    I’ve had the ib for four years or so, and I’d venture that it’s unlikely that anyone has ever enjoyed a watch as I did and do enjoy it. I’m not a collector, but I couldn’t resist this handset, and bought the I. They are very different, but the same in how I love their simple straightforward all indices all the same all the way around design. I love them. Always enjoy your reviews, and I’ll always think it’s good to encourage people to get a 556 of some kind. I like watches. I want a couple of nice ones for myself. I’ve chosen two 556s. I’d encourage others to heed your advice. Odds, I think, point towards pleasure and satisfaction. On top of privilege and/or thrift, what could be better, more fun, or prettier, moment by moment, day by day? Antikythera’s mechanism’s spirit on one’s humble wrist during one’s humble time. Such a pleasure and privilege. I wish my pleasure in it for all who might be so capable.

    Great video! Especially the outdoor shot -- I think it really drives home the difference in the two dials. I do think the 556A would've suited me better, but I had to see that glossy black dial! It steals the show.

    I'm looking forward to buy one of these 2 one day. For me that would be a luxury watch, since I haven't worn anything more expensive than a limited 5KX or a Kamasu on my wrist (not that it's a bad thing). I was actually considering to get the Hami Khaki Field Auto first, but since I already have 2 cheap but nicely modded Amphibias with similar looks, probably that would be too many field/tool watches in my box. I guess I should aim for the Sinn. But even after your comparison, I need to see these two in person first. The A model maybe has a bit of Explorer vibe to it and you can tell the time at a glance. The stunning dial on the I model looks so clean and contrast, and seems like there is a bit of Bauhaus influence in it's design. You can't go wrong with any of these, that's why it's a hard choice. 🤧Thanks for the video!

      I’m wearing a hamilton khaki auto as My daily right now. Great watch, but if you’ve got the cash, go for the sinn! That dial, anti magnetism, satin finish and screw down crown will give you what you really need for a gada watch. I recently purchased a 556i from Francis & Gaye, Ryan is a nice chap. Loving everything about the watch. Funnily the clasp has started growing on me. It just seems to balance the watch on the wrist perfectly. If Rolex made a 38.5mm explorer that wears like the 556, I would be lusting after it bad. For me it was an easy choice between A and I. I like versatility in a watch and find the i just suits formal/smart casual/casual effortlessly. Great watches!

      You have a super watch there, some entire models feel nothing more than that but the 556 is a great watch in its own right , a top grade movement solid case and 200m of WR to boot

  • @wristwatchtalk
    @wristwatchtalk 2 роки тому +9

    Good stuff, after much deliberation I went for the 556i RS. But have since changed my mind and want the 556 A with white seconds. The A just has a bit more of that Sinn character for me. Legibility will also be better imo on the A. I do like that glossy dial but in person there are lots of reflections that don’t allow the AR coating to shine as much. I mean you can’t go far wrong with either though. I’ve got a number of watches but I think the sinn could be the watch that stops me from wanting anything else for some time. And I love the look of the H-Link. And I love the never changing clasp. 😁 Just keeps it simple. Yet robust.

      @wristwatchtalk 2 роки тому +1

      @@giusepperocchi2979 I do like the RS on the i, but I just think I’ll get bored of having that splash of red on the dial. I think in the long run a white seconds on both watches would be my preference. Although the rs looks better on the I dial imo.

    • @justthisguyyouknow42
      @justthisguyyouknow42 2 роки тому +2

      Similar thought process! I went to my local AD to see both, expecting to go with the i RS but fell for the A RS largely because of how well the matte dial works with the AR coating to remove most reflections. I also like how that matte black dial can shift from a medium or even light(ish) grey to dark charcoal based on lighting. So, I bought and daily the A RS and love it!
      One other thing I didn't notice at that time: many folks complain that the hands are too short in the 556, but with the 12/3/6/9 taking up a chunk of the negative space, the hands look better proportioned. Some may say it makes the dial crowded but I think in person it's just right to my eyes.

    • @ramiller2187

      @@wristwatchtalk For the longest time, it was the i with white seconds hand that was on my radar. But when it came time to buy, I went for the I RS, just thought it looked very elegant. Loved the watch when it arrived, but after a week or so, went through a couple of down days thinking I should have got the white seconds hand-It is the classic 556 after all. Honestly, you could make an entire video out of these conundrums-556a or I, white seconds hand or red. Or just buy all four and be done with it. Anyway, good news, started to like my red seconds more and more-now I absolutely love it. These are such iconic designs, I think no matter which one you go with you can’t lose.

