Hi there really nice guide but I have to point out that you CAN´T shatter your frostbolt with your FOF proc, and that is because ice land dont get your target the freeze debuff, the only way that you can freeze your target is with flurry. That´s why u cast an ice lance right before the instant flurry, I think this could change your rotation a little bit, congrats on the vids tho!.
some problems in this video: you actually can do the double ice lance , you just have to shimmer before it. if you see 2+ FoF proc, you should spam it because if you have a BF proc you dont want to have a FOF proc at the same time, cuz its already a proc loss. For trinkets actualyy the haste one from harjatan is epic bis, you just have to use shimmer if you have to move. Single target rotation , i prefer using howling blast 24/7 because of the cdr of the orb. and you can use 2 instant blizzards within one orb. you have to precast frostbolt into a flurry, then an ice lance for maximum dps, and if you have enough haste(so your whispers in the dark procced, or bl used, or harjatan trinket is on max stack) , then you should use shimmer to the target and one more ice lance.
Hi @ExtremeCrew, I know you can double IL with shimmer. But people like to keep shimmer for boss mechanics. The pro's whom use shimmer to double IL don't watch my guides :D.Regarding the 2 instant blizzards, I can still cast 2 of them without howling blast. I know that casting BF proc with FoF proc is bad, but sometimes it happens when you're playing too fast :)
Hello, there are a few things you can be doing to improve. (My character:Aureilius-Darkspear) one thing is that you want to dump your ice lance procs quicker. You don't need to lead up every icelance with a frost bolt. Also with the 4 set I find it works open with frozen orb. This way your ebonbolt will get 20% more damage and the flurry proc will -5 seconds off frozen orb. Feel free to look my up on Warcraft logs, I usually parse in the high 80s-90s in heroic

Its true you are losing one FOF proc to extend Icy Veins but with the nerf to thermal void it really isn't going to change much. That really isn't the important part of my comment though, there is actually a good amount of variation which opener the top players are opening. The most important thing is to dump ice lance procs quicker, especially if you have 3 stacks from your frost bolt crits.
Decent Guide, just some major flaws in pretty much each section. 1. You Value Crit way lower that it really is, in many cases it is better than haste. 2. You can go down to 31.5%ish if that allows you to gain more Haste/Versatility as these are your major dps increasing stats, for me for example haste and versa even higher than intellect, and I am already at 10% versatility. 3. In your rotation Video you wasted a lot of potential Procs, FoF aswell as BF. You casted 3+ Frostbolts while you had an BF proc. You should dump your FoF Procs asap so you can freely use your BF proc without wasting your FoF proc, as you get a free FoF after each BF which you can cast without having to get an FoF proc. 4. You pretty much Shimmerlance in your opener if you can, as it leaves you with one spare blink which gives you enough mobility to be safe on most encounters, so your optimal opener would be yours + Shimmer + Ice Lance in right after. 5. The legendary Gloves are very bad currently as you only get around 5 to maybe 6 if youre lucky which isnt even close compared to the gain of the Bracers which net you flat 15% dmg increase on your Ice Lances which is by far a bigger benefit than the legendary gloves. 6. Same for the Legendary Trinket, the crit you gain from the Terror from Below give you a ton of extra secondaries you can invest into versa/haste which are atleast similar with the int gain you get from the legendary trinket, and the on use effect is pretty much ignorable, as it will be similar to the dmg from Terror from Below. 7. You always want to cast frostbolt -> flurry proc -> ice lance, except for you risking to drop chain reaction right before you plan to burst with your Orb + IV. Then you accept losing a FoF proc for keeping up the 30% increased Ice Lance dmg which is in a cleave situation a ton, considering with splitting ice the 30% is even further increased. 8. There are specific fights where you want to save your Ice Lance procs like mentioned in 6., like Mistress, where you want to do the same with only frostbolt -> Flurry without the Ice Lance if you would drop chain reaction and you have an FoF Proc, so you dont gain any FoF proc by doing the FB -> BF -> IL combo. 9. Legendary BiS are by far the bracers and Ring in any situation, even if you dont use hero on pull as you get 2 hero's no matter what. 10. There are only some exceptions to the Exodar + Bracer combo, on fights like Mistress where you can proc your Sephuz' on cooldown and gain that 25% haste basically with a 33% uptime, there Sephuz outclasses the Shard of the Exodar. 11. The Clarity of Thought relic is stronger than the Frozen Veins relic, as the Frozen Veins basically dont give you direct dps improvement, only IV cd reduction which can end in close to no dps gain depending on your fight length, aswell it is very Brain Freeze proc/fb crit reliant as it can sometimes be pretty unlucky and end up giving sort of a low cd reduction with the relic. The Clarity of Thought relic on the other hand gives you more dps as you gain more procs, and also indirectly gives you cd reduction on IV by having more crits on your FB's which ends in you reducing your CD aswell. 12. In terms of relics you want to pretty much aim at 1 Frozen Veins relic as it most likely gets you in that sweet spot in combination with the Medallion trinket which is on a 2 minute cd, and 2 DPS relics, which can either be Obsidian Lance, Let it go, or Clarity of Thought, where I prefer Clarity of Thought because it just feels better with more BF procs. Yes we absolutely need to. Only time u you shouldn't , is when you shatter your ebonbolt or like in the video I'm about to loose my icey veins. And decide to go with a BF proc into IL to extend my icey veins :)
How come when you have two FOF you were still casting frostbolt? And is it best to alternate between ice lance and frost bolt when you only have 1-2 FOF?
Hi Kyle, recently we can stack 3 FoF charges instead of 2. For the rotation it has always been FB into IL to shatter it :). Unless I'm drowning in FoF due to frozen orb, I will cast IL wihout a FB. But only when I'm at 3 FoF. LIke for example on adds that need to get nuked down right away. I prefer touse my FoF without FB for quick burst.
ThatRealGamerGuy at about 8:05 you have 2 FOF procs and a brain freeze but you were still casting frostbolt. Were you waiting for a higher count of chain reaction? And also to add onto that do you recommend with 1-2 FOF procs saving them for higher chain reaction and incanters stacks?
Well the longer your chain reaction the better. At the end of the day, your're casting FB to shatter your FoF and at the same time hoping your FB gives another FoF or BF proc :). TBH I don't really track my IF stacks :D
Hey :) hello, nice video I have a question :) I do the same rotations as you and my ilvl is 915. My dps is shitty I do like around 550 k - 750k (max) on bosses in ToS normal/heroic. I really dont know whats wrong :( I almost have no procs and just have to cast frostbolt a lot. I only have a nice burst in beginning when I use the cooldowns.. and then dps drops down. My stats are : 27% crit, 21% haste, 62% mastery (way too much) and 5% vers. Is my dps so bad because of my stats? Is the lack of 6% crit the big problem? I have 4 set items of ToS normal and even the BiS trinket Tarnished Sentinel Medallion. My legendaries are: Shard of the exodar (ring) and Zann'esu Journey (belt). Some help would be reaaaally appreciated :D cause I feel very ashamed of my dps :( My character is Cakevendor-Terenas. Thanks :)
Hi! Well do you sim your character? I'm at 924 ilevel and my output is on average between 1mil and 1.3 mil using my rotation :). Indeed your stats are far from ideal. Here are my stats with 924 ilevel. 33.76% crit, 25% haste, 40% mastery and 8% versa. I would really recommend to try to rework your stats, do some mythic+ dungeons to get ideal stats on waist, feet and wrist for example :)
Hi Wildcard, this depends on how soon icey veins is getting of cd. Since frozen orb will be of cd way more with the new tier set. I advice you not to keep your ebonbolt too long for simply extending your icey veins :).

