Desire, I Want to Turn Into You is the fourth studio album by American singer-songwriter and producer Caroline Polachek, and second under her given name. It was released on February 14, 2023, by Sony Music, The Orchard, and Polachek's imprint Perpetual Novice.
It was supported by the singles "Bunny Is a Rider", "Billions", "Sunset", "Welcome to My Island", and "Blood and Butter". The cover art was shot by Aidan Zamiri.
Fantastic choice, Caroline is such a unique musician.

First heard her on Charli's 'New Shapes' track. Her bridge in that makes the ENTIRE song. After that I was in love.
the banana jokes are so funny cause in her first album Pang, she has a song were she says "show me the banana" and ppl used to bring inflatable bananas in the crowd so i guess it kinda makes sense LOL (speaking of Pang, i would love a reaction to that album, its a masterpiece)

i also love how she is able to show her voice off without seeming like a tryhard. I feel like some people with great voices just try to shove that down your face and tend to add unnecessary vibratos and things like that. Caroline will blow your mind with her voice without it feeling forced or over the top.

i guess it depends. she for sure belts a lot but she plays with the notes so wisely that it feels more authentic then the overall pop stars with great voices tho.
OMG yes! I hate over singing. It's the main reason I dislike Jennifer Hudson's singing. It's always too much with no consideration for the sensibilities of the melody or the lyrics.

at about 5:10, Dad says her voice sounds like it's moving through a empty house like the wind -- Caroline said somewhere that her inspiration for the record was hearing a deep cut of Celine Dion, which she said reminded her of a white ship sailing through a pond-like sea

This album blew my mind! The opening track really took me by surprised. This album gives me a summer feel, without being overly top-40 summer hit sounding!
Literally just saw her on her tour last night in Athens GA and it was hands down one of the best concerts I’ve been to. She is PHENOMENAL live
Also laughed my ass off every time you mentioned the banana suit because people in the crowd brought out inflatable bananas and threw them around during So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings when she goes “Show me the Banana” in the bridge. Banana suit is meant to be 😂

This video made me cry numerous times. I just love your relationship with your dad! He’s such a great openminded dude! He hits the nail on the head every time without being belittling or condescending about new music. He gets it! And you can see how much he’s taught you well and loves and respects you as a friend 🙌

caroline definitely beat the curse of the sophomore slump as a solo artist. she delivers more than the expected.
I've been obsessed with this album since it came out. Pang was excellent to me at the time, but desire makes it sound like a juvenile effort by comparison. Full versatility, more spurious expression, expansion in everything she excelled at in Pang. The mix is pristine, yet warm and full. It is perhaps the most well-curated and complete pop record I have ever heard. She's easily one of the best to ever do it. As a singer, she's a natural virtuoso. And then that meets vision to manifest utter sonic perfection and absolute coherence. Nothing superfluous, and nothing spared.

Moth by chairlift is the album that introduced me to caroline! The whole album, but specifically the song moth to the flame literally changed my life forever! It’s so weird how big she’s become in the last two years! Glad so many see what I’ve been so excited about like 7 years!!!

I was randomly browsing through your videos and the cover of this album happened to catch my eye and I am so glad it did. 30 seconds into Welcome to my Island and I had to pause the video and listen to the album in full, I ABSOLUTELY adore it. This album is fucking inspiring and tbh so is your channel, it makes me so happy to see both of your connection and appreciation for music, it's helped me get back into really appreciating and listening to music the way I used to. I went to the show in Cologne Germany, It was one of the first shows (around 10 days after the release of the album). Caroline unfortunately had food poisoning on that day so she wasn't in full force but even then she delivered a stunning performance, the visuals and vocals were amazing. The opener was a DJ that also played a song by Sophie (and Caroline played I Beleive later in the set)
Since she wasn't able to move a lot, she wore this amazing head piece that she said was a special treat for us as a compensation.
It was very special. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Caroline and her co-Producer Danny L Harle really did such an excellent job here, the production is so intricate and precise. I love that Caroline produces so much of her work too.

Saw her last week, probably the best performer I've ever seen! The choreo and everything was so engaging and there's not a thing I would've changed, she just commands the stage-and of course, her voice blew my mind

Oof, Connor, if you've never seen her live, you're in for a treat. Live sounds absolutely rip it apart, those base notes resound and hit so hard in your chest, tears will flow without you even wanting. Saw her live in Primavera 2022 Buenos Aires.

got to see her live yesterday and i think it maybe changed my life. absolutely insane walking out of a music festival so excited to listen to an artist I'd never heard of prior
My Girlfriend and I went to see Caroline on her second venue on her tour in Leeds a couple of days before Valentine’s day when the album released and she played the then unrealised songs and it was amazing.
We were also about three rows (or people) back from the stage too and she is an amazing performer.
My girlfriend has liked her for a long time and feels time album could really help become a household name!
