Hey Kelade, I'm not sure if you still read the comment section, but I'd like to thank you for your video guides. A friend of mine referred me to your channel and I'm glad he did. I've been playing warrior ever since tbc, and am truly in love with the class. I'm a casual player that usually nibbles a bit of normal raiding and the occasional hc boss. Lately, I've been trying to step it up a notch and finally got through hc NH. Yet I seem to be hitting an invisible dps wall, which frustrates me beyond belief. (Even more so because I love the class so much and don't want to swap) I tried to pinpoint the problem and learned the basics of logging, simcraft/pawn, rotations and talents by watching your guides. Unfortunately I'm still nowhere close to the numbers simcraft puts out. (Live ~650k, Simcraft ~830k). I believe I follow the given rotation as close as I can (with the exception of heroic leap in simcraft), but tend to notice a steady decline after my strong initial burst. Furthermore I somehow experience a major drop in dps (ranks) during the execute phase. I think it has something to doe with weaving in my Dmg buffs as some things aren't entirely clear to me: how do I decide whether I pop my BC on cooldown or wait for avatar/DoS to line up with it (eg BC off cd, 10sec cd on DOS)? Do you ever pop avatar/DoS withouten BC being up? When a boss is between 20-25% hp, is it wise to wait with BC until he drops in execute range or should I pop it nonetheless? What is the best online forum I should read/apply to to learn more about this?Sorry for this wall of text. Any advice to improve my dmg output by you or any of any fellow warriors out there would be much appreciated.
Hey, welcome to the channel! Never pop DoS without BC (unless you the boss will die before your next BC will be ready). No need to sit on BC unless your'e saving it for a mechanic. On a ST fight with no mechanics, it's best to pop BC on CD (unless DoS or OF is about to be off CD very soon, the general and unofficial stance on this is 10 seconds). Best online forum is probably the fury warrior discord. I do hang out there too.
Finally someone who plays fury and knows how the class works...^^ Seen so many people posting guides that are just misleading or even false. Good job :)
Great video! Just reading the comments you made your point very clear! But I would definitely clarify it's a priority system lol, looks like ppl are getting confused. So they might be losing dps for taking it in literal terms haha. Again great video to reference back to!

Damn I was hoping I could catch something new here to absolutely min-max my damage in raids but I've pretty been doing everything right according to this guide :D Well but I always did my opener wrong in mythic +. I did charge -> cooldowns -> bloodthirst -> odyns fury, etc. your version of charge, whirlwind , cooldowns, rampage, odyns fury makes much more sense. thanks for that.

I don't know if the troll racial is on the GCD. If not why wouldn't you then incorporate BT in the macro? Doing so would ensure that you get enraged as soon as you pop the macro. You can then go RB > OF > rampage > RB > BT
Ah. Thanks. I'm not sure it'll work but one could perhaps write rampage into the macro instead... Will have to test that as I'm a lazy fuck and can't be arsed pressing rampage if I can just macro it :P
Is it worth waiting on CDs at first, and going charge -> build rage to 85 -> rampage. Then CDs before the big rampage hit, into raging blow, warswords, rampage, raging blow, bloodthirst? This gives an additional rampage. You'll also end the battle cry window around 65 rage
You want to use your CDs ASAP so they can start going on cooldown immediately. Also you want to buff your potion of old war which you're going to prepot.
Could you be a bit more clear on the single target rotation? You have it segmented into the opening rotation and single target non-cool down rotation, but how does it all fit together to keep enrage up all the time? Could you post the exact abilities you use all the way through all together? On pull you have this: Charge -> CD macro -> Rampage -> RB -> Odyn -> BT -> RB Single target you have: RB -> Rampage -> BT -> RB -> FS But how does it fit together? What about when Odyn, battle cry, & Avatar come off CD? What would a FULL rotation look like before the execute phase? Thanks.
that's literally all there is to fury dps (other than execute that comes up after that in the video). when I saw opener/burst, i mean both the opener and when you have your burst (which is just when you have BC up). You want to think of our dps as a priority like i have in the video as opposed to a rotation.
i'm sticking to my own talents, it doesnt matter much, just with which abilities you're comfortable to play with, for example Double Time is useless for me, i went for Shockwave. Only thing i dont know is, what is Odins Fury?
Thanks for the reply, yeah, I figured that out not long after posting this. You get the enrage buff and THEN you Odyn's Fury to buff it. One other contention I have after dummy testing is, ALWAYS use FS instead of WW on single target and it will guarantee you around an 80% uptime on enraged, especially if you have the relics that buff FS (like I am doing and failing, yes I know, but I have 2 and my FS damage bonus is 35%... better deeps per use than WW and buffing my crit chance for BT) I also have the cloak legendary, and that's it for damage (neck for bubble). I have a guild NH tomorrow and I'll report back what my dps increase is for ST/MT. Thanks for the reply though!