you cant make ebonbolt benefit from its brain freeze, this is why ppl cast frost bolt right after ebonbolt then flurry as soon as finished the cast of frost bolt (flurry reaches its target faster then frostbolt, so frostbolt can shatter on brainfreeze)

Matthew Fox You should get much more versatility, at about ilvl 905, Versatility is way better than haste I'd recommend getting at least 10%. Try Raidbots to prioritize your stats.

After reaching your crit cap. Go for haste and versa. I have a lot of mastery atm. Bcs sadly enough I still don't have my BiS tier pieces. All I can say is that sadly enough legos and a lot of gear pieces have mastery on them. I know it sucks :)
ThatRealGamerGuy for all that I know, the only tier piece that has mastery is back from t20, it's got Vers/mastery. Other three items would be Sentinels (an Owl trinket), ebonchill (haste/mastery) and lego bracers (if you have them). Every other item shouldn't have any no mastery, then you can easily reach crit cap (33,34%) and invest in some more valuable stats.
ThatRealGamerGuy he means that you want to dump your fof procs before you cap at 3 so that you aren't taking away chances to get more fof procs. Usually a good idea to just dump fof procs until you have 1 left before casting frost bolts
Heheh, I know how it's like to play without any BIS LEGOS. Only when I played fire in 7.1, I got orange parses bcs I had the BIS LEGOS. With frost I'm still waiting for a decent one :D

Hi @Drew Lane, due too problems within my guild, we didn't come to mythic raiding yet. Getting those 20 guys together is a painfull proces. I really don't think that mythic raiders come to my channel for advice :). It is still a basic TV guide.
With the TV spec we are still trying to extend our icey veins as long as possible. Using Frozen orb off cd all the time, as soon as it's ready. You really need to time it very well or you'll loose a FoF proc; that could have otherwise been used to extend your IV.

Pure single target fights, we don't use it. Unless you have the lego belt :)

ThatRealGamerGuy he means that you want to dump your fof procs before you cap at 3 so that you aren't taking away chances to get more fof procs. Usually a good idea to just dump fof procs until you have 1 left before casting frost bolts

Heheh, I know how it's like to play without any BIS LEGOS. Only when I played fire in 7.1, I got orange parses bcs I had the BIS LEGOS. With frost I'm still waiting for a decent one :D

Hi @Drew Lane, due too problems within my guild, we didn't come to mythic raiding yet. Getting those 20 guys together is a painfull proces. I really don't think that mythic raiders come to my channel for advice :). It is still a basic TV guide.

With the TV spec we are still trying to extend our icey veins as long as possible. Using Frozen orb off cd all the time, as soon as it's ready. You really need to time it very well or you'll loose a FoF proc; that could have otherwise been used to extend your IV.
