I daily drove a 2010 CTS-V 6 Speed for years and it was a lot of fun. Glad to see the manual is back in this day and age, and now the V is back on my radar.
Same here, went to an M5 after a manual Gen 2 Cts-v (which I had for 5 years). Although the BMW is better made I swear the V was more fun to drive

@@KCMrecordings the awd m5 competition is going to be hard to beat but I really look forward to the comparison. There's no question the V will sound a million times better
@@resto-proinc5191 it may not beat the m5 outright in numbers and capabilities, but most people hands down say that gms Alpha chassis are the better drivers cars.
@@resto-proinc5191 that's what sucks about GMs performance cars the way they drive is class leading their interior materials and build quality just aren't competitive...I don't get it.
The beauty of throttle house is their personalities, and having their chemistry in such raw display makes these videos so much fun. I love the regular stuff, Top Gear esque production values (camera work, not Clarkson travelling to 4 countries for 1 joke) and peak writing often. Good shit. Love it.

Why is the CT5 Blackwing compared to the M3 and the CT4 Blackwing to the RS3 although the CT5 Blackwing competes with the M5, E63 and RS6 and the CT4 Blackwing with the C63, RS4/5 and M3/4?

I think the new corvette allowed gm to really open the taps on cadilac products

1. The new mid engine corvette reaches new 0-60 times and zo6 will unlock new lap times. Taking it away from sport's cars territory and in the supercar territory. Now new camero and cadilac products can stretch their legs without being afraid of being faster or "cooler" than the corvette

That is the only reason I ordered one. I got the CT4 BW. The 5 IMO is too big and heavy for frequent track days. However, I was on the phone with my dealer and Corporate and hearing very few Manuals were ordered. No problem with me. Just means Low VIN hopefully
@@Paynekentp Got myself a 6MT CT5... psyched for its arrival. I think GM stated they expected 25% of orders to be 6MT. Will be interesting for sure to see the finalized numbers of the first 250.
It’s exciting but it sucks that they make all automatics faster than the Manuals. Same with the hellcats the automatics are faster than the sticks
I helped my father reserve a spot last night for the ct5v Blackwing and we’re going to the dealer within the next week to build/select option!
No one is more excited that they are offering these cars in a manual than me but they won't sell. It will be the same as it was with the V2 and Chevy SS. The people like me who cry for a manual can't afford them new, so very few manuals are built/bought, then years down the road when I can afford one manuals are rare and the value stays high. Remember when you couldn't find a Wrangler in an automatic? It's the complete opposite now. There's a reason why all those cars they listed aren't even offered with a manual, heck they don't even offer a Corvette in a manual anymore! I can't help but wonder how these new Blackwings would sell if they only offered them with a manual like they did with the V1...

Does the CT5-V come in all wheel drive? If it is AWD it prolly takes it. Even without that...close. Hellcat Redeye would win but just a Hellcat then I would think CT5-V wins
These are not made for Drag Racing. They are made for the track. If you want to see something comical watch the Hell Cat on a rad course.
@@darknightbegins85 the red eye wouldn't beat the ct5 v bw because with that slow launch it will lose, and the ct5 v bw has launch control. But in a roll race the redeye might have a chance
@@mohammedawadud7238 they don't have a true launch control. Anything the Cadillac has, the Hellcat probably has too, either way it would probably be close.

You know what you should add to the drag races? Flag goes down but you have to say the entire name of the car before you can launch.

When you do the drag races, you should introduce, when the flag goes down, having to say the cars name 5 times before you floor it. And then see what the manufacturers do about it!
Add a ducktail spoiler and wrap it purple, then go around calling it CT4/5V Darkwing

I was never a Cadillac fan due to their reliability. But did they hire some new designer? I found their newer cars now look really good.

My 2014 ATS 6 speed has 130k on it with minimal problems. I can vouch for the reliability. I had to keep it longer waiting for last night. Been waiting for the manual to come back. Just more fun to drive IMO.