I have the legendary Helm and Cloak. Is it worth giving up the Cloak for the 4 piece tier set? I have a set of legendary boots to swap out so I can use the tier cloak. But it looks like it's a 5k dps loss with the 4 piece and swapping the legendary cloak for tier. And my boots for the legendary ones. Or does simucraft not take advantage of the 4 piece? us.battle.net/wow/en/character/garrosh/Shikaze/simple - with my boots swaped and a 860 tier cloak. I have a set of 885 boots in lieu of the legendary boots.
NO NO NO Helm + cloak is your 2 bis legionaries, work 4 piece around that not the other way around. remember even a 4 piece of normal gear is more DPS gain than non 4 set so dont be afraid to techically "downgrade" a piece of gear for the 4 set bonus.

Few quick fury questions 1. Should I really be doing BT even if enraged when only it and FS are up? It seems like this happens all the time. 2. I cap rage and Massacre procs. Do I use both Rampages back to back? 3. For Execute phase say I get a lucky string of Massacre procs. Do I alternate the 2 attacks or space out the Rampages for more executes?
Follow the priority, if the highest on the list is BT, you hit that. There's nothing complicated about our priority. Don't think about wasting "enrage", that's not a thing. 2. not if you can hit enraged execute. follow the priority from the 7.1 guide if you really want to play massacre for execute phase, but i heavily advise you play frothing berserker.
what do you mean enraged raging blow dude?for warrior to be enraged he has to do bloodthirst or rampage.explain it better please.cause if i am enraged by rampage how can i use rampage again?
I think you might have messed up in your rotation it's more optimal if you cast BT after you rampage to generate more rage rather than using rb right after your rampage (not talking about when using cds) correct? That's what icy veins says lol

My opener is : (macro) avatar-blood fury - battle cry and then Odyn's fury then rampage >raging > blood etc, does it make any difference if i have OF in opener or not? i still get 2 raging blows
Every rampage that you do also enrages you. It's actually better since rampage enrages you first and then does the dmg, so it doesn't even matter if you get your rampage parried.
Okay cool i need to figure out how to get my Fury Artifact weapon up to where my arms one is lol i 100% invested all power into arms while leveling lol
Great guide, one question though. Wouldn't Fishbrul Special pull ahead in every scenario ESPECIALLY because of the secondary stat nerf? Unless you're about to reach a breakpoint, stat food would be even worse than Fishbrul than it was before.

So for 2-3 targets, if I follow the rotation you gave me, I would sometimes use Rampage or Bloodthirst without Meat Cleaver buff applied... Is that still better than using a gcd to reapply Meat Cleaver?
I'm far from experienced with fury, but decided to give it a try thanks to this video. A question: checking logs I see my enrage uptime is far behind what it is supposed to be. I'm trying to follow this priority rotation, but yet to build the muscle memory for it. What should be the ideal enrage uptime percentage for an encounter, and any tips I should follow to increase it? Thanks in advance Kelade.
I haven't bothered looking at enrage uptime, and it really differs based on the fight. The best way to increase enrage is to gear correctly (sim your gear to see what the best combination you have) and also to play correctly (just keep practicing the priority list).
What addon do you use that shows you the damage from each spell on the screen. Like when you hit raging blow it shows you the damage and then the tooltip next t it, same for bloodthirst, furious slash etc...

