I have fallen in love with your overall style of producing such amazing awesome journals. I am a true fan of your skills. Thank you so much for openly sharing your wealth of knowledge. I look fwd to seeing what future beauty you create and share.
Thanks Cheryl, well done and easy to follow. Up the valley we are chocking on the smoke ! It’s very sad because if we didn’t have all this fires we all would be much happier !!
Hello from Vancouver Island, smoky here too! Today was a good day even got out for a walk. What a great idea, trying to glue down a full napkin is next to impossible without wrinkles and tearing, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Cheryl really cool process and clean always love your tutorials. I love sewing and wish you success with your up coming projects. Congratulations on your husband retiring. Hope you get relief from the smoke.
Hey hun...thanks so much for this wonderful napkin technique! Sorry to hear about the fires and the smoke...believe me, I know what that's like, as we suffered here too, months ago, with the worst fires in California ever. Just terrible to breathe! Congrats to your hubby on reaching retirement! Luv your videos, and you! Lil hugs xo
Hello happy Canadian Cheryl. I have a lot of family & friends out in BC who are saying the smoke is ridiculous out there. I’m in Ontario, wish we could send all the rain to you that we are getting.Thoughts & prayers are being sent to BC. Stay safe!! Your tutorial is amazing, I will definitely try , thanks for sharing it with us. Your new lavender papers are gorgeous too!
We got some of your smoke here in Oregon! Not that we aren't producing a lot of our own. Fire 50 miles east of us now. Love the idea with the napkin. Thanks!
I've watched other YT vids on this technique, but you make it look so easy. I have lots of napkins and struggle to glue them down, even with purpose made glue, so I will try this method instead. And thanks also for the Scotch Tape tip. The hours I've wasted separating napkin layers - it's so obvious now you've shown how.
Just been wondering - would this work with rice paper as well as it does with napkins? I've just bought my first pack and I don't want to spoil any as they're so lovely.
It's been a while since my last comment on this vid. We had a major leak from our bathroom through to the kitchen, so our house has been full of trades and dust. Impossible to do any craft work! Anyway, I've spent today rewatching your vids on napkins and tried the freezer paper with great success. I also tried a rice paper image on to freezer paper and that worked just as well. Guess what I'm going to be doing for the next few days?
Thank you sooooo much! This is amazing!! I've never even heard of this technique before. I'm new to making journals & paper crafting. But I really enjoy using 'unconventional' techniques & mediums. Definitely plan to try the tracing paper coin envelopes. I'm sure I'll be 'fusing' all sorts of things w/Saran wrap. Lol. I always learn something awesome from your tutorials. Thx again!
New subscriber... I love your easy to follow tutorials. Am in B.C. too. (Fraser Valley) and like you said the smoke was awful from the fires 🔥. We need some good rain 🌧. Thanks for sharing. 🇨🇦 💖
Thanks for such a good tutorial! Just picked up some very pretty napkins the other day and will give this a try with them. So sorry for your discomfort due to the smoke--so many fires in so many places! I'm happy to have found your channel and am now a subscriber. Thanks again!
I'm in SE BC and actually under an evacuation alert so living on pins and needles. I find it's my eyes that get tired and burn. So scrappin, card making or just about anything is hard. My mind can work overtime more. Thinking I may need to go napkin shopping! Thanks for the video. My husband retired a few years ago and it is indeed a lifestyle adjustment. My crafteoom in mt haven!
Its been awhile since I have done, thanks for the reminder. Sorry to hear about the smoke in your country! Hope rains will come and take care of it. Congrats on your hubby's retirement! Take care of yourself~Jeanne
Oh my gosh Cheryl, did not know about this technique. Mod Poge and I do not get along, so this is perfect for me to try. And I am one of those weird people who like to iron!!! LOL Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Thank you so much 😊 I really love 💕 this technique......I’m definitely going to have a go at it soon. I’m making an anniversary card for my husband and a birthday 🎂 for my beautiful great granddaughter, so hands full....
Wow, Cheryl what will you come up with next?!?! Can't wait to see. Love your patience. Congrats on Hubbies retirement and hopefully y'all get some relief soon from the fires. take care.....
Oh wow, what an easy but amazing technique! Have to try it out! Thanks so much for sharing! I‘m sorry to hear about your problems with all that smoke. Can’t really imagine how that is, as we barely have fires here in Switzerland. Hope it will be better soon!
Hi Cheryl gosh the world is full of fires 🔥 etc, i know some of our fire men have gone over to Australia and also Canada 🇨🇦 to assist and relieve the crews, love this tutorial thanks for sharing it,
Definitely found this very useful...decoupage and napkins do not do so well for me...ocd kicks in and with decoupage there are usually wrinkles, I hat wrinkles! Thank you fir sharing!
Cheryl I've just come upon this video and I love it. You mention using the finished product for an enveolope. Would you need to seal the napkin on the top to protect it when mailed?
I understand the forest fire allergies. I am in Ontario and our city was surrounded on three sides by fires. Couldn’t leave the windows open or sit outside. I think we are in better shape than B.C. right now. I hope it clears up for for the west soon.
Love your tutorials for using napkins. Can you recommend any online sources, in Canada, for printed paper napkins? I live in a remote enough area that shopping for decorative napkins would take a whole day (and cost $$$ in ferry fares!).
I live on the Island and I feel constantly tired all the time because of reduced oxygen in my lungs due to the smoke in the air. I am also noticing that my eyes are dry and I can't read typing on the computer because I am always blinking and it is blurry. Yesterday it was windy for a whole 15min but I found myself praying for more wind and rains to knock the smoke down and I am sure it will help with the fires too. Stay in, stay safe and thank-you for sharing. I have never seen this done before. Have a lovely day!!! AMB...Rose
Is this a long term solution for adhering? Or does it come off in time? And dumb question, may have missed it, but can you just iron onto the napkin directly to give it more heat?
I think by the video, you can tell this is the first time I've tried this method, so I have no idea. All I can tell you, is the piece I did in this video is still intact.
delygirl1961 AWESOME! I think I’ll try ironing straight onto the napkin. Eek we will see how it goes lol. Who knows when I’ll get to that step though... got like 50 projects going at once, 😉

