- In this video we go over a way to carpet a subwoofer enclosure in just a few minutes with no special tools. This is not the only way to carpet enclosures, in fact its not how I carpet most enclosures. However, most anyone can carpet these enclosures at home with this method. Don't settle for a prefab enclosure when you can carpet one cheap!
Parts we used can be found at:

Smiley cuts at the end, so good. I would have never figured that out! Thanks!
This man is a genius! Thanks so much! Oh and I've seen many speaker builds from many reputable UA-camrs and you give some of the most comprehensive common sense!
This is by far the most organised video of this I’ve seen.
I doubt that. Lmao. It was hard to get everything on camera without being in the way.
I had no clue where to even start with this but that’s beautiful, thanks man this helps so much 🙏🏼
Never having done this before, when you cut out the first smiliey i was like, what the hell? Lol thanks for the great video man. Helped my brain understand how this works without overlapping carpet.
I'm glsdnit helped you
Thanks for taking the time to go over those last cuts. Couldn't quite understand but I got it now!
They are the hardest part!
Excellent explanation and detail.
Great sub box tutorial 🤝🏻 got straight into it and described everything short and simple

Outstanding. You taught me some new tricks. Well done.
Fantastic! Thanks for posting this
Good video, carpeting part was good, I've always struggled with it. Will be giving it a try!
Terrific, absolutely terrific bro!! 😎

Thanks man. With this method you can do it too
Absolutely beautiful man…. Thanks for showing me this…
There's a carpet video too
Good job sir. 👏 Im not building a speaker box but im considering building a slide out drawer in the back of my SUV. This tutorial helped me understand the carpeting process well. Thx
Great video!
Nice work, great video!

Got a new subscriber, great tutorial 👍
Amazing!
Ayy I like how you did the sides bud!
They fell right into place
Nicely done good job on top and bot cuts :)
Its an art. Lmao
Very nice
Thank you !
Great video
Perfecto!😀
You sir should be an instructor for this line of work. Very rarely have I followed a UA-cam " instruction manual" that worked the very first time. You have made it into my very small and exclusive "EXPERTS" category of instructional videos. BRAVO!!! Thank you so much! You have made me very happy with my finished product, and if I'm happy with it, my son is really going to be impressed! You have helped make this a Christmas present to remember!🤙🤘
Excellent job mister! I have always had pretty decent skills when it comes to wrapping Christmas presents, but of course when it comes to a project like this, avoiding overlapping is crucial. I really like how you kept it perfectly flat by precision cutting on the ends.
This video is definitely going to assist me with installing the new felt outer lining on my box so I can get it sold.
Thank you for the video! I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge 👊🤘🤙
I'm glad to hear it helped you. Check out my most recent custom enclosure build
Legit video!
Wow that’s cool
Keep it up man!
Much appreciated. Just ordered some budget subs. Going to try them out and see which one i like more
very nice. exactly the information i need, because i am covering my diy speakers too with that same kind of cloth. i haven't thought that that is how it's done with the side covers. thanks.
Im goad to help. Simple tricks are sometimes the best!
@@ATCA just to give an update. here's how my speakers look now. 😄

Thank you very much
No, thank you!
Thanks.
Awesome
Wow sorcery for the sides!
Wow nice..,
Dang that’s neat
Trevor Moon for PRESIDENT!!!
Hey Just wondering how many cans of glue you went through? Awesome video thanks! Really helpful.
Great tutorial, you have a gift at explaining things.
Half MOON cuts at the end.😊
Thanks for this tutorial mate! Couldn't have done mine without it. Linked you in my latest subwoofer video where I build mine.
Link to it?

Very nicely done. One thing that seems to be missing is how to size the piece of carpet before you start working so that the flaps are the size you need them to be. My first attempt I had way too much material and ran into a lot of difficulty.
I usually just buy a $10 piece from Amazon. Whatever size that is
I don't mean what you buy, but how you size it for the particular box. My box is more rectangular than square so those end cuts are harder. If the flaps aren't in the ballpark it just turns into a mess. On my second attempt the flaps were too short in the long axis, so another fail. @@ATCA
Damn, fckn NIIIIIICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tight
Could u share link where u bought carpet cloth
glad you can see the seem..i couldnt lol
Very Good Job
I just tried my first one and have glue showing on all the seams and some other spots. Looks like it's better to only glue the box to avoid glue showing in the seams. But I tried the utility knife method with a new blade, and it took several passes and some tearing to get it to cut. Any special tips for getting a knife to cut through on one or two passes??
Oddly enough, a sharp knife is the secret. those blades last only a few cuts. Lots of pressure. I used to freak out about glue on the edges. However, skill will keep the glue where it needs to be, and goo gone will clean up the edges. Just keep trying.
More force when cutting, and goo gone for edges. Works a treat
Does the carpet do somenthing with the acoustics? I mean, what happens if the box is not carpet? It affects the sound of the speaker?
Hey Trevor, i'm doing my box tomorrow.
How would you do the fabric (in my case leather) around the port in a box with a little more power (4 12"s) - so it doesn't peel on the first low notes?
If you seal it like i did with polychylic and lay the glue on both pieces and lay it on thick, it should hold. The only other option is to make the box with one baffle, then make a second baffle and rabbit the inside of the port about 1/16. Then your material can be glued and tucked into that rabbit groove
@@ATCA Thanks for the advice, i did it today and it looks decent :)
@@Cher007 post a pic or video bro. Id love to see it!
How much feet would I need to cover a speaker Box Chuchero size 8? Basically 2 of these boxes
Just get like 3 yards
did you polycril the inside of the port?
Yes absolutely. Everywhere there is paint.
I wanna know how many people did the smiley and ended up throwing the box lol
This is a fairly small box. Most boxes may be larger than this. I'd imagine a bigger box may be harder to throw
Could you show a build using an aero port.
What aero port would you like me to use ?
@@ATCA I guess a standard flared aero port
@@matthewstringfield8924 post a link
Same as wrapping a present
What is the name of that black cover
At what part? Put time and ill look
Its crazy super 77 was $10 a year ago... its almost $20 a can today, at walmart. Found it for $12 at lowes...
I only pay 10 a cam. Maybe it's your area. I see guys get birch for 55 a sheet. Its 79 here
@@ATCA our wood is about the same price for birch, here in Phoenix 3/4" MDF is $61 a sheet , must be local Walmart greed. I can't imagine they sell a lot of it, Lowes is 200-300 yards from Walmart lmao
@@CMOTC true. Ours is the same way I think mdf I'd 36 a sheet
How wide was that carpet you used?
I think 74"
@@ATCA damn ok. The link you post won't deliver to Canada. Everything on Amazon is like 4 feet max.
@@LownWolf you can still patch the sides in tho
@@ATCA this is true.
Lol lies u said the second blade was even cheaper at walmart when the first was $1.24 and the second one was actually $1.84 more expensive your good ...BIG CAP . 😂😁 Jk Jk All jokes over here. Really liked how your box turned out . keep up the great work bro
You can tell you've done this a lot
In the spirit of the only dumb question is the one not asked...how did you know where the pilot holes were?
Peace be upon you, my love, please, I need the measurements
Wow looks too easy but I’m sure it’s not
It really is
Great video!
