Nice set, thanks for the video. Got my Surge today just after hand on the Surge, Wave and Charge. Not necessarily the best, but a real work horse gear that I need.

I have a Wave+ with the exact same combo and it fits extremely tight. Cannot even imagine how did you manage to get the Surge to expand the sheath for everything to fit.
Definitely was not fun! started with just the Surge and a bit kit, left it in for a week while slowly adding more to expand the sheath. i can actually get the surge, with both bit kits and full blade sheath in back pocket together now its just really tight pulling them out still. Think i have reached max expansion. Eventually just going to bite the bullet and pick up a Skinth Solutions.
I would consider the VIM Tools HBR3 ratchet. It's practically the same as yours, but it has the fixed 1/4" bit holder on the second end. I'm using it on daily basis and can assure you, this fixed bit holder is a great addition to the ratchet, cause it can handle much more of a force applied, then the ratchet.
That sounds pretty amazing, I could definitely see that coming in handy. I will have to check it out! I appreciate the recommendation!
I like it! but at the same time the only way I could edc this is if I put it on a canteen belt with suspenders, or if I put it on a tool belt. good video!
Haha very true. It does get heavy at times, but if you use a tool belt all day at work, this is not bad for small jobs.
Otherwise i stick to the skeletool and Squirt ES4.

@@bentsparkoutdoorsedc5250 I had a wave for years, then recently lost it, tried a surge this time, had it for a couple of weeks and still going back and forth on whether it was a good idea.
You need a better belt if you can’t carry something like this. 1/4” thick leather is what you need. Or very stiff nylon

i hope you upgraded to leatherman ratchet driver! in that tool i put the victorinox eyeglases screwdriver, it work very good.
i dont use a pencil as i own a Note20Ultra so i carry a tube extender with battery and charger for Lumintop GT Nano. Also i use only one bits kit, the left behend bits are useless. i guess half are in metric and half imperial. but im not sure, it can be a mix. the woodsaw on all leatherman and victorinox are great only for dry wood but i need to cut roses branches from time to time. so i bought Bosch progressive woodsaw. also a kukri style tshank blade to spare main blades from dirty work. i want to keep main blades food grade. also i added a metal saw.
edit: my black and silver Surge came with 5 pockets sheath.
i used it last time yesterday at work to adjust my bicycle's ergonomic grips in a better position.
The bit ratchet shown; is it wrapped with self sealing silicone tape???
Its just electrical tape as I'm always using it for work. Self sealing silicone tape is a great idea though!

Does your sheath not have a pocket in the front like it has at the back? I just got my Surge today and find it hard to fit both the bit kits in the back one but the front one fits them perfectly. I use the back on to fit the extra file that comes with the knife, the thing you had folded in half.
This sheath does not have the front pocket unfortunately, I have heard that sheath is really good. Still on the look out for the perfect setup.

Its the sheath that came with the surge, took a week or two to stretch it out to fit.
I believe it is the large nylon sheath w/ pockets on the leatherman website accessories section.
Where did you get the little ratchet for the screwdriver bits? Very cool 👍
Picked it up from Canadian tire if you are in the great north, it comes in a mini ratchet kit. Otherwise I found one on amazon that looks almost identical:
"MAXTECH 17685MX Mini Ratchet and Screwdriver Bit Set, 29-Piece"
Also have heard good things about these higher priced ones:

Yeah I picked up a box of golf pencils from the Dollar store, they work great and not expensive if they get lost.

Would be nice if you didnt just show off and actually told us where you got some of this stuff and how did you everything inside? I can only carry one of the bits kits..if I put in both it wont clothes..

Appreciate the feedback! I was planning on doing a follow-up with a more detailed review of whats going on once i get a mic.
I had the same issue with fitting both bit kits in with the surge. i actually just slowly stretched it out by adding one thing at a time and forcing it closed. once closed i just left it closed for a few days, while carrying it to work it in a bit. I can just barely fit both bit kits and the file/saw sleeve in and get it closed now however it makes it to tight to removing anything.
I also read some people use a wood block and some water to stretch the sheath out (insert wood block and then insert shims to stretch it out)

Definitely gets used and abused, saves me plenty of trips to the truck while working. Swapped to the charge+ and skinth sheath though to shed some weight and be a bit more accessible.
