This is by far the best patch this game has received. One "simple" change to the economy, and the game feels so much more dynamic. I said it last night, and I will say it again. Once there are better abilities and a bit more excitement in battles, this back and forth tug of war will be an absolute delight to play and watch.
Especially when there is new audio. The lack of quality audio currently is making these fights seem a lot less exciting than they actually are. Looking forward to SG Sundays #10 this weekend! Thanks as always.

Yup! They're adding new stuff every patch - Alex Brandon talked about the struggle to make sounds "good" while also being easily discernable in the battlefield. It's a constant struggle

@@BeoMulf Yea, definitely. It seems like they pushed back a ton of audio updates. Originally they said 0.2.0 at the end of October would be getting them. Still haven't had any changes of significance to the audio. Lets hope 0.3.0!

Great showcase! I hope also for a celestial bo5 to showcase the new patch.

That'll be coming out soon - but Celestials are currently extremely overtuned. Their economy scales about twice as fast, so the real showcase will be on saturday after the hotfix!

The changes have been good. Really like the faster economy that isn't reliant so much on creeps (but all the more begs the question of why the creeps are there?)
Exos are still insanely powerful for when they come out. Their damage and speed relative to other unit damage seems very high. Infernal units still hit like wet paper and go down like a lead weight. Brutes are so unsatisfying to use as they walk up and immediately evaporate and then the fiends disappear before attacking. Infest damage just gets waved away by infinite energy medtechs and BOBs that can repair so much of the Vanguard roster. Infernal is supposed to be swarmy but it doesn't feel swarmy, it feels weak and just heavily reliant on Weavers and Hexens to carry the faction.
I dunno... the game is going in a good direction. But I think just like the team needed new art direction, I think it needs new unit design/balance direction. I know they are heading towards a "version 2.0" for each faction but without a preview of that I look at matches like these and go "yeah I don't want to deal with that." The Infernal units don't feel fun to use.

That's fair - right now they're reliant on infest DOT and fiends that evaporate in any major fight (so while they keep appearing, there isn't that swarming feeling). I know that they're moving away from infest as a core mechanic, which should allow for infernal units to be more active. With respect to brutes, their design idea is to tank (and maybe do some damage) before giving away to the fiend, which is technically interesting. Just hard to make them work against the infinite exo kite lol