It's Primal Gladiator's Decapitator from WoD, can get it from the pvp vendors in warspear. The enchant is the wintergrasp enchant from the christmas event.
I personally use this opener: Rampage raging Blow bloodthirst odyn's fury raging Blow and bloothirst at the end to keep up enrage for autohits and following abilities. Do you think that opener is viable too? Great Video, so glad to see a fury channel! :) Greetings Paul

oh yeah i just figured out that that KJ wasnt included in GC so ill just use it with my raging blow to dealt tons of damage,it doesnt give much mastery/haste but my previous legendary was a tank legendary and i got a 910 titanforge on that slot so i just equiped KJ to increase my ilvl, btw do i use potion of prolonged power or potion of old war before encounters?
so in 7.2 stat weights is 30% haste cap or 45-50% then mastery ? cuz im confused a bit. I have %30 haste with haste food. Should I go for haste enchants and gems till i get reach 45-50% haste or should i go for mastery? currently i have 30% haste, 24% crit, 38% mastery, 3% vers. Cheers

Yep! Check out my essential addons video and download weakauras. You definitely want to use that to help you track your enrage buff (and all of our other buffs too).
I just found your YT, Great videos and very helpful. Fury has been my main character since WotLK and I left WoW in Cata and returned in WoD. Back in ICC I was top of the damage meters and in a very hardcore raiding guild. But in WoD and now in legion I just cant come close. Is there any way you could do a video on addons and setting them up. Ones for warriors of course lol. Keep up the good work on fury!
I don't doubt frothing berserker is good, but most of the top damage dealing Warriors on WoWLogs for Nighthold are still massacre. They have the BiS trinkets you mentioned. Thank you for the guide. New sub.
I actually was referring to warcraftlogs. In comparing other warriors to my level I was seeing all Massacre. Anyway, after changing a few pieces including to the Ring of Collapsing Futures I am doing better with frothing. So thanks. Hi, i'm consistently doing higher numbers without using execute at all, as I find I dont have the time to build up juggernaut stacks to make it do more damage than RB with FB buff. Is this an error im making during execute phase or is this standard now? Cheers
I don't think so honestly. Juggernaul is a shit trait that is often not even useful in NH, and execute often barely even hits harder than RB by default. It's just not that good.
Execute phase will be lackluster if you don't get to use a BC during that window, but your dps would be low anyways. Do continue doing the execute rotation during execute, your sustained dps would still be higher.
Hey Kelade I'm having some problems with the draught + convergence rotation can you help? What i'm doing now is Avatar+BC > ramp > draught > bt > rg and saving OF for the second BC window. BC is gonna come up again a third time but OF/Avatar/Draught are all on CDs do I go ahead and pop BC or do i wait for OF or Avatar/draught to come off cd and then use it together? I feel like i loose alot of dps during the 3rd BC without draught or OF. Thanks in advance!
Don't use rampage in execute phase. To enrage in execute phase while you have BC buff, always use BT to enrage. So it looks something like: pop CDs+ BT, exe, exe, exe, BT, exe... If you're somehow already enraged going into the BC window, you can just start with CDs+Execute and just keep using execute until you need to hit BT to enrage.
With the opening burst window, is it not wise to include /cast bt to auto put us enraged at the start, or is the opening you have listed here the best way? I feel like I'm missing something here.
Shame i have exact same rotation, exact same talents, titans power on 6th level, and 24% haste, still ending on last dps places on raids... i think raiding is notfor me :(
You have to be pretty aware of when to bust out big dick cooldowns and stuff in raids if you're looking to purely inflate numbers. For example, on Spellblade Aluriel you wanna time your battle cry, avatar, and odyn's fury combo for whenever the adds spawn. On Gul'dan you wanna wait until the three mini bosses are up before doing the same thing. And if you really really REALLY cared about your numbers you could just aoe adds for the whole Tichondrius fight.
Which still places me slightly above tanks on bosses (for exapmple when i tried NH normal, still hevent done that, because i dont want to be usless, as i am right now TT_TT)
I am using same rotation, same flasks, potions, runes, same talents, only diffrence is 5% lowwerd haste than him, and 6th passive lvl (but those 5% i dont belive will take me to the top dmg)
massacre is better if you have the execute ring, but due to the fights that are available in nighthold, for a lot of bosses, you would still go frothing berserker.
Hey Kelade, I'm having some issues with DPS. And would like your input. If you could take a look at my armory. I'm also on warcraft logs. Name: Hwaryuun Server: Illidan My Sim'd DPS is about 740k with lfr draught and a heroic convergence of fates. I'm running optimal talents for each boss in NH as you suggest in your video. Some fights I perform really well, and others not so great. For example, Although i was unflasked and no rune, i hit 641K on star auger, used a prologed power pre-pot and a old war on lust. My rotation for the most part during the BC and Avatar window is: 100 rage Rampage > Draught > OF > RB During the BC window without OF and no Avatar/Draught is: 100 rage Rampage > RB > BT > FS > RB > BT During the BC window with OF is: 100 rage Rampage > RB > OF > BT > FS > RB My normal priority rotation is: 100 Rage Rampage > RB > BT > FS I'm always using RB over BT until I can get a 100 Rage Rampage. And i will use FS whenever RB and BT are on cd. I"m just at that place where I feel like I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

