    is the ducati multistrada 1200s , the right machine, do we have to worry about any Italian fragility or reliability.

    I’ve just returned from a similar trip. My friend and I did a number of alpine passes in Switzerland, France and Italy including the Stelvio pass and, as you say, the views, roads and scenery are breathtaking. The Stelvio was the cherry on the cake and we also returned via the B500 through the Black Forest. Looking at our photos it’s hard to believe the roads we rode over and it’s one I’d recommend to anyone 😊

    We cancelled a long planned trip to Switzerland this summer because of the floods and all the flood warnings (still active 6th of June). You seemed to go without knowing about it and succeeded never experiencing any of it. Next year we'll probably just close our eyes and go too. Stay safe!

    • @wsmv
      @wsmv  6 місяців тому

      We had booked all the accommodation last year so didn't have much choice. I didn't know about the floods but the route we took showed no sign of them at all.
      There are environmental issues all over the world but it shouldn't stop anyone going on an adventure, you stay safe too 👍

      Hi Steve, having the tanklock tank bag is a game changer, every time we stop it comes off and goes with us so we know everything important is together.
      Plus having such easy access to cards for the toll stations is so much safer than messing with zips and pockets, especially in the wet .

      Yes I use an old android phone for my satnav, got an idmobile similar card in it that let's you use your data in Europe so I can use Google maps for the updates. Been a godsend having maps updating with traffic, especially with some road closures around stelvio 👍

    Hiya, I'm enjoying these videos to see how you're getting on. I'll be doing a similar route myself in September.
    Just wondering about the vignette.
    Can't decide whether to purchase one at the border or do it online.
    I couldn't tell what you did.
    I'm not one for sticking vignettes to the bike as they're a pain to remove, so I'm thinking online with a digital vignette.
    Also read that France has these emissions stickers to buy. Did you need one?
    Thx
    G

    • @wsmv
      @wsmv  6 місяців тому +1

      Hi buddy, I bought them online so I didn't have to lose time at the borders. But I only bought them the night before to male sure I didn't waste time or money. The austrian vignette can be bought for a day, a week, a month or a year. I only paid for the day we rode through.
      Means no stickers and no stopping.
      There are areas in some French towns that have low emmisions but I banked on the fact most motorcycles are free in all low emmisions zones in the UK and hopefully won't get a fine through 🤣
      Thanks for watching and supporting the channel, have a great trip in September, it was the best thing for us and we already can't wait for the next one 😁👍
