i think its handy to share with newer players that you can cast frost bolt before the brainfreeze flury and given enough distance its an auto crit as well
step4/5/6 on prio list, is it not better to say: IF BF = 1 && FoF = 0 && Ebon = 1 THEN Cast (Ebonbolt>Flurry>Lance) IF BF = 1 && FoF = 0 && Ebon = 0 THEN Cast (Frostbolt>Flurry>Lance) The way you have it there people would cast flurry be4 winding up either a Ebonbolt or Frostbolt and it wouldn't benefit from winter's chill.
I made this macro for the opener! It helped me a lot. Macro --> /castsequence Ebonbolt, Icy Veins, Flurry, Ice Lance, Frostbolt, Frostbolt, Ice Lance, Frozen Orb

I've been playing an affliction lock since the beginning and always found it easy to understand, even when we had access to every dot (inc immolate) and recently i dinged my mage to 110. 14 hours in and hes 880ish ilvl. i gotta tell ya, frost mages in 7.2 seem way more complicated than aff locks ever were haha. so much stuff to keep track of. I can do ok numbers, 500k+ without lust, 700k+ with lust so i must be doing something right. Thanks for the guide fellow aussie. ill play around with the opener and see what numbers i can do. ATM i open with icyviens mirror image ebonbolt into flurry then frozen orb and then its hit stuff thats not on cd. Cheers mate

if you do not have an existing proc of FoF you finishing ur current cast of Frostbolt and then as soon as that cast is finished you cast Flurry into ice lance. The last frost bolt you cast can also then proc flurry, is so, re cast frostbolt and repeat. So long as you are fast this should not be an issue @ any range
you're not keeping ice lance up, you're not using thermal void (or w/e it is called) to it's potential (you having 1.9s frostbolt cast time means you're rotation is wrong) you need to be casting ice lance more often (double lancing) even when it isn't on proc to keep icy veins always up (it should never be off) meaning in the fight you will ALWAYS have 30% increase casting speed. Personally like someone else mention although your dps is average you are 110% not playing the class nor doing the rotation to it's full potential. at 3:10 your Icy Veins came off which is incredibly bad considering this fight is perfect with the adds for keeping it up/double lancing
For a start, you can only extend IV with TV while FoF or WC is active. So if neither is active, then you are just spamming ice lance and not increasing the duration of IV. Also, quick reminder, IL can not proc FoF or BF So you are dead wrong there. Second, in the clip you mentioned I don't take the liberty of using double Ice lance for a few reasons, mainly because of the strat we use. As you can see we keep brands up during the entire fight, using shimmer to get a second IL from WC is just risking the entire raid for a marginal increase in DPS. Doing 110% SimC is not on my radar for progression, or pretty much any period in time. I am not willing to risk a blink to get a tiny bit more damage. Lack of damage is never our guild's reason for wiping, so looking for extra damange where it isn't needed is just taking risks for personal gratification. Last, I don't think it is possible or reasonable for IV to be up 100% of the time CONSISTENTLY, in fact, i know it isn't. The RNG simply isn't there. I appreciate you watching the video and your comment, however, you seem to be nit picking some random footage that I just threw in rather than the guide, which I believe to be a solid foundation for anyone looking to learn the fundamentals.
As I said these are a GENERAL RULE those stat weights are from the T_19M profile for mages in the SimC client. Mine are from a few different sets of gear I had with the new APL from SimC and then the averages. Like I said, each person will have different stat weights. If you changed even a single piece of gear from the basic T_19M profile on SimC then the weights would change.
The most important mechanic? You don't think knowing how FoF, WC, or IV works is MORE important than something that is pretty much a bug. Either way, this is a basic guide for people looking to learn the basics. Not for people looking to do 105% simC. Besides I don't even do it myself, I don't think it is worth using my only reliable utility spell (shimmer) for an extra ice lance every 20s. this video was made in 7.2 bit everything is the same, such as talent choices, gems, rotation and enchants. the only change is to TV itself qhich now has a 10s longer base duration and only gets 1 bomus second per ice lance instead of 2
this is correct, with the change to TV gloves are not BiS, Bracers Ring or Bracers helm are. The deciding factor is if you can get 2 time warps out of the ring. If not, Helm is better.
