Thanks for a wonderful tutorial. You explained very well and now I know for the first time how to make a sweater that fits my body. Thanks and well done 🩷🩷🩷
It’s great you don.t just tell us how many stitches you do (as it never fits all), but explain us how to decide how much depending on the person ! 👍🏻👏🏼
I'm so glad to find your channel, too! I love your classic designs and your very detailed directions. I'm not a fan of the traditional crochet-stich look, so I love it when designers can create works that look knitted or less traditional crochet. I'm also better with the crochet hook than I am with the knitting needles, so I love crochet patterns like this! Thank you!
Thank you Wendy! Good to hear you like my patterns. And same here, I love the knitted look but I'm more a crocheter than a knitter. Hope you enjoy making it!
I look forward to trying this one I love top down sweaters I have done raglan tops but never one in the round yoke style. So glad I found your channel. Could you do a raglan sweater with a hoodie attached please.
Thank you Debbie!! Glad you like it! A raglan sweater with a hoodie is a new challenge for me, never made one before. But that will be fine. I'll definitely put it on my list. Have fun crocheting!
Thank you so much for this video it was perfect. I finally managed to make a jumper I’m happy with. I used much thicker yarn but I found it quite easy to adapt. Just for anyone else making it in thicker yarn you have to increase by a lot more stitches on the yoke to make it sit flush. It also looks great with colour change arrange the yoke in the thicker yarn.
How amazing!! If you like, you can show me the result on Instagram (2loopzcrochet), you can tag me or send me a DM. I would love to see the color and how it looks with thicker yarn!
I just subscribed after watching how you made this sweater. The knit stitch/Waist Coat stitch I will have to practice first. That one looks difficult to find the space. I sure hope I can make this as nice as yours.
Thanks for subscribing, means a lot! You can practice the stitch by using a bigger yarn and bigger hook so you can clearly see the place where to insert. You can do it! If I can do anything to help, let me know!
Hahaha lol🤣 I'm now working on a hooded sweater, but 1 or 2 cardigans or jackets are coming in the near future. You can make this sweater into a cardigan though if you don't close the beginning chain and work back and forth for the yoke and the body instead of working in rounds. The sleeves remain the same. And top it off with a border all around. Seems super nice! You give me inspiration as well and I already have so much on my wish list😆😉
You can make this sweater into a cardigan if you don't close the beginning chain and work back and forth for the yoke and the body instead of working in rounds. The sleeves remain the same. And top it off with a border all around.
You're welcome!! Glad you like it!! Your question is a bit difficult to answer, because your yarn is a lot thicker than the yarn I used. With a number 3 or 4 yarn I mostly use between 1000 and 1500 meters for a sweater in size S/M depending on the stitch I use. For every size up take a skein extra. Hope this answer helps you out. Good luck and have fun crocheting!
Thanks for the very clear video instructions. also thanks for switching to the pink to illustrate as you're right, it's hard to see darker colors. This is a great looking sweater :) My question is how much "ease" is there to this sweater? I'm hoping to start it very soon.
Thank you Cathy! The sweater has quite a bit of ease. It has a loose fit, but you can easily adjust when you go. Put your sweater on every once and a while, eyeball the fit and then you can make increases or decreases when needed. Hope this answers your question :)
Hi Avelina, glad you like the sweater! You can definitely make it with a thicker yarn, you have less stitches to start with though and the end result will look a bit different. Make a foundation chain (with the bigger yarn and bigger hook) that fits looseley around your neck and start from there. Hope this helps, if you need help let me know!
Hi! I am so glad I found this tutorial! I have two questions (for now! 😂). When you do the front and back post row, the second to last stitch would be a back post SC, and the last stitch would be a regular single crochet? My second question is if the Ch 3 is considered a stitch and the first front post of the next row is done around that stitch. Thank you and greetings from Bolivia.
Hi ask me any question you have :) I try to answer them for you. The last stitch isn't a sc but a front post sc, because you work in the round. The answer on your second question is yes, you work the first front post around the ch 3 from the beginning. Hope this helps, let me know if I can helpp you with anything else!
Thank you for the tutorial! I really like this design and how you explain things, the little diagram was also very helpful. I wonder, could I use this pattern for a men's sweater, or it would need some changes?
Hi! I think this is definitely possible. The sweater has no waist but is straight. I'd adjust the length a bit if it's for a man but that is personal preference. If you make one I would love to see the result!
Thank you for a great tutorial! I’m going to make this surely. This is something very new to me. Do you think it works for a man’s sweater? Thanks in advance.
Hi! You can adjust your sweater to your desired size. Start with a double crochet foundation chain, make this chain so long that it fits loosely around your head. Work in multiples of 10. I started with 130 stitches but you can make it less stitches if you decrease by 10 stitches at a time. Hope this helps!
Thank you very much for this wonderful tutorial. I was wondering if one really always ends sc rounds with a back post sc. Isn't this only the case with an even number of 10sts clusters? E.g., if I have 100 sts initially, this would be 10 x 10sts clusters; increase = 10 sts. If I have 110 sts initially, this makes for 11 x 10 sts clusters; increase = 11 sts., which leaves me with a fp sc at the end of my round, doesn't it?
Hi Ingeborg, you're welcome! You should always have an even number of stitches, if you have that it doesn't matter if you have 100 or 110 stitches for example. You alternate front and back post sc so you always start with frontpost sc and always end with a backpost sc. But it is important that you have an even number otherwise it will not work out. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other question.
I tried to make this but the increases don't seem to happen fast enough because my neck opening ended up buckling (it will not lay flat). Any suggestions? I frogged it back to row 4
Hi, good of you to ask. It could be due to slightly different thickness of yarn or how tight or loose someone crochets. I had this question once before and then it could be solved by starting with more increases than the indicated number. You can start with it from round 4. After each round of increases you put the work down and then check whether it lies flat. If not, make additional increases in the next round. Hope this solves the problem for you.
I tried several times but just can't get this down. Ty for sharing your talent and responding. I am going to frog it because I can't get the yoke to sit correctly:(
Nice tutorial. I just would like to know what size this pattern is, and how many chains you have. I need size small, and don't know hoe many chains I need with this yarn size. How can I calculate it? I love your pattern and would like to crochet it, but I need to know the number of chains. Thank you for the beautiful pattern.
Thank you! You can make the sweater easy to your own size. Start with a double crochet foundation chain, make this chain so long that it fits loosely around your head. Work in multiples of 10. For a size S I start with 130 stitches. But measure around your own head if it fits loosely, because everybody crochets different. Hope this helps. Have fun crocheting!

Hello. Did you do the arm hole (across your chain 6) in the round AFTER you did the body portion to the belly button?
Hi! Yes I did the body of the sweater first and the sleeves after that.
Perhaps a little thicker yarn will make it easier to learn the process. Thanks!❤
Yes indeed ;)
Can I use only single crochet in the beginning?
You can give it a try, but I don't know how the increase will turn out. When you make a couple of rounds you see if it works out the way you want.
Esta precioso pero no encuentro la tracción en español
