, looks great
this was a really good vid, thanks!
thank you! for your video it great to share knowhow that easy to do kick panel with my self.thank !!!!!
Great video. I will make my own.
question. why you didn't use body filler on this project?
thanks in advance
The shape probably wasnt too complicated to were there was major imperfections and the heavy texture would cover if any just like drywall.
Single extrude shape with out any intersection, bump or hole I guess.
got ya..thanks
Actually, you skipped a pretty important step. When you use a part to create a mold, you then use the mold to create the new part. You used the mold as the part which makes it oversized in every direction.
If your doing this for sq. Don't you need to make sure the angle is right?
For a 6.5 midbass driver in a 3 way setup? No. A two way setup? Doubt it
to lay the fabric is to be cut to the shape of mold so that it is smooth
please can u tell me about name of
matreial used please
is it regular fleece you are using?
Good job dude
I love the way kick panels look but I hate the obstruction it often creates in tighter cars.
what was the point of using that fiberglass epoxy to stick the wooden piece in stating its verry strong if in the end you wanted to remove it anyway
Because it needed to be strong enough to hold the speaker mount in place when you stretch the fleece and then you just pry it up in the end.
Great vid man! Good job w/ those panels!
The round support is not obsessed with mebranen strong that covers if it is not filled from within, because the resin is used only on the surface, anyway nice
Where do you get the fleece from? I found some at my local market but it wasn't stretchy at all. Are you using a specific type of fleece?
Walmart has it too
Good job. Decent video thanks g
what is the name of the spray that you used to throw the plastic before putting the fiberglass
It's a cooking oil spray like Pam
don't use cooking oil, use wax…and you should reinforce the fleece with more matt
Что за ткань используешь? Как называется?
How did it sound with almost no airspace for the speaker to work in?
Canadian Car Audio Addict Like crap I bet. LOL I was thinking the same thing
Pods is meant for SQ not SPL
cooking spray for a release agent Genious!
Nice video. Any tips for getting around the emergency break on GM and other vehicles?
I made some that got in the way of the e brake would like to see some made or how to make some.
you can move the brake pedal over a little bit by drilling a couple new holes in the firewall and also trim the side of the pedal a little bit. or cut it off and reweld it. there is a video of a chevy c10 doing kick panels and ran into the same thing. it's a red and white stepside 2wd on airbags