Only asking is because I got a new watch from them last year and it was definitely not 100% factory fresh. Missing screen sticker and several other tell tale signs and finger print on bezel etc. Its not nice if loaning new watches out to get free advertising then selling them as new. This might not be the case but I can't see used section on their website. Do you know what they do with them ?

      Hi David, have you been into a dealer and tried a watch on you wouldn't want the stickers on it you'd want to see and feel it in the metal .
      Most watches in a AD have been on many people wrists guys or girls who walk in and asked try it on ,this is pretty normal I do it myself.
      Plus many dealers offer free returns within a certain time frame but I don't see any of them selling them as used .
      When I have a watch in for review it never leaves the house apart from the shots I take in the garden plus I never size the bracelet , I just do my review and return the watch.
      I'm always super careful with the watches I have in from them otherwise they wouldn't allow me to have anymore.

      @@ClickSpringReview Hi thanks for the reply 😊. Yes I fully understand that people try them on in the shop etc and that there are customer returns that once inspected they are as new condition would have to be resold. It would be impossible to sell all returns as well "returns". My main point is to knowing send out a watch for free youtubers to play with wind use all the features etc etc then so resell as new is misleading in my opinion. They are getting publicity for free at the cost of the future buyer. They should then clearly inform buyer this watch has been sent to a youtuber/instagramer blogger etc for full demo video and review. And are they still happy to buy the watch. I bet most would say no if fully informed. I get returns are a necessary evil of online sales and must be resold. Knowingly sending watches out for review is misleading. Also you say you are careful some might not be as careful. Some youtubers are wearing them for walks etc. For example if you was buying a watch personally and one AD's watch had been sent out to youtubers for videos and demos etc and one dealers watch was factory fresh with all plastics on braclet and crystal if price was the same what AD would you buy from and please be honest?

      Hi again David ,
      As a UA-camr and I think I speak for many of them we have to be so careful not to mark the watch in anyway , otherwise we would not get another or even worst case scenario would be made to pay for it .
      Were as a customer goes they just buy the which and don't care as its there's , but after a month or so then decided to send it back for one reason or another (F&G offer 90 day returns)
      So I'd prefer to have a watch which went out for review rather than for a customer.
      In fact my Sinn 144 Anniversary was sold before I got it but the customer didn't like that it had a German day wheel (his loose my gain :) I didn't mind as the watch was like new Sir

      @@ClickSpringReview Hi thanks for the reply click. You never answered my question though if 2 dealers sold same watch for same price and one was factory fresh with all seals etc on braclet and one had been sent for demo review and video what dealer would you buy from and be honest. Based on this logic if its reveresed other youtubers/instagramers can order from dealers that lend watches e.g. F&G . They can use them for videos, demos, comparisons, photo shoots etc. Don't tell the dealer this then and when finished with them simply return them back under the 90 days returns policy and just pay postage. They will get an expensive watch to play with get free content then just pay postage back. Do you think this would be acceptable ?

      @@daveLin104 Would you prefer they didn't offer free returns ? I can't see many reviewer opining to do this as they would have to pay for the watch in the first place hoping the return would be accepted plus would also have to pay for the postage .
      I know I wouldn't even companies which send there watches to me for review I always state they need to include a shipping returns lapel .
      Being my 144 was returned before I got it I don't mine this. but its always to be the first good to get to remove the sticker yourself .
      If your watch has been in the window of the dealer the stickers will of been removed anyway and tried on by god knows how many people anyway .
      Brands like Rolex remove the sticker as they are no allowed to sell them with the sticker still fitted .

      I’d go for a black Sinn U50 over the Tudor any day of the week myself as they are the same price ,
      The Tudor is double the price of the 556

      Sinn is Infinitely superior to Tudor. In tech. In value. In originality. But I understand lots of people enjoy homages so each to their own.

      @@ClickSpringReview I'd go for the 556 A over the Ranger. Having seen this in the metal the proportions of the dial and the font of the numerals don't seem right. The Tudor movement is good though. I don't see the U50 comparing with the Ranger and 556. It's a wonderful watch (I've got one) but it's a full on dive watch.

      Sinn is better than Tudor is almost every metric. Well Tudor is a better homage brand perhaps, but other than for homages Sinn wins easily.
