    Have a Surge for about 6 years. Really good tool. Im a retired attorney so I am not in thr field beating it up, but it has served me well doing everything when I needed a tool for my guns, removing windshield wipers to replace the blades, house hold repairs, etc. Perfectly sa t isfied.

      Very good! Yes I agree, it has all the tools you would need say to day when you don’t have access to your toolbox.
      This is probably the last Leatherman I’ll ever need 🤠

    I have the first gen surge and it’s never let me down. These days I’m more in an office atmosphere and use my Leatherman Skeletool and it does everything I need it to do! 👍

    Been carrying a surge for 7 years and has never let me down. I've beat the crap out of it too and it's held up just fine. I've even used it as a hammer when i needed to hit the top of a pry bar to get a part off my friend's car. It's freaking awesome and indestructible

    Just happen to stumble on to your channel because of the Surge. I too have just recently purchased one, really love the tool set. I pocket carry mine, not a fan of sheaths. I have scrolled through your videos, and highlighted many to watch later. Right now, I'm really just a fixed blade knife person, with the Leatherman. Keeping up with folders is dizzying! When I was into the heyday of folders, it was in the 2010's and it seemed the selection was really just to a handful of US companies. I really love Emerson's (I know I can feel the virtual tomatoes being thrown), but I am not really connecting with anything they do today. I kind of feel that way about other US makers, but fixed blades...now that is another story. Thanks for sharing, keep up the updates about your gear, and I look forward to the videos in my playlist.

      @doodysdaggers  Рік тому

      Right on man, welcome to the channel! Good to have you.
      Yeah the Surge is a fantastic tool!
      Im not much of a fixed blade guy, but I do have a few I like very much. One is a Bradford Guardian 3 that I ground into a sheepsfoot. Great knife, and I love the horizontal carry sheath.
      I am interested in trying an Emerson, probably the A100 to start with

    I misspelled it,it's called iguerburm pocket clip for the surge, doesn't come with a lanyard loop though,but I'm ok with that

    • @clivedunning4317
      @clivedunning4317 Рік тому

      Do you know that the surge has a built in lanyard loop ? Very hard to spot and deploy , but it is there, you've got to push it out, it's on the same side as the saw/file and you push out from the hinge, it can be a bit of a bugger when the surge is brand new.

    The black oxide doesn’t open as easily as the stainless steel one, people recommend diamond paste to loosen it up a bit.

    I carry a Wingman with me in my pouch. It’s very useful (buddy at work was looking for some pliers becuase the skid steer key broke off in the ignition.) bam! They have a nice spring to the pliers and the blade is accessible from the outside. Perfect for when I need them

      @@doodysdaggers I take 2 with me to work everyday. It made organization so much easier and I won’t lose anything now.
      I carry a Wynex tactical emt pouch WYNEX Tactical Admin Molle Pouch, Medical EDC EMT Utility Bag Shell Design Attachment Pouches 1000D Nylon Hiking Belt Bags Waterproof a.co/d/gNxcv4V
      It is great quality with molle attachments if you want, velcro on the front if you want patches. The zippers are great and it holds a ton of shit.
      I also have a Maxpedition Fatty that holds all of my earbud containers, wires, charges and what not. I always had a problem with keeping my electronics dry and away from my lunch in the lunchbox. Problem solved!

    Nothing negative against the Surge but how can a bit ratchet attachment cost $199 while the Surge goes for $149? Instead I picked up a 1/4” Craftsman ratchet with some bits for $13 that fit in the nylon Molly case.

    • @kennywheelus6857
      @kennywheelus6857 Рік тому

      Same here,took me a day walking around with it on my belt,I found a really good robust pocket clip for it on Amazon, so if I need it quickly like if I forgot my pouch I could simply pocket carry I know it's heavy, but it'd be temporary until I got back,or carry it under my seat of my bike,I ride a motorcycle to work mostly unless it's storming,the pocket clip doesn't come with an external lanyard loop like Leatherman does when you purchase the clip,but I'm ok with it,surge has one tucked away in itself secretly, you'll see it if you haven't already found it,look at the end where the clip goes, on the end opposite handle,end of where the t-shank adapter is,you'll have to use like a small pin or nail to push it out,it's small but big enough to run paranoid or some kind of cordage throug it or how ever you want,I just thought with all these options it's pretty cool for how people prefer to chose to do for their tool depending on their situation or job.