You get it worse because of the bowl valley I'm afraid
Hello from Vancouver Island, smoky here too! Today was a good day even got out for a walk. What a great idea, trying to glue down a full napkin is next to impossible without wrinkles and tearing, thanks for sharing.
You are most welcome Vickie. We are supposed to get a little rain by Saturday. Sure hope so
This has to be in my top 2 favourite craft channels.
Appreciate that Abi
Thanks Cheryl really cool process and clean always love your tutorials. I love sewing and wish you success with your up coming projects. Congratulations on your husband retiring. Hope you get relief from the smoke.
We should be getting some rain soon, so that will help a little
Pretty Iron I love it.😍 As well as the video I might add thanks and the sound of the parchment paper!!🥰😊
Thanks for sharing. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who was curious about this process.
I was just told it doesn't work on tracing paper

Yes, I heard about your fires. Our poor planet is really changing, but there isn't global warming, right ;)

You are most welcome
Thank you so much for sharing. It seems the whole world is burning, you keep hearing of places where fire is! Stay safe!
For sure it has been a very dry summer for many places. We have some rain here on the coast now, so things are looking up
We got some of your smoke here in Oregon! Not that we aren't producing a lot of our own. Fire 50 miles east of us now. Love the idea with the napkin. Thanks!
You're welcome Laura
Holy hell! i just found new ways to do end papers for books and journals. Awesome!
I was told later, that it doesn't stick to tracing paper. I haven't tried it myself, but I will.
Just been wondering - would this work with rice paper as well as it does with napkins? I've just bought my first pack and I don't want to spoil any as they're so lovely.
I'm not sure, as
I've since been told it doesn't work on tracing paper. I would cut a little strip and try it first.

I've only seen this done wth freezer paper well you learn something new everyday
Yes I think you do 😆
TFS! Always enjoy your videos! I am in Northern Alberta and we have had terrible smoke, but not as much as BC. Hope you are all safe!
I'm on the West Coast, so we are safe, but the East isn't doing too well.