As a 890 arms warr I STRUGGLE to get 40% parses in my logs and average is like 15%. I can't for the life of me get the FR rotation down. You guys think I should try fury? How easy is the rotation in comparison to arms?
smd09876 Very easy and rewarding. It's more a mater of situational priority rather than a fixed rotation therefore your abilities will just flow perfectly one after another.
Fury is more consistent in how you're dealing dmg. You're not as reliant on procs for dmg. (though there is always of course RNG, but it's not as bad as arms).

troll racial is not on gcd, you don't use BT because you need to use rampage first to dump that rage. Rampage only does like 1% less dmg than RB.

My opening macro is BC/Odyn's/Avatar.... why not include Odyn's Fury in the macro since it is off GCD?
Because your enrage will affect its damage- so rampage first. Or you may as well not have mastery (affects how much your enrage increases your damage)

stmichelob if you're running wrecking ball and get a Proc WW does more damage than FS. Fury rotation is somewhat reactive depending on your talents.

I have the legendary Helm and Cloak. Is it worth giving up the Cloak for the 4 piece tier set? I have a set of legendary boots to swap out so I can use the tier cloak. But it looks like it's a 5k dps loss with the 4 piece and swapping the legendary cloak for tier. And my boots for the legendary ones. Or does simucraft not take advantage of the 4 piece?

NO NO NO Helm + cloak is your 2 bis legionaries, work 4 piece around that not the other way around. remember even a 4 piece of normal gear is more DPS gain than non 4 set so dont be afraid to techically "downgrade" a piece of gear for the 4 set bonus.

You loose 1 raging blow. If you Opener->Rampage->Rb->OF->1blood->Rb you have 1 extra Rb with all the buffs

Few quick fury questions
1. Should I really be doing BT even if enraged when only it and FS are up? It seems like this happens all the time.
2. I cap rage and Massacre procs. Do I use both Rampages back to back?
3. For Execute phase say I get a lucky string of Massacre procs. Do I alternate the 2 attacks or space out the Rampages for more executes?
Follow the priority, if the highest on the list is BT, you hit that. There's nothing complicated about our priority. Don't think about wasting "enrage", that's not a thing.
2. not if you can hit enraged execute. follow the priority from the 7.1 guide if you really want to play massacre for execute phase, but i heavily advise you play frothing berserker.
Thanks. I prefere frothing on shorter fights like Chrono Anomoly and Massacre for fights where execute phase lasts longer.

I think you might have messed up in your rotation it's more optimal if you cast BT after you rampage to generate more rage rather than using rb right after your rampage (not talking about when using cds) correct? That's what icy veins says lol

You can sim relics and you definitely should. Once you use a relic, there are no take backs.

