@@matperez1168 yes it should be the same or very very similar to this 👍 if you look under front end youll be able to tell in a minute how close it is to this. But all Toyotas and Lexus Ive worked on have been pretty similar 👍
Hell yeah bro just saw another video that was way off telling me to take off almost the whole hub and so much other stuff but this made it so much easier, in and out 15 mins, thank you!
Great video, well done and very helpful! I am going to rent the ball joint separator from autozone, based on your video, thank you! I am working on a 2008 Lexus RX400h replacing both ball joints.
Update: I lowered the car onto a jack stand for safety and stability, and worked in front of the tire, leaving the tie rod attached. To loosen the castle nut I purchased a cheap box end wrench then used a grinder to grind down the lumpy side so it would fit between the cv boot and the top of the ball joint. I used a tie rod separator fork, a small torch, and a big hammer to free the old ball joint, folding it onto itself to clear the metal mud guard. Your video helped greatly, thanks again!
Good video, Nice and simple..got a 05 Sienna same deal looks to me, watched another video Dude popped off the axles and tie rods then used a seporator LoL...had to turn that video off... Good work, thanks...
Jonny Diy, question and it may be obvious but during the video I saw the tie rod end pop out when u took the pry bar to the control arm to pop off the ball joint. Do I need to take that bottom nut off the tie rod end then to proceed?
Yes, loosen all the bolts on the ball joint you can with tie rod still attached, will make easier. Then loosen tie rod nut and if tie rod stuck in knuckle tap upwards with hammer on that loosened nut (loosened enough to cover bottom threads so you dont damage) to break it from the taper. Think I have a tie rod video on same car if you need to replace those too. Here you go ua-cam.com/video/H8oZfqdFfmU/v-deo.html
