I think it's less that he's dumb and more that he's too strong willed. No way anyone could brainwash him into giving away his bananas. This is likely why Diddy and Rambi were captured (in singleplayer) instead of brainwashed, and also likely why Cranky didn't steal the bananas either.
If we buy this, the funds better go directly into the making of an all new Donkey Kong game. I'm still buying it just for the sake of experiencing it again after losing my 3DS copy.
People complain too much about the Donkey Kong franchise having new villains like the Tikis or the Snowmads. The first Donkey Kong Country was going to have Wario as the villain, but then Nintendo asked Rare to create new ones. Let Retro Studios create brand new villains, if it wasn't for them, DK Returns would feel like a remake that only took the work that Rare did instead of creating new stuff.
The Snowmads we're cool, but the leader/final boss has next to no character to him. At least in the first DKC, we know K.Rool is after the Kong's banana hoard and he sees himself as a king among his crew despite really being a glorified pirate captain.
@@protomanx43 When Nintendo slapped the Returns monikor on DK Country i thought they'd only use it once. But no instead they want to reuse it with each subsequent DK release

I don’t think people have a problem with the fact that it’s a re-release. Their problem is mostly about the price and the effort put into this re-release.
What a shock…instead of giving us a new game it’s yet again another port of an older game. I really hope the next Switch gets more brand new games and less ports.
It will. The only reason the Switch got so many ports was cause the Wii U under performed, and the Switch introduced millions of new fans that never played these games
they charging full price for this game, it looks the same as the Wii, also if you have a PC, you can play a emulator of this game and play on a smooth 4K 60fps+ for free.
OMG, this looks totally sweet! Although I do have Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, I'd really love to get Donkey Kong Country Returns HD as well! I'm so hyped for this game's release! I also really hope that Nintendo will someday make New Super Mario Bros. 3, a remake of and a sequel to Super Princess Peach, remakes of Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Super Mario Galaxy 3, Mario Kart 9, remakes of the first Paper Mario game and Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, a Switch port of Paper Mario: Color Splash, a brand new Mario vs. Donkey Kong game, a brand new Donkey Kong Country game, a new Mario Baseball game and a remake of and a sequel to Mario Sports Mix! I came up with some totally sweet ideas for them, and I hope that all of you and Nintendo will love them all just as much as I do! I just can't wait for Donkey Kong Country Returns HD to be released! I think Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is getting a bit of a raw deal from people, so I want to go to bat for it here. First off, let's set the record straight that this isn't just a simple port or upscale job. The devs have clearly put in some serious elbow grease to make this the definitive version of Returns. They've brought over the 3DS levels, which is no small feat. Those 3DS levels? They're not just copy-pasted in. From what we can see, they've been remade to fit seamlessly with the original Wii levels. People who think it was was just a simple copy and paste job have no idea how game development works. But they didn't just stop there-they've gone and given the game a visual overhaul with new lighting and textures. This isn't just the Wii version with a fresh coat of paint; it's a step up. Now, I will admit that there have been some inconsistencies at times, but as you can already see in comparison footage, the game has clearly been shown off at different builds (which probably isn't helping the game optics-wise, but I digress). Several of the missing graphical touches (like Stormy Shore being dimmer), which were missing initially, have been spotted again. Now, I get it. Some people are griping about the $60 price tag, especially when you compare it to something like Metroid Prime Remastered, which got a more extensive graphical overhaul. But let's give credit where it's due. The team could've easily just ported over the Nvidia Shield version and called it a day. That version is literally just the Wii original in HD. Instead, they've put in the work to make this version more definitive. My point is that this release is more hands-on than Pikmin 1+2 and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, for example. (All solid titles, but those were certainly more simple porting jobs.) Now, I hear you if you're feeling a bit miffed that we're getting this instead of a brand new DK game. It's been over a decade since Tropical Freeze, after all. But here's the thing-Nintendo clearly hasn't forgotten about him. They're heavily investing in the DK brand, and I'd bet my last bunch of bananas that Returns HD isn't the only thing they've got cooking. (There are other reasons why DK was largely absent from the Switch, part of this being the scrapped 3D DK game by Vicarious Visions.) Donkey Kong is a big deal. He might not be quite on Mario or Pikachu's level, but he's up there. I'd wager more people could pick DK out of a lineup than they could any character from Zelda. He's, at the very least, right up there with Peach, Luigi, and Bowser in terms of recognizability (beyond Yoshi and Wario). Nintendo knows this, and they're not about to let such a valuable asset gather dust. You don't invest into a theme park expansion for dead/dormant IPs. Heck, Miyamoto himself has said DK is his favorite character. So don't worry, this HD release isn't the end of the line-it's just the beginning of a new era for DK, I feel. So let's give Returns HD the credit it deserves and get hyped for what's coming next! (To be clear, though, yes, the game could be cheaper, and yes, I'd like a new DK game. At the end of the day, I'm just trying to be more nuanced about it and am looking forward to replaying Returns after all this time on the Switch.)
So in 7 games total including DK64 he was voiced by Grant Kirkhope who was the composer for DK64. The games after that was just them reusing the same clips.
0:50 Donkey Kong must have a metal plate in his head to protect him from getting hypnotized (I wonder if Tropical Freeze will be remade for the third time on the Nintendo G10 after the Third Donkey Kong Country Returns game makes it on that system?)