My opener is : (macro) avatar-blood fury - battle cry and then Odyn's fury then rampage >raging > blood etc, does it make any difference if i have OF in opener or not? i still get 2 raging blows
you need to hit a rampage first so you are enraged. you're losing around 40% dmg on odyns fury using your combo.

Every rampage that you do also enrages you. It's actually better since rampage enrages you first and then does the dmg, so it doesn't even matter if you get your rampage parried.

Great guide, one question though. Wouldn't Fishbrul Special pull ahead in every scenario ESPECIALLY because of the secondary stat nerf? Unless you're about to reach a breakpoint, stat food would be even worse than Fishbrul than it was before.
yeah, you'd think that would be the case, but now every point matters, so it's important to get your 2ndaries stats as high as possible.

Nah you're good, i forgot to include those. Battle Cry relics are best, RB relics are 2nd for ST, Enrage relics are 2nd for aoe.

So for 2-3 targets, if I follow the rotation you gave me, I would sometimes use Rampage or Bloodthirst without Meat Cleaver buff applied... Is that still better than using a gcd to reapply Meat Cleaver?

I'm far from experienced with fury, but decided to give it a try thanks to this video. A question: checking logs I see my enrage uptime is far behind what it is supposed to be. I'm trying to follow this priority rotation, but yet to build the muscle memory for it. What should be the ideal enrage uptime percentage for an encounter, and any tips I should follow to increase it? Thanks in advance Kelade.
I haven't bothered looking at enrage uptime, and it really differs based on the fight. The best way to increase enrage is to gear correctly (sim your gear to see what the best combination you have) and also to play correctly (just keep practicing the priority list).
What addon do you use that shows you the damage from each spell on the screen. Like when you hit raging blow it shows you the damage and then the tooltip next t it, same for bloodthirst, furious slash etc...

It's Primal Gladiator's Decapitator from WoD, can get it from the pvp vendors in warspear. The enchant is the wintergrasp enchant from the christmas event.
I personally use this opener: Rampage raging Blow bloodthirst odyn's fury raging Blow and bloothirst at the end to keep up enrage for autohits and following abilities. Do you think that opener is viable too? Great Video, so glad to see a fury channel! :)

Don't worry about trying to get a BT at the end there. Your rage will be so high that you'll reach 100 rage in no time and can rampage anyways.

If you have a convergence too, just use draught and convergence. Draught is better than KJ btw.
oh yeah i just figured out that that KJ wasnt included in GC so ill just use it with my raging blow to dealt tons of damage,it doesnt give much mastery/haste but my previous legendary was a tank legendary and i got a 910 titanforge on that slot so i just equiped KJ to increase my ilvl, btw do i use potion of prolonged power or potion of old war before encounters?

so in 7.2 stat weights is 30% haste cap or 45-50% then mastery ? cuz im confused a bit. I have %30 haste with haste food. Should I go for haste enchants and gems till i get reach 45-50% haste or should i go for mastery?

I just found your YT, Great videos and very helpful. Fury has been my main character since WotLK and I left WoW in Cata and returned in WoD. Back in ICC I was top of the damage meters and in a very hardcore raiding guild. But in WoD and now in legion I just cant come close. Is there any way you could do a video on addons and setting them up. Ones for warriors of course lol. Keep up the good work on fury!

I don't doubt frothing berserker is good, but most of the top damage dealing Warriors on WoWLogs for Nighthold are still massacre. They have the BiS trinkets you mentioned. Thank you for the guide. New sub.
Make sure you're using warcraftlogs, everyone uses that site now. On every single boss in Nighthold, the top 10 are all using frothing berserker.
I actually was referring to warcraftlogs. In comparing other warriors to my level I was seeing all Massacre. Anyway, after changing a few pieces including to the Ring of Collapsing Futures I am doing better with frothing. So thanks. no, it's very likely you won't get one high enough ilvl, it's not as worth it as he makes it out to be on the guide
don't look at people in your ilvl, just look at the top warriors, we're all using forthing berserker

Hi, i'm consistently doing higher numbers without using execute at all, as I find I dont have the time to build up juggernaut stacks to make it do more damage than RB with FB buff. Is this an error im making during execute phase or is this standard now? Cheers
I don't think so honestly. Juggernaul is a shit trait that is often not even useful in NH, and execute often barely even hits harder than RB by default. It's just not that good.
Execute phase will be lackluster if you don't get to use a BC during that window, but your dps would be low anyways. Do continue doing the execute rotation during execute, your sustained dps would still be higher.