This beats ironing the washing any day. Thanks for a great tutorial
I totally agree with you Karen
@@delygirl1961 I've given it a go...fun and quick

Love this! Can you put the cling wrap on top of the napkin to seal it?
Going to try that . Such a beautiful napkin. .
I hope you like it
Great tutorial, never knew you could do this. TFS, Yvonne
You're welcome Yvonne
Wow! This is super neat! Thanks for sharing this process. Take care out there with the smoke. 🙏🏼😔❤️

Hi Cheryl gosh the world is full of fires 🔥 etc, i know some of our fire men have gone over to Australia and also Canada 🇨🇦 to assist and relieve the crews, love this tutorial thanks for sharing it,
Yes, we can't call it a State of emergency because we don't have States, but it is the equivalent to it.
Another great tutorial. I hope the smoke is abating a bit more by now. Here in Cowichan Bay on the Island it is much better than last Wednesday.
Yes it is raining lightly here now
Definitely found this very useful...decoupage and napkins do not do so well for me...ocd kicks in and with decoupage there are usually wrinkles, I hat wrinkles! Thank you fir sharing!
I know what you mean Pamala. I was told that it doesn't work on tracing paper, but I haven't tried it yet. I will though.
Thanks for sharing your skills, Congratulations!
Elvy Escoto Escoto thanks so much for watching
Hope the fires get under control. We are having major issues from the smoke blowing all the way from Canada down to Colorado.
Yes, and you know we are sorry about that :)
I've seen this technique for paper, wood and canvas. Does it work on tile?
Wonderful idea thanks for sharing!
You're welcome

😎 wow... I have never seen that before.. it's awesome and beautiful 😍👍
Thank you
Thank you so much for sharing hugs Shelley 💜
Thanks for watching Shelley
After you seal the napkin to the cling wrap - can you then laminate it to make a travelers notebook. That is a gorgeous napkin.
I don't see why not
delygirl1961 - ok will give it a try. Thank you
I love using this method!
Very easy and neat
Use the tape on the white backing instead of the pattern part. Thank you for sharing!
Yes, I realized that after I had filmed :) thanks
I enjoyed the idea, I spent the afternoon making paper.
I understand the forest fire allergies. I am in Ontario and our city was surrounded on three sides by fires. Couldn’t leave the windows open or sit outside. I think we are in better shape than B.C. right now. I hope it clears up for for the west soon.
Me too. We are supposed to get a little rain this weekend. I really hope so.
Such a gorgeous napkin. I am going to give this a go one day next week. But i want to cover a box..is that possible?
I think if it was me, I would adhere it to paper first then decoupage it onto a box
@@delygirl1961 after watchin you a bit i think you are right...i got to thinkin it might be better with the paper under it. Thanks

Thank you Rose. I think today it was a bit better. I did go to the pharmacy and they suggested an eye drop for me. Seems to help

Instead of using plastic wrap, have you tried heat and bond lite to adhere the napkins?
nope
Can I use tissue paper to do this
Do you do sewing videos? Love this one on napkins.
Jean Murdock no sorry
I'm in the lower mainland too. The smoke is really bothering me. I've been using nasal sprays and eye drops for more than a couple weeks.
I sure hope it clears up soon
I did not have much luck with the Saran method, worked better with the modgepodge and iron it on. The modge podge melts and sticks it together.
That’s great
How many times can you re-use the parchment paper? 2nd video and I'm thrilled I found your channel!! TY! XO❤XO 💘XO❤
Well what you saw was my 3rd time, so I imagine quite a few
TY that's great to know! Save money and environment! TY for responding so promptly! Have a nice holiday weekend! XO❤XO💘XO❤
Thanks Cheryl
You're welcome Nancy
Can you put on material
That is a neat way of making new paper! I have seen loads of napkins that I wished were paper pads lol, now i can just make my own :)
And considering how inexpensive a lot of napkins are, you would save lots of money. I just use dollar store plastic wrap too.
Totally!!
When you use the decoupage does it stay sticky like mod podge?
No, I've never had any problems
The smoke was making the air hazy in Munising, Michigan, across Lake Superior.
Hopefully the weather will change soon. We are coming into fall soon.
Love it!!
Thank you
great video - love the idea of making my own envelopes - journal covers and use this with my punches - yay! thank you so much for teaching this to us
You are most welcome Janet
Love the texture but think I will be too impatient with the ironing. TFS
I can be too, but if that is all I'm doing in a day, I just do a bunch up, then they are ready to go
I have done it on tracing paper and it came back off every time
Good to know, thank you
@@delygirl1961 your welcome
