I own a 2022 CT5 V Blackwing (manual) and it is by far, the best, everyday-performance car I have ever driven. Very addictive
how many first borns did you have to give up or banks robbed to afford one? For a few years now, at least in the sacramento area, they have been 29% over msrp. Almost every other car is better in this segment, and just under, with the money you save and can put it into that car to make it better than this.
Isn't this thing like 100k? I want one but that will be what I make the whole year 😂😂

I would absolutely love to daily one of these, just way too expensive at msrp, plus the crazy markups. I absolutely love a fast sedan and I think the blackwing pair really kill it overall.

This guy is new to the Cadillac V series. From the beginning Cadillac CTS V meat you had the performance package. The V is what told every one what you had.
There's been a few others added on to this V series.
But the original has always been CTS V
Cadillac was known for their ride quality and suspension back in the 90s and early 2000s? Not sure what happened here with the V series. I still luv the look of it. One powerful sedan!

Cadillac should've given the CT5-V Blackwing wing the option of buying it with the Multimatic Suspension from the ZL1 1LE.

Had T go look the steering column is electric in the CT4V BW also.
Once you accept that the Germans with AWD will leave the 5BW in their wakes in a straight line. However, know that from point A to point B, the Caddy will get you there quicker and be more engaging too. I’d had not heard about a track package, guessing Car & Drivers comments got to them about shedding it with Cup 2R tires and some suspension tweaks so it could retake the title of the quickest lap time at VIR for a 4 door sedan, at almost half the price of the Panameria Turbo S.
If the BW can stay out of the shop unlike the Germans it will be a huge success.
Great video, slightly incorrect on the v history. Well at least state side the v series has done really well in many aspects. This exact formula existed 10 years ago but at that time people wanted turbo. With the market going electric there is a nostalgic feeling in owning a v8 super car, plus the people across the pond are charging you a monthly subscription for HEATED SEATS 😂 hopefully you get one.
How much better than an M3 does this look? Please bring it to Europe…. But at US prices!!

Still like the 3rd gen CTS -V look much better,it has that Art & Science theme displayed much more prominently! The power & handling is much improved & the manual just turns up the dial to awesomeness in this latest version! Reliability is my major concern in the long run.
The third gen CTS was GORGEOUS. But the CT5 is still pretty good looking among a sea of blah cars from all the big names.
@@SuzukiKid400 That rear window kink doesn't do it for me,reminds me of Honda & Infiniti vehicles from the side! I think the CT4 Black wing actually looks better from all angles honestly. But gotta give Cadillac props for actually producing such a competitive vehicle & also the Escalade V is simply amazing!!!

I’m always rooting for Cadillac. Living in a world where they make top of the line luxury cars with mighty engines just feels right.

cadillac has been great for a while now. the CTSV3 and ATSV were the driver's choice in their classes, although many didn't accept it. All of the big car publications were pretty much unanimous in this opinion. The CT5 and CT4 BW cars are not a revolution. Same basic platform, suspensions and drivetrain. From a purely enthusiast's perspective the previous generation V cars were better than the F generation M cars which were roots of BMW making isolation chambers. The previous gen V cars also rode better with their MRC dampers than the likes from AMG and M. It wasn't even close. These new BW cars are not much different. Its nothing new(thankfully). A small step.

I love both of the new blackwings V’s. I can only imagine what the new ones perform like because I still get a lot of compliments in my Cadillac ATS V. GM I feel like is the only American auto maker that has made a new design for all there performance cars from Chevy to Cadillac! Good job GM.