The CT5-V Blackwing seems like a proper competitor for the M5 Competition and E63s. Finally a new big luxury performance sedan from the US :D
I’ve been a diehard BMW fan for years. I was very close to buying a lightly used 2019-2021 BMW M2 Comp….until I had a chance to experience the CT4-V Blackwing. I think you guys are overdue to properly review and drive the CT4-V Blackwing. It’s won so many accolades now, I’d like to hear your honest opinions of how it compares to the previous and current M2/M3 offerings. The Tremec manual and brilliant chassis in these cars provides such a fantastic connected driving experience that is missing in so many other products now. Please put this review on your to do list 😊. Anything that’s been awarded a 10/10 by Car and Driver 3-years in a row should be reviewed by you as well. You guys are awesome, cheers!

I just purchased a CT4 V a month back. At 60k, I should've waited for this. Even with 325HP/380FT Lbs, you can tell this chassis wants more. Considering this is the last, true ICE American sports sedan, I'll be upgrading to the Blackwing in a few years.
I think I might convert from European car back to American is the manual really comes back. THANK YOU CADILLAC FOR BUILDING A CAR THE REAL DRIVERS WANT

Getting this car this year no matter what
I wanted a BMW M Car for my Middle Aged car but recently I changed my mind to a CTS-V and now I really want a Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. A Tahoe RST/High Country, CT5-V Blackwing and my Camaro SS sounds like a splendid lineup of cars
I still remember when I sat in the Cadi of someone I know and thought "This is actually a damn nice car for the 90's." I asked the owner "So what year is it?" Only to find out that it was like a 2010 or something.

I have owned many caddies. Always wanted a V. Nice card. Drove a 15 ctsv. Owned a 08 sts rwd 4.6. Have a 15 ATS 3.6. So maybe another may be on my list 🇺🇸
I started giggling like a high teenage boy when disclosing the CT5VBW power figures!
So far I think this is a win on all fronts for Cadillac. Manual transmission standard is amazing, especially with the CT5 as that was really missed with the Gen3 CTS-V. The CT4-V BW is just an improved ATS-V which was already a great car minus the interior design.
And I'm James..... my day is now complete.

Gorgeous looking car in my opinion, its great to know they made a manual version should be fun to drive. Would love to see one in person. I think Cadillac did a really good job with these two 👏, everyone goes to the European cars, dont get me wrong they make great cars, but it more fun to drive their competitors, gotta be different from everyone else.
You'll need to do a detailed comparo between the CT5V Blackwing and the Giulia Quadrifoglio.
A better competitor to the Giulia would be the CT4 V Blackwing. They have similar power numbers, and are similarly sized (the CT4 is a bit larger on the outside).
CT5 V 668 hp its insane. A drag race between a CTS V and CT5 V Blackwing would be interesting too bad it does not has AWD.
I'm just waiting for the wagon variant.

I believe you're going to wait your entire without Cadillac ever making one. The only way you're going to have a wagon version is to get a shop to transform the sedan into a wagon.

A new Cadillac performance vehicle with a manual? That CT4-V could be a serious contender for a future sports car for me, I love the RS3 but I'd want my weekend car to have a manual
Oh, you're also going to like it more than the RS3.
The CT5-V Blackwing will be the ONLY new, V8, RWD, manual sedan available when it goes on sale (in the U.S. at least). It's like one final performance sedan enthusiast swan song before everything goes 100% automatic and eventually electric. That novelty alone makes it worth the purchase.
Why is the Wing on the 4 larger than the one on the 5? The 4 already looks a little awkward proportionally. They didn't really do enough to make the 5 Blackwing standout. The CTS-V was a beast and looked the part. You really can't tell a difference between a ct5-V and a CT5-V blackwing. It'll make a great sleeper I guess.
I think the wing on the 4V is taller because the trunk is shorter than the 5V and the taller wing is needed to better catch the air coming off the top. Just my opinion.
The wing on the 3rd gen CTS V didn't have a big wing either, it had a optional big duck tail, but stock it was about the same size, I think the CT5 black wing is more tame looking because of the different demographic? CT4 buyer is more boy racer? While the CT5 wants that luxury and power

The BMW M3 comes in a manual. In the video you mentioned it was automatic only. The M3 and M4 come in a manual on the non-competition models.
