Played as viserys returning brought the dragons back and reclaim the swords from the houses that don't value the valyrian ways. Reforged most into the names of the Targaryen kings did have to cheese the artifact claims cuz they cost 10k prestige
As my first custom dynasty I got an event while fighting as a Knight for my liege - I slew the head of House Jast on the battlefield, and it gave me the option to keep Pride as a prize. A more established house might have returned it to his heirs, but I definitely didn't.
I spent a playthrough collecting them as Bobby B. Who needs White Walkers when mortal men are perfectly able to scour and terrorize the world in pursuit of their petty ends? Ironically, I couldn't bring myself to betray Ned so the North was entirely spared.
@@JB-xl2jc There weren't really any Valyrian armies who needed to be on the ground. When you can casually send 300 dragons to a battle who needs troops? Plus the Targaryens were dragonlords and even they only had 2 Valyrian swords, so if the Valyrians had armies the swords were probably to expensive to give their troops
You can go to the modded game folder and change any stats you want. When I played my dragonslayer family, I simply modified the game so it gives negative opinion with all the dragon rider characters, while boosting the dread by +35. Alternatively, more balanced approach is simply: For each dragon you kill, boost the dread by 5 and prowess by 1.
I don't know if the mod has enough items for it, but perhaps next you could do a list of other unique weapons or items like the Dragonbinder, the generic Valyrian Steel Weapons, etc. I think they have the show version of Roberts warhammer that you can get from Old Valyria and I also thought Oathkeeper was in the mod and Aegons dagger
So techincally we cover more than just VS in the mod, and do in fact cover the non unique swords, Dawn, Bobbys basher and Rheagars sword - It just didnt make a good title :P
@@Midgeman I did notice that. There are a few missed is all but those (at least in my games) were all acquired through the Old Valyria expeditions. You can get Fury (Orys Baratheons warhammer which looks like Bobby B’s show hammer), Aegons dagger, and other generic Valyrian weapons like a Valyrian steel mace, halberd, axe, etc
@Midgeman Yeah, if you can get big enough and stack some building multipliers for men at arms, it will get to the point where they can't do anything, I don't really see Myr, Tyrosh or Lys able to field armies larger than 10k, so it gets to the point where theyre incapable of defending themselves, and the mod never stops letting you raid. So I wouldn't even just call it viable it can be down right broken, pretty much a free 1100+ gold (+ whatever you make in ransoms) extraordinarily often.
I thought to find Brightroar it was a decision by house Lannister, as it was lost in Old Valyria off map? Tywin's brother can be picked to go find it which increases the chances of survival
The expedition to recover Brightroar always failed when I played as Lannisters, it's quite interesting to find out that it can be found by an adventurer going to the Westernlands, it looks like King Tommen managed to return from Valyria but died on his way back or died even before leaving his kingdom.
the three daughters are newer so there's been less time to fill em with content. And the sisters are notorious pirates, it's not extremely hard to believe they'd have gotten their hands on one or two
The rogares have one, they’re down in the three daughters. Edit: oh yeah just got to that bit, he incorrectly referred to the 3 daughters (of valyria) as the three sisters, which are actually some barren rocks between the north and the vale
@@MotherCelevrus If youre going to be pedantic about math you better get it right. I was referring to the difference between the numbers but simplified it to 1 is 10% of 10. The percent difference between 10 and 9 is actually 10.5263% difference.
I just wish there was an option for House Reyne to change the Raiding modifier of Red Rain. Through a decisions that could give development growth in capital (Reynes bug out deep under Castamere and made used the tunnels for more then mines), tax, building cost or building time again another reference to expanding Castamere.
I think that would have to be a reforge option or a greyed out "if owned by a castamere" rather than a decision that inserts the modifier - but why not make that as a suggestion on the AGOT mod discord? Pretty sure they have a suggestions section
Whooo CK3AGOT wiki in the background. These are really helpful for checking our work over there (we were missing Dancer and the upgraded Rhaegar). Just saw I somehow missed your special buildings video so currently using that to update our page. Dark Sister should have plus 2 intrigue instead of dread imo.
Special buildings is rather out of date! I'm currently reworking that to go by region anyway. I also agree, a stat boon for intrigue on at least one of the dread swords would be far better
I know it's possible to find the lost swords in the adventures, however what choice is it? I never know what to ask for to find them from the adventurer.
Still want to point out that Iron Will is not made of Valyrian Steel. If memory serves, the blade itself is good steel but nothing exceptionally notably, rather what makes it unique is the handle is made from Ironwood. Ironwood is much stronger than normal wood, and is found almost exclusively in Forrester territory, while their rivals the Whitehills have harvested their ironwoods almost completely. I agree with the mod's decision to make it a legendary sword (and even appropriate among the others considering Dawn is counted with them as well), though I think it should at least be mentioned that it's not Valyrian Steel. Still dope as hell though.
I hope they change Dark Sister to the Book version, the show version is just so lame comparison. I also hope that several other swords get some redesign's also like Lamentation.
@@Midgeman This could just be me thinking this, but the design of it should look at bit more modern (ASOIAF time) not close to the design it has Anglo-Saxon design it has. As it was most likely acquired by House Royce after they got conquered by the Arryns as there is no mention of it before the Dance. I don't think I can put links in the comments, but if you go the official ASOIAF wiki page for Lamentation, there is a great fan-made design by a person called mervynhaspeaked (not me I swear) where it has a very nice design that has bronze throughout the hilt, along with runes on the hilt and blade itself along with a cool pommel design. Another one is Blackfyre. I do like the design for it in the mod, however it's too large as it's not a greatsword it was a hand-and-a-half-longsword closer to Longclaw in it's size than a greatsword. I'd say the best design for it would be the official book replica design made by Valyrian Steel/Jalic Blades as it was also designed by GRRM. In my personal opinion, it the perfect amount of dragon design as the crossguard of it, flair through the gold band in the middle of the grip, and the ruby enclosed in the pommel looks great without it looking to unrealistic. I know this could just be me, but it seems old that some of them like Lamentation just look so old, when imo they shouldn't. Also, thanks for the reply.
@@Aaron_Guest I agree the sizing is a bit off for some swords, honestly I wanna go through all the swords in game and just fix all sizing issues. What I will say is that a lot of these fan redesigns just are badly proportioned swords to begin with, with pretty bad flaws. For the mod we do follow general realism and IRL sword proportions using historical typology, so we won't be doing most of the fan designs. That being said, for Lamentation, I just did it like that because I find it weird for it to be more medieval if they have old bronze armor. At least now the armor and sword looks old, and not too contrasty, even though they are still based on things thousands of years apart. Also I love migration era swords so /shrug
@@Aaron_Guestto be fair there’s pretty much no mention of the Royce’s before the andal invasion so it would still make sense for them to have it before then
Yep, if you have a Valyrian Steel Sword you get a decision to reforge it - it requires a lot of gold, prestige and an excellent court smith (you can recruit one through a decision). However you also lose a level of prestige and a lot of it for essentialy defacing an ancestral sword to your liking.

Def think riverlands and stormlands could get a couple of valyrian steel weapons. But also they shouldn't add too many or they won't feel special
According the actual lore there are about 200 in westeros. I'd like to see some weapon variation, few daggers and maces and such as well as swords