@@e46m54nissansr20937 it’s really not! I think because people think it has to be a V8 to be a good performance car or in-line 6 by bmw. But that’s there loss because I have one and know what can do and how it’s fast. Not to mention the price is a better deal than the bmw M3 for what you getting

I have a loaded 2019 CTSV with white tricoat and carbon fiber package. It was my dream car coming from a C7 Z06. Unfortunately my soon to be ex is taking it. Its too much of a loss... so Ill be picking up a new CT5V Blackwing to drown my sorrows. Excellent review

Great looking car, but I need AWD. It’s just that simple!! This manual “desire” is a low volume effort amongst the masses to he honest I’m not driving a stick in Chicago rush hour traffic.
I get your need and respect that but it’s not a low volume effort, the take rate for the 6 speed was over 50% at launch. True enthusiasts are showing with their wallets how much they appreciate the last manual supercharged sedan being available.

Love the front… but that side view I think was a fail. Can’t do 80 grand on a car that when I pull up next to it at a light it takes me a few secs to tell if it’s a souped up civic or maxima.
The Cadillac is among the most recognized cars on the road. You can see them coming or going from a mile away. Day or night. Not sure where you get that. But you did say side view so maybe the tear drop.
GM spent 20 years chasing the Germans at their own game. 20 years later when they finally do and they pull the plug as a one off swan song. Shame.

Only in comparison is what I gather, the ATS-V was underappreciated - the CTS-V continued the pedigree of the early V's. From then to now, the new Blackwing is truly a notch above.
That’s a awesome vehicle no doubt. Unfortunately it’s a GM product with zero reliability. Sadly It’s a polished turd.
My first Cadillac was a CTSV1, it was a cool car had a stage 4 BTR cam, it sounded obnoxiously great but it had its flaws with the trans and common diff issues. I recently bought a ctsv2 sedan manual and the V2 is a huge improvement over the V1. I’m very curious with the newer Cadillac. The interior/exterior are a big improvement over the V2. the ATSV, looks like they are more lighter and nimble than the V2. The CT5 black wing looks bigger and weighs more but the engine is much more powerful. I like the idea of a big sedan with a powerful motor under the hood. Definitely a sleeper.
2016-19 CTS-V definitely the best.

Cadillac nailed a home run with the CT6 Platinum and better than the BMW 7 and Mercedes-benz S Class because the CT6 can drive itself. Also the CT6 Blackwing is in a class by itself!
Wish they would of never killed the CT6 platform. That 550hp and 600+tq has potential for a 4000+ vehicle running mid 12's in the quarter mile stock out the box for a executive sedan that is impressive. Light after market support and those things would really be close to the CT5 black wing easy. Only scary thing about getting a CT6 at thing point is parts/repairs in the next 7 years plus.

Love it everytime I see a new video on these. Mine should be here in 2 to 3 weeks. After delays for missing parts (likely a microchip of some kind) and delayed shipping after it was built and having to drop the cf1 option due to availability constraints. Ordered it just over a year ago.

I have a CT5 Sport 2021, then my dad passed and he left me his V2017 and I still want a blackwing! Lol but my sport is just too loaded got for a crazy low price, I could not pass it up, and was what I could afford at the time… but don’t regret it! And my dad V how my neighbors love the wake up call! Lol

I had 2017 m4 competition then traded it for a 2022 is350 loved the looks and comfort but couldn’t get use to the lack of power so I now have Ct4v blackwing in rift metallic/white wasnt my first choice but it was a manual 6 speed for msrp no mark up . I love driving just super hard to find aftermarket wheels at the moment

Only a actual old man thinks of any Cadillac made after 2003 when they implemented the arts and science theme to Cadillac(🫵🏽Sam aka Cramer😳😂)…….that first v set the table and no Cadillacs since have drove like Cadillac in the 90’s and before and have all been sporty! 🤷🏽♂️

I'm from Quebec, got a CT4 as a daily. U get all the sport features sound power brake and steering feel + suspension in comfort mode, why would i need another car? Cept in winter of course so my BW stays shinny!

Smaller car, more of a competitor to the CT4-V Blackwing. The CT5 Blackwing can beat a BMW M5 CS around a track, even with a manual and RWD. This car is something special.
