One of the guys that drummed in this movie stated it was practically the worst thing they've experienced. The light up sticks section had to be redone because they broke all of the sticks during their first run-through, and that 80% of the stuff was an audio track.
First off I love your content! I was apart of the filming. I was the first quint players near the snares on southern state side. One thing I will say is they chopped and screwed our cadences so bad. I also heard that they had to re record the audio for our section which didn't include the original drummers that you see playing. So trust when I say the original versions that we played before they chopped it up sounded waaaaaaaaaaay better than this crap that they did! I literally couldn't even tell what was being played when I heard this scene. It was also a rushed shoot. they didn't like to re do shooting any scenes unless the actors were involved. Bottom line worst movie experience of my life, BUT I met soooo many cool people that I'm still tight with to this day so I guess it wasn't all bad!! You should do the first battle in the middle of the movie. I dont think chopped ours up too bad.
I'm going to say the same thing in the comment section of all your future uploads. HARDEST WORKIN DRUMMER ON UA-cam RIGHT HERE!☝️ Dude I'm curious, how long do these videos take you to make where you are the entire line. Hours? Days?
@@EMCproductions damn, that's my point right there man. Do you always have to film each part or are you sometimes able to get away with using duplicates? That's my only other question I swear.
Wow! Just realized that I never posted a comment, since I was traveling the day this video was released! My favorite part is the drumming with the light sticks, in the dark. Especially the bass line! 😊
The last bass lick in the Dark cadence would make a nice troop (if anybody did troops anymore) For the youngsters: Troop: Troop the stands, when a corps or band plays cadence off the field then makes a right turn and passes in front of the stands and is greeted with applause. See Cavies Iowa.
Basically VH1 screwed up this whole movie. Big difference is that they way over dubbed the audio instead of letting the Drumline play it as it is. So many issues. There videos on UA-cam of the drummers playing.
Your parts showed what the composer intended with phrasing, dynamics and balance. I know it's just a movie. But the differences in quality between your versions and the movie are staggering.
The light sticks could actually be far better produced and easier/nicer to play with than the plastic, by using clear wood. Clear wood is real thing where chemical reactions breakdown the internal color of the wood's cellulose and leave the translucent cells, making wood "clear". The only problem is that clear wood is still an experimental material, and manufacturing drum sticks, which are numerous and can easily break, would probably be very expensive.
Tenor mallets are dying because most people are getting more tenor players so you don’t need them to be as loud and they can just use regular marching sticks
Hi Eric, Love your videos! Maybe you could do something with this video? Search for "Swedish army drum corps! Astonishing!!!" Maybe a reactioned and a playthrough from you or something else. Keep up the good work! :) /Mats
The light up sticks really did bad.. specially on the bass. I actually agree with the final statement. These type of movies, novelty > performance, which is sadly what is happening most of the time
You look so bored playing this,.... just as boring as the movie was. But a big shout out to Southwest Dekalb High School who was the band in Drumline. I had the honor to march with them in 1999.
You know your dci drumlines stole the upside down cadence from Hbcu bands and drumlines! Your chorus bands are inferior to Hbcu style bands in every way! Especially precision! It’s about time you get that through your head!

Yeah, I’ve played with a similar kind of light up sticks, and they are not strong
Cymbal cam has me dying in the glowy sticks cadence
This movie didn't even get a DVD it went straight to VH1 I think it came on at 10 pm on a wensday if I remember
Honestly Drumline 1 deserved a better sequel
I thought so too. I mean it was kind of a let down if you put yourself in Sean's place. Ì mean cmon really A&T?
Same as how BF 2042 deserved a better remake
apparently the school location where the 1st one was filmed was closed down or shut down. I wonder if that had some issues
Fun fact, my percussion director Tim Greene wrote some of the music for this movie. Still haven’t watched it yet.

Really awesome that the original composition was sent!!
Sextuplet bass runs under sixteenth diddle patterns is an interesting choice…
You left out all of the dance moves 😂. Great work as always, Devil!
I actually played in this movie on the SSU side. Far left snare. The production FXXKED this WHOLE scene up.
Those drumsticks are actually really cool.
Thanks Emc for the awesome video

Took 2 days to film and 2 days to edit.

How did they do that trick with the drumstick thrown and coming back like a yo-yo.
The first drumline movie shows what a drumline battle FEELS like, and the second one shows what an actual drumline battle LOOKS like. 😂
Best video in a while

I don't understand why they just didn't use real live awesome drumlines besides the couple parts for the principal actors.
A behind the scenes video would be a cool video.
You should make a drum pad
Are we going to see marching madness this year?
Your parts showed what the composer intended with phrasing, dynamics and balance.
I know it's just a movie. But the differences in quality between your versions and the movie are staggering.
"cymbal cam" got me lmfao
eric you should review hernando high school marching band! they also have a middle school and high school indoor group!

more light-up stick content please that was soo cool
NICE!
can you do the burton bulldog marching band cadences
Will being third chair in an orchestra or a rock drummer get me more ready for competitive marching band?
I noticed a lot of stuff in Drumline 2 wa exactly like Drumline 1. both movies were very similar story wise.
Hol' on. There's a Drumline 2?
Imagine not owning light up cymbals. 0/10.
Jk. This was another great vod lol
I took a picture with him yesterday
What did they use to make the stick act like a yo-yo in 1:04
string
Emcproductions Drumline Movie Cover Olivia Rodrigo Vampire Premiere 1:53
Do more videos about the front ensemble
video 33 of asking EMC to make a video of him playing the Rock Band game series
Single Tenors???
Just curious... Why don't you use tenor mallets?
Tenor mallets are dying because most people are getting more tenor players so you don’t need them to be as loud and they can just use regular marching sticks
You should do some reviews of the Bethune-Cookman Sudden Impact drumline. Literally the best of the best when it comes to show-style drumming.
You can ask Bing gpt to write a drum solo, even if it’s half baked I’m impressed it writes readable notation
Finally!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 thanks bro
I'd like to see Mr. Riles do this with his big kids. I bet they could do way better than A&T
❤❤❤
composer for the blackout cadence zelouis brown lll
Bass drum sixlets sounds amazing over sixteenths
Good morning! This is video number 55 of me asking Eric to make a set of tenors out of differently sized or tuned snare drums.
Bruh
Good morning this is video number 1 of telling you he’s already done it and he probably won’t do this comment.
I see flubs! Were there flubs in the sheet music?
Cymbal cam

Drumline 2 had the better drumming. But only the drumming was better
Video 4 of requesting a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cadence Video.
Drumline > drumline 2 a new beat
Good Morning

Audio sounds suspiciously VDLish
INVISIBLE CYMBAL CAM

Yes.
Emcproductions Drumline Movie Olivia Rodrigo Driving Home 2 U
Hey emcproductions can you review the Anderson marching highlanders band 2023 show would love it if you could
lining your drums hahaha
Yo
First comment again. Good job.
Do you know if the actors actually learn to play or if they just try and make it seem accurate.
I think the actors, as in the guys that have any lines on the movie, don’t actually play.
They are actual players.
They had to learn a little bit !!
BALLS
ye i liked the first movie better
Atl academy vs EMC clones
Lol
The incongruous rhythms in these cadences really dont sound good, even when played by EMC. Just generally poor writing brings this down
You look so bored playing this,.... just as boring as the movie was. But a big shout out to Southwest Dekalb High School who was the band in Drumline. I had the honor to march with them in 1999.