Hey Kelade I'm having some problems with the draught + convergence rotation can you help? What i'm doing now is Avatar+BC > ramp > draught > bt > rg and saving OF for the second BC window. BC is gonna come up again a third time but OF/Avatar/Draught are all on CDs do I go ahead and pop BC or do i wait for OF or Avatar/draught to come off cd and then use it together? I feel like i loose alot of dps during the 3rd BC without draught or OF. Thanks in advance!

Don't use rampage in execute phase. To enrage in execute phase while you have BC buff, always use BT to enrage. So it looks something like: pop CDs+ BT, exe, exe, exe, BT, exe... If you're somehow already enraged going into the BC window, you can just start with CDs+Execute and just keep using execute until you need to hit BT to enrage.

With the opening burst window, is it not wise to include /cast bt to auto put us enraged at the start, or is the opening you have listed here the best way? I feel like I'm missing something here.
Best way since when you hit BC, you have 100 rage, you want to spend that so you can build up rage with all the other skills that you're pressing.

Shame i have exact same rotation, exact same talents, titans power on 6th level, and 24% haste, still ending on last dps places on raids... i think raiding is notfor me :(
You have to be pretty aware of when to bust out big dick cooldowns and stuff in raids if you're looking to purely inflate numbers. For example, on Spellblade Aluriel you wanna time your battle cry, avatar, and odyn's fury combo for whenever the adds spawn. On Gul'dan you wanna wait until the three mini bosses are up before doing the same thing. And if you really really REALLY cared about your numbers you could just aoe adds for the whole Tichondrius fight.
Which still places me slightly above tanks on bosses (for exapmple when i tried NH normal, still hevent done that, because i dont want to be usless, as i am right now TT_TT)

I am using same rotation, same flasks, potions, runes, same talents, only diffrence is 5% lowwerd haste than him, and 6th passive lvl (but those 5% i dont belive will take me to the top dmg)
im at 28 % hast 14 % crit 44 % masteries and im doing 400/450k on boss fight depending on my crits (882ilvl with helm and brassers legs)

massacre is better if you have the execute ring, but due to the fights that are available in nighthold, for a lot of bosses, you would still go frothing berserker.

My Sim'd DPS is about 740k with lfr draught and a heroic convergence of fates. I'm running optimal talents for each boss in NH as you suggest in your video.
Some fights I perform really well, and others not so great.
For example, Although i was unflasked and no rune, i hit 641K on star auger, used a prologed power pre-pot and a old war on lust.
My rotation for the most part during the BC and Avatar window is: 100 rage Rampage > Draught > OF > RB
During the BC window without OF and no Avatar/Draught is: 100 rage Rampage > RB > BT > FS > RB > BT
During the BC window with OF is: 100 rage Rampage > RB > OF > BT > FS > RB
My normal priority rotation is: 100 Rage Rampage > RB > BT > FS
I'm always using RB over BT until I can get a 100 Rage Rampage. And i will use FS whenever RB and BT are on cd.
I"m just at that place where I feel like I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

As a 890 arms warr I STRUGGLE to get 40% parses in my logs and average is like 15%. I can't for the life of me get the FR rotation down. You guys think I should try fury? How easy is the rotation in comparison to arms?
smd09876 Very easy and rewarding. It's more a mater of situational priority rather than a fixed rotation therefore your abilities will just flow perfectly one after another.
Fury is more consistent in how you're dealing dmg. You're not as reliant on procs for dmg. (though there is always of course RNG, but it's not as bad as arms).
